HONDA PRELUDE V 98 Prelude build thread

Part 1 of the orange peeled prelude (will be revised and edited when i have time) Just got this prelude not even a month ago and i am full swing into building my first car. I picked up a 98 prelude with 210 miles on the body for a fairly cheap price I bought this car mainly because the body was in good shape new tires and some parts that i figure i could pawn off jdm h22a block 2 h22a4 transmissions

I am guessing the swap is still out of the car If it is I would change the timing belt and crappy auto-tensioner for a Kaizenspeed manual tensioner that will make you feel confident over the oem auto-tensioners that are known to fail. I gave you all the information you needed to have a plug-n-play setup in your 98 prelude. I guess you are wanting to run the euro-r in its original JDM form that it came to you in Meaning keep the euro-r fuel rail distributor lower timing belt drive pulley and balance shaft pulley run the 3 wire IACV and EGR valve. If that is the route you want to take then below I listed the items you would need. HONDA PRELUDE V h22a4 97 Prelude wont rev past 5k RPM

I have a 97 honda prelude sh and recently replaced the clutch and flywheel. After putting the tranny back in a checking every connection multiple times it fired up and drives fine. But after getting to running temp and trying to roll into v-tec it rev limits at 5000rpm. I pulled codes and pulled a code 54 which is the crank fluctuation sensor. The weird part is if i drive in a higher gear at like 4000-5000rpm

It depends if the code was there before you tore into it or not. I suppose you could have wiggled loose a wire from the distributor connectors provided u unplugged them.

There was no check engine light before i changed the clutch. I did unplug the distributor leads. What should i look for on the distributor side I checked the Crank Sensor seems to be functioning properly. After unplugging it and checking the wires for a short or a break in the wire i plugged it back in and the check engine light is now gone. But it still wont rev past 5000. If you could point me in

Coming to a stop holding down the brake pedal it revs about 200-300 RPM so it will rev up to like 1300-1400. It started doing it after I replaced a distributor. Sometimes I can rarely feel it other times it feels like a downshift. Car is a 1994 prelude Si Automatic.

I have a 92 civic with a h22a4 swapped from a 2000 lude for one its hard to tell if vtec kicks in it is OBD1 with p28 ECU I have a pretty bad misfire at idle and 3000rpm. she has pretty good accel and the following has been replaced. plugs gapped to .03 caprotordiststartedaltwires EGR is not hooked up because obd1 doesnt recognize it. Again I cant really tell if its hitting vtec but it runs good besides hearing a terrible misfire from the tailpipe. Any idea what i should look for

Im trying to do a motor swap from a 1993 honda prelude vtech with a h22a1 in it to a f20b. Im not trying to get spoon fed I just want to know what all change is their to be made. Honestly Id keep the stock pistons and get forged rods instead. Factory pistons and sleeves are good for well over 300whp. Just reuse the alternator off your old car as well as the distributor. Its easier to make obd2 to obd1 then the other way around. LS trans and in H2B 1000ccs should be plenty fine but will need to be fine tuned.
