FORD FOCUS COBB Front and Rear Sway Bars and Lowering Springs impressions Focus ST

So I started modding the car. Thought process is before I add power (which it already has plenty of IMO) start off with the suspension so when I do add power the car can put it down. Had the TSB done so all the motor mounts are good and 12 days ago I had COBB Surgeline put in their Sport springs and the frontRear sway bar package. Wahoo -TSB eliminated the banging sounds and helped alleviate wheelspin.

Understeer. The feeling your car is plowing and wont turn in. Youd be better off ditching the sway bars ( at least the front) and up grade your dampeners. When you increase the lateral stiffness you gain stability but it makes harder for the car to rotate. If you were experiencing oversteer then I would add a rear sway bar. Make sure it adjustable so you can fine tune. Another thing to consider is

It must have been past Kevins bed time he has underover steer definitions backwards. Ron The issue is the was rear lowered more than the front (cobb is only slightly lower) and the front sway bar is stiffer than the rear. These changes will tend to make a fwd car under steer does that mean the car has less grip No and needs to be tested to determine that. It means that the balance of the grip front

Wow. Ive made a huge mistake then. So Ill see about getting the OEM FSB put back in next week. What about increasing ultimate grip Thats what Im looking for. I also thought that putting in slightly lower springs would increase turning performance due to a lower center of gravity Am I totally wrong did I read this wrong According to COBBs website The 1&8221 drop front and 1.1&8221 drop rear lowers the

Youve already got springs so get some dampeners to support that mod. See if its to you liking. If not add an adjustable rsb for a fine tune. Find that balance between play car and DD is half of the fun. httpwww.focusst.orgforumfocus-s...hock-page.html

FORD FOCUS III 2014 changes in front suspension

Ive read a few posts regarding that the 2014 focus st has a different front strutssprings set up that lowering springs that are out on the market right now dont fit to 2014 st.. is that true And what are the differences exactly if anyone knows. Thanks

Yes do not buy 2013 springs as they will not fit properly on the front. 2014 specific springs will be out shortly.

So I just ordered from CJ Pony Parts Eibach Coil spring Sportline Set focus ST 2013 I have a 2014 PB focus ST2 and just to clarify the front springs in this kit wont fit correctly on the front of my ST Does anyone know where and when there will be a kit like this for the 2014 ST Really need some clarification and help

Unless you go with a coilover kit then it will work on your 2014.

FORD FOCUS III front spring design change for 2014 ST

Anyone know what was changed with the front springs on the 2014 ST

See posts 26 and 27 from the linked thread below to see the change with the front suspension. Eibach ProKit and Sportline spring Sale I had the same exact issue with the steeda springs where the springs were too wide to fit the stock perch.

Originally Posted by PacDawg Just called Steeda and spoke with Rod to see if they might just give me a discount for other parts they sell to try to recuperate money lost from labor and that was denied. There wasnt even an appology given for my issue. Customer service at its best right there. I tried to tell him there are some variances with the 2014s but he would just not listen. I even said other spring manufacturers such as eibach and h&r are changing the springs for 2014 but that didnt change his stance on all this. He still says their springs will fit the 2014 and he has sold hundreds of them with no complaints. That is bull. They are a sponsor here. Use the part numbers and pictures in that thread and go post in their section please. They say their inlet tube will ONLY work with the Steeda CAI kit...when its obvious its an OEM replacement. Suddenly their stance changes when its easily proven. Now theyve giving you a runaround selling parts that will NOT fit a 2014. Rather unimpressed with their focus offerings as of late.

FORD FOCUS Suspension gurus need help Steeda springs vs Eibach Sportlines

Ok Im about to pull the trigger on some springs I was all set for the Steedas but I know the rear wheel gap will probably bother me but I want a spring that will benefit me the most when it comes to actual handling characteristics as I plan to track the car I see that the Steeda springs are rated to be stiffer than the Sportlines so on that case would the Steedas be the way to go then I usually go

Rate increase 15% (front OE springs 171lbin mountune 196.5lbin) (rear OE 183lbin mountune 210lbsin) Ride height reduction front 25mm1 Ride height reduction Rear 35mm 1.4 Includes revised bump stops MOUNTUNE SPECS

I need best spring that will launch the most groceries across the back of the trunk on my way home from the market changing lanes on highway safely and slowly and going fast in a straight line on said highway needs to be factored in. AND be dropped an inch a half (1.5) in front & rear. All 4 struts must be weeping in pain for the next 30-60 thousand miles before being replaced.( I maybe put 15k miles

195 and 240 are the respective front and rear spring rates. The stiffest of any springs on the market besides the new swift ones. Not to mention the steeda springs have the same drop as the mountune ones but are stiffer. Steedas springs have a very appropriate rate increase for their drop in my opinion and they are the ones I will be going with

FORD FOCUS Ive got a problem with front end noise after COBB springs install

I realize its not easy to diagnos a problem on the forum but I just had my springs installed yesterday and today i notice a mild grinding or rubbing sound when i turn right. The sound is like a mild sqeekish grinding rubbing type sound. I went over a speed bump and heard a pop. I thought it might have been a non secured plastic speed bump that flapped when I went over it. Any idea what could make that

Could be the spring wasnt seated correctly or something wasnt tightened down all the way. Thats where I would start my investigation

Originally Posted by Xedes Check your alignment and did you get new bump stops or did you cut your stock ones The alignment was checked and in spec. Good question with the bump stops. I never looked in the box but I assume new bump stops came with the COBB springs. Could bump stops make a slight noise The noise is like a metal on metal noise. Could be rubber squealing noise. Its not crazy loud. But

Originally Posted by armadaskier As far as I know the only lowering kit that includes new bump stops is the Eibach kit. My Steeda kit did not include them. I had a few squeaks after I installed my Steeda springs but it went away after about 25 miles The Cobb springs do come with new bump stops.

FORD FOCUS Front suspension TSB (related to the RMM TSB)

Hey all Happy Turkey Day I brought my ST for my RMM TSB diagnosis the other day. When I came back for the car my service advisor said they would order the parts for the RMM TSB but also mentioned a suspension TSBcampaign that would further reduce wheel hop. Ive been poking around the forums and web but cant seem to find anything related. Any thoughts I realize that this community is the obvious authorityexperts not the dealerships.

Wonder if this is for the squeak on some cars or if this is new. If new wonder if this coincides with the spring perch changes on the later production cars.
