Since Ive never done it before any tips or how-to on I should go about removing the front
bumper cover Im referring to the whole painted plastic piece that is below the hood in front
of the front quarter
panels. Not just the black grill with the ST logo in it the whole front
piece that includes that black grill. Do I need a specific specialty tool to do this Thanks
I did some quick calculations this morning. Most of the data was from Car and Driver. Gear ratios were mostly from Edmunds. The last two lines of each set of stats - I added 200lbs to partially simulate a driver and some gas in the tank. Then I ran the new weight and hp through an ET calculator. The results are very interesting. A change like that of the focus
ST and the Genesis says to me that both

Rwd break stuff with slicks too all the time.

Has anyone done a write up on how to remove the front
bumper with pictures i dont mind finding out on my own but would like some sense of direction before i start pulling my car apart
Toughest part is the bumper to quarter panel connections. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Is that a resonator and has anyone taken it off to see if it makes any measurable difference in powersound The engineer in me says it is just a part to quiet down the sound of the turbo since most car manufacturers are known for putting in sound restrictors (these however usually end up restricting power as well). Id like to upgrade to a more efficient intercooler as well but I dont feel like dropping 1100 for something that can be fabricated for a quarter of the price. Im just looking to get the IC core not the charge tubing. 2 . What size IC can fit in the stock location without extensive modification What cores on the market will bolt up if any I HAD THE COBB fmic installed at the first thursday meet and you can definitely tell a difference mostly after driving it for awhile and repeated romps. there hasnt been loss of power due to heat soak..heres a link to their page with the dimensions of the core its taller and thicker than the stocker. Hi all Im in the market for a new car and believe that the st is quite a bargain on paper. Since this is my first post Ill give a little background. Ive owned many fun to drive cars nissan 240sxs se-r sentras 3 series bmws. etc. Im a purist and love to drive without any assistance (ie stability control traction control abs automatic transmissions). Ive had a string of bad used cars lately the most
with an avenir sr20 pushing 7lbs of boost and most supporting mods (80mm exhaust small fmic poly engine mounts etc) nothing crazy. But it took one hell of a beating and never made any worrying noises. Ran 14.1 at 100 in the quarter spinning through all of first and most of second But It was full of rust and had to go. Please tell me that I shouldnt worry As the little warranty that is offered by ford
Got the car back from ford
for the 3rd time today. ford
says this paint matches and its Acceptible for the body panels to not match because they are made of different materials. What do you think If you dont think it matches please go to the ford
Motor Companys Facebook page and comment on my post there. Im trying to get traction on this issue and help is appreciated. The first pic is of the front
If its not possible how did they get it to match when you drove it off the lot I have a Performance Blue ST2 and the front skirt matches the front quarter panels.

Ive only had my 2013 ST2 focus
for a week now but I have already noticed an odd clunk on cold starts. It seems to happen when you turn the steering wheel while stopped... after a quarter
half turn or so I get a loud clunk from the front
end. It doesnt seem to happen again until the car has sat overnight. Any thoughts
Does anyone else who owns a TS ST notice the plastic parts of the car appear to be a different shade I took some pics but it appears to be the right shade in them granted it was taken with an iPhone and not a DSLR or something but to my eyes it looks different. I never noticed it before but now that I got my car back from the body shop after getting rear ended I am going over it like a million times
Originally Posted by Jstump2490 I assumed the whole thing was done at once but its possible they did the plastic separate. As many of you know my car had some major paint issues from the factory. Just got it back from the body shop today. They did a good job overall but they had a tough time matching the color of the passenger side roof rail to the rear wing on hatch (they didnt paint rear wing because its plastic). Check out the attached pics...roof rail on passenger side was re-painted roof rail on drivers side was not.
Hi Everyone My focus
was recently hit at a Lowes parking lot this past weekend. My car was parked and has some damage to the rear. I would like to have it repaired. Anyone know of a good shop in Orlando where I can take my focus
in for repairs Also I am interested in having the wheels painted gloss black while I am at it. I used to have a friend from my 350z days that was an excellent bodyman & painter.
It was 920 to get my front quarter panel fixed when someone hit me and drove off. Im still pissed about it. I feel your pain.
I know a guy in kissimmee actually who is very decent. He fixed the front quarter on my dads slk55 amg and it looks great.
I was washing my car last night and noticed that I have more rock chips on the front
of the car than I would expect for 13k miles. I dont drive on gravel roads most of my driving is freeway commuting and I dont tailgate. I think that eliminates all of the obvious ways that cause excessive damage. I guess I should have put the 3M film on my car. I would like to hear from others if they have had similar issues Thanks.
Just one little chip at the very front of the hood.. Grrrrrr. Whats worse is I was taking top off filter box and dropped ratchet and chipped paint on front quarter panel &k it doesnt matter how careful you are sht happens.
Was skateboarding at the local park when I looked up to see a giant Silverado truck backing into my ST. Girl had no idea what she was doing. FFS.
Bummer. Somebody got my front quarter today too. No dent just paint. It ruined an otherwise perfect day. Youre not the only magnet for idiots...
Just bought the spouse a new 2014 Escape Titanium. Anyone know of a good escape Forum as active as the ST one So far We love it has the same 2.0 ecoboost as the FST. TIA
Wife got her 2013 SE in 2012. I tried my best to get her the 2.0 but she was happy with the 1.6 (I wasnt). Her only requirement was that she wanted the Frosted Glass Whatever paint. I did talk her into getting the MFT to which she was delighted with once she got to play around with it. It still has quite a bit of pep to it though. Aside from a recall and taking it to the dealer twice to have them fix
Hey guys Ive had this since day one and mentioned it a couple times in different threads but Im not sure if my problem is the same as the taping noise at startup some are talking about because of the RMM. I have this creaking sound like walking on an old wooden floor coming from what seems to be the pedal area of the car. It seems to be caused by movement so its not a squeaky spring or anything. I
I have the same issue But this is what I think it is... if you open your driver-side door and look toward the front quarter panel youll see a large piece of black styrofoam-type material. This isnt present on any other vehicle Ive ever had and I think they added it as some sort of insulating or noise damping material. I am almost sure this is the cause of my squeaking. When I take it back to the dealer
Ever since I got this car I have noticed the amount of wind that seems to rush in when Im driving is crazy. Maybe its because my last few cars had those rainwind guards and I have became spoiled. Im talking crazy wind man. My rear seatbelts are smacking against the seat and everything. Granted its been windy out lately and yeah I may be going a smidgen over the speed limit but still... I havent seen
I cant drive with my front windows more than a quarter open or the wind blasts my ears to the point or severe discomfort. I do sit with the seat all the way back and as low as possible so I figure that is contributing to it but Ive still never felt wind like that in any of my previous cars.
I just got a my car back from the shop after some idiot hit the front
panel (basic hit and run). When I got in the car yesterday there was the hint of odor that one would find from painting supplies. I talked to the shop manager and he said that the car was taken into the shop the old panel pulled off and the new one was put on after they had already painted it so no actual painting was
Saw these posted on Facebook possible rs look at the front
bumper and the wider rear quarter
I cant believe someone had the gall to key my new ST No respect. The damage is deep well into the primer. I could run my finger nail into the scratch. Besides taking it to the body shop and respraying the whole door has anyone successfully tried to restore a deep key scratch Here are the steps I think I could do to restore it without having to respray the door using paint pens 1) Clean the area with
Damn dude... Had the same thing happen to my 06 in highschool... Girl problems in my case haha Sadly I had to he it resprayed... And it was front panel both doors and rear quarter panel. Not fun
Anybody know what the turbo upgrade was for the Cossie st at sema and how they did it
one thing i dont understand. If you want a fast car Buy a fast car. Dont go and ruin a nice car. I just learned that the hard way had about 2K in a 2004 Accord and really didnt get much of anything. Car was faster but still was just missing that little X-Factor. Why does every one think the ST is some kind of Pro-Comp to be master drag racer thingy. I thought the essence and true soul of the ST was

if you have a stock motor mount I would try to launch low and avoid wheel spin because its quite likely going to wheel hop. otherwise what others have said sport mode air down the front tires do whatever you can to get weight out of the car including keeping it under a quarter tank. and make sure your air conditioning is off windows up and your moonroof is closed if youve got one.
his garage CJ-8 and a few of his friends and employees to help pull off the biggest tire test ever. out of curiosity i checked out the tundra on the toyota website. If i were gonna get one it would be the 5.7 4wd crew max. however what is shocking is the wimpy 1575 lb payload My 06 cc se 4wd has a payload just a tad under 1400 lbs Doesnt seem to be a good tow vehicle with such a low payload. I guess ill wait to see what nissan offers for the next gen titan.
Toyota did not design it to ride like a car. There are certainly other half-tons that ride much better. think of it this way if you dont believe me... you can get a cobalt with an optional 260hp tcharged engine a mazda 3 with an optional 263 hp tcharged engine or a dodge caliber with an optional 285 hp tcharged engine. all three of these cars (the chevy cavalier mazda protege or dodge neon) once upon a time made around 100 hp. maybe the optional engine was around 120 hp and that was it. The ford
Was pulling onto the Freeway yesterday... I had to get into the left hand lane before my lane ended I saw a huge gap in front
of me and a ford
Thunderbird With like 10 semis Behind him... So I floor it and shoot to 70 and leave it their. When all of the sudden the thunderbird Lurches forward and stays on the side of me the Dude starts Staring at me like I have a problem I mash the pedal down and shoot
I had the same similar situation today with a freakin ford focus. He was trying to either impress me or just an idiot trying to kill himself. I WOTd on a open lane for about a quarter mile before traffic picked up again and I look at my mirror and saw a focus gaining up. Im about 90 and slowing down on the fast lane. He changes lane right next to me and started weaving in and out of traffic. My lane

All this Euro bumper chat makes me wonder... I have a set of three-piece Euro bumpers for my coupe that I am considering installing. But I have to think if hevan forbid I ever get into a fender-bender (or worse) will my insurance or the other motorists insurance still pay Have any of you folks ever checked if these mods could be considered disqualifying Seems like there has to be some fine-print out there somewhere. Im going to see if I can find my policy... FB
I have a 71 dodge and let me tell you those steel bumpers do some damage i took the whole front of a buick suv off of course it was her fault and my car was sliced from the fender to the quarter panel. I would hate to see what it would have been like if I was in a ford focus. Lesson to learn never borrow a vehicle from the dealership you work at then try to have your person insurance company cover
Since no one has yet to mention the show I will say my wife and I thought that Motorweek gave the 05 a pretty good report. Overall nothing bad and mostly positive words. Better than we expected though they did mention the 17 wheels being small. But the power really impressed them and the handling was good. It was encouraging to see a report that didnt put the car down.
Here is the transcipt from the show. Pretty decent review. 2005 Pontiac GTO Program 2423 American muscle cars are back in style but while the ford Mustang GT is hot Pontiacs reborn GTO has been a showroom dud mostly because of its slick but rather bland styling. But take the GTO to the racetrack and you quickly learn that you cant judge a book by its cover. The GTO is an awesome performer made even
