yea i no its a sporting i have but its standard unit and living in N.I. there arent very many seicentos about and even less sportings in the scrappy.

Rob Just spray the unit you have rather than buy a new one save yourself some money. The unit is detachabale P.S all sportings have re-circulation of air. Think its only the S model that deosnt have this

Evening People. Had a hard day fixing my new seicento today. Ive managed to get the central locking working and ive alradited the window to its seat so it doesnt come loose now. I am however having problems with this blasted heater unit. The problem is with the first dial on your left. It clicks to the first and second option but wont allow me to select the third. There seems to be some resistance

Evening fiatforum I spent a few minutes this morning removing the firewall and to see if i can solve the issue mentioned above. After removing the firewall i am massively unsure what i am doing. I didnt want to delve any deeper with out some help from someone with this issue before. I took a few pictures which i have attached. The photo with the knobs on is to illustrate the issue. Hi everyone My poor cinq got so hot that it apparently melted the heater unit so now my hotcold knob is stuck on hot air and its summer not nice on top of that I think its leaking coolant. So I was wondering if you guys know if ordering a new heater unit is enough or does the system consist of more parts Cheers Katana

you would need to look at the connections.you wont need a heater matrix(assume that the part your talking about)and may just need some plastic bits from the scrappy. not something ive done on the cinq but someone will be on soon who has im sure

The heater unit needs to come out to check whats gone gaga. First remove the battery then all the carpet stuff round the back of the engine bay then the air filter. Inside remove the dash cowl and release the heater unit from behind the heater controls. Under the bonnet again and release all the bolts holding the heater in. With a bit of wiggling it should come out into the engine bay. Cheers D

you can change it with out taking dash out done it on mine

On my Cinq I needed to remove the wiper motor & linkage first. Sadly I only worked that out when the heater was jambed by the wiper linkage Once Id got the heater back in and the wiper linkage out the heater came out easily. Cant see the Sei being that different.

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Heater Control Unit

The thing that turns the heater fan on and off (1-2-3) in the Cinq is broken. Ive tried removing the dash but you cant seem to get at it... I started to follow what it said in the haynes manual about getting to it and got as far as removing the covers wiper motor and arms and gave up when it said to start removing pipes and air filters and all sorts.. Is this really the only way of fixing it Or is

The whole heater assembly has to come out and that is from the engine side. So yes battery out airfilter off cooling system drained and disconnected remove carper bulkhead wiper mechanism and those are the bits I can remember. Inside dash cowl out and I think four screws holding the box into the dash. Have fun. Cheers D

Hi guys and girls recently registered and said hi after finding site whilst info searching. Need some help as my gf has bought a seicento as her first car she loves it small nippy and great for around town. the main problem weve got please bare with me as im new to fiats is the the main hose in the bottom of the engine that leads to a 4 branch which goes to the bottom of the rad into the heater matrix

Hi.. Now Ive got a problem with my heater dial. It cant be turned all up or all down. Just feels like it has a spring attached behind it.. The air coming out of it is medium warm no matter where I turn the dial. Is it a known problem And do any of you have a solution Thanks

Best bet is probably to remove the whole heater fanmatrix unit. Your best access is through the driver side (assuming left hand drive) carpet like insulation in the engine bay. There should be more information in the seicento Technical Manial in the downloads section.

Ok so I got my Cinq Sporting almost 2 years ago Problem is it more or less runs perfect and I have nothing to do with it Sooooo Today I picked up a 2000 seicento S for VERY small money and got a loan of a transporter and brought her home Now a few questions 1. The car is badged as a seicento S. Its year of reg is 2000. It certainly LOOKS like its an S (no colour coded bumpers mirrors etc) BUT when

they do cinq sportings in loads of colors red yellow blacksilverimola. there is loads of them. and the seicento sx was the 899 was it not and the s the 1108 engines. then they moved to the active with the 1108mpi units in. to change yours to a sporting you would need. bumpers arb supsension exhaust alloys tacho carbon look heater surround de-badge and jobs is a good one. say hello to the seicento sporting.

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Replacement of heater blower motor

Hello everyone I ordered a new heater motor for my 899cc cinq 94. The current one has a grinding bearings and doesnt work anymore (fuse 15A keeps melting upon activating the switch position to 12 or 3). I already found the access to the blower by removing the shroudcover under the hood but I was wondering if I have to follow a particular order when replacing the motor. Or if there are any known problems I may encounter.

Ok youve found one half of the equation. You will need to remove the whole heater box to get at the electrical connection which is cunningly concealed under the unit. After releasing all the bolts in the engine compartment you will need to go inside the car and remove the dash cowl and release the screws either side of the heater control slides to allow the unit to be withdrawn from the engine side. Removing the TB will help give clearance too. Cheers D

you cant really so anything with the camshafts as in the lifter are shim-less hydralics so no point thinking a a hill climb you want a nice low ratio to get off the line quickly (you all know the pain going up the hill in the wrong gear) so it could be worth going for a abarth gearbox(ask todger182 if he still has it and could ship it) there harder to find but should be good on 13 standard alloys with

About a year ago my daughter noticed that her car made ticking noises at 3-4 second intervals just now and then. Eventually I traced this to the windscreen motor - if the screen was fairly dry when the wipers were cancelled the motor would start to tick. yes but unfortunately it is on the underside of the heater unit. With the heater lifted (but with pipes still attached) it is possible to get to the screws with a small ratchet. You may find it is just the thermal fuse that has failed. The thermal fuse is the tiny silver bit of the resistor module.
