FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 The heater cock cable needs replacement

Hi. the cable of the heater cock from my Sei is broken and needs replacement. The problem is that I cant find a new one at the local parts dealers... I tried to look for one at scrap yard but no chance.... these cars are so rare in our country you cant find one at the scrap yard... and if you are lucky to find oane probably had a very bad accidento or the car is all toasted. Any suggestions Can I order

Never seen the cable you might be able to make one up (bike shop for bowden cable -- brake cables -- make up your own nipple(s) and solder them on) or -- for sure you can order one from fiat . Make sure the cock isnt seized up.

I think it is a solid wire thin coat hanger like wire but it will probably the cock is stuck from lack of use and that may have damaged the wire... Noel

from the back of the heater control panel. I have took down the carbon-fibre like panel (I think is called fascia) but I cant figure it out how to get access to the back of the panel that is behind the fascia... Is there any way to remove the cable without removing the whole dash Here are a few pics with the work in progress Attached Thumbnails         __________________ 99 fiat

So I should try and work from the engine bay ...The ABS will be a little in my way...but Ill try to handle that. With this job I will clean the heater vent and heater radiator too. So multiple benefits.

Anyone got a clue how to get access to this water valve (cock ). Am convinced this is why heater only blowing warmish. Willie1505.

i am assuming that you have a seicento as to my knowledge a cinquecento doesnt have one my cock decided to split so it was an random leak when water was passing through it enough of my cock stories though i had a garage fiddle with mine they said it was a to get to as it is behind all the fire proofing at the rear of the engine bay near the battery if i am not mistaken so im guessing it is a battery

im giggling at the post gaz made the fact that its called a cock and a bit at that your user name is willie as well. I dont know where the valve is. this thread may be of some help. httpwww.fiatforum.comcinquecento-seicento23767-i-have-sprung-leak-4.html i cant find the location of the part on eper

Here is the link for the cock on the eper httpeper.fiatforum.comnaviCPDPR...D1&GUI_LANG3 normally a bit of a pig to find but since Gaz put up the part number I just searched the eper for it Looks like it is attached to the matrix and blower assembly which as previously mentioned means its buried behind the insulation on the bulkhead. FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 not another seicento heater thread

Evening People. Had a hard day fixing my new seicento today. Ive managed to get the central locking working and ive alradited the window to its seat so it doesnt come loose now. I am however having problems with this blasted heater unit. The problem is with the first dial on your left. It clicks to the first and second option but wont allow me to select the third. There seems to be some resistance

remove the rear engine bay felt stuff the big section on the nearside then you can see the heater matrix etc and should be able to see whats going at the other end.. I have messed with mine a lot and never had the cable snag I presume you can unhook the cock and see which is at fault easily then though Cheers Krisitan

Evening fiatforum I spent a few minutes this morning removing the firewall and to see if i can solve the issue mentioned above. After removing the firewall i am massively unsure what i am doing. I didnt want to delve any deeper with out some help from someone with this issue before. I took a few pictures which i have attached. The photo with the knobs on is to illustrate the issue. THe knob clicks

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Newbie requires help heater cock

Hi Guys New to the site and need some advice. I have a S-reg sei sporting. When I bought the car the Heating wasnt working so today I decided to drain and bleed the coolant. While doing this I removed my thermostat and to my surprise there was no spring valve just the housing. Assuming this was my problem I duly replaced with a new item. After refilling the system I let the car come up to temp but

A significant blockage in the main radiator or engine coolant pathways would cause overheating the missing thermostat indicates something might be wrong. The heater wont work without the thermostat not good in summer but cold in winter all the engine systems are designed for optinium water temperature. If you can connect the heater matrix pipes together metal pipe and hose clips the system (normally)

I would agree wth most of what was posted but I would go for a new rad not that expensive. Reverse flush the system scrappy might be an idea for a cock. The heater comes out from the engine bay side but needs released from the dash. I must admit I could do a Cinq one blindfold but the Sei is slightly different. Welcome to the forum nice to see another west of scotland inmate. Cheers PD

The heater is the wrong side of the front bulkhead to come out from the dash side. Its the controls that need to be released from the inside then the whole assembly comes out over the engine once the induction is removed. Cheers PD

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Luke warm internal heater - Seicento

Im a newbie to a 2001 seicento Schumacher which during these cold times is only blowing luke warm at its hottest setting... Im suspecting the matrix but upon a forum search Im reading about some heaters suffering cock related issues - whats one of them Any assistance in explaining what could be at fault would be appreciated. All else is running well.

The Sei has a cock on the matrix that adjusts the amount of flow. If the cable from the control is not operating through the full swing of the cock youll noy get a full flow of hot water. Cheers SPD hazeyblue thanked for this post

Youll need to have a look at your cock to work out where the fault lies. Cheers SPD

Sorted... heater cable cock and matrix were all fine. Changed the thermostat and all is warm once again.

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Seicento Heater

Hi Got an issue with a seicento heater one moment it worked fine then all of a sudden stopped. Ive checked the basics such as fuses and also taken off the heating dash and checked for any loose connections but cannot find any i have read on here that the heater is also linked with the cig lighter have also checked for any loose connections but again there is nothing visible that i could see... Ive

Think you need a new heater cock search forum for sei heater cock and loads of threads should come up see if they relate to your problem

been look at Sei heater cock this affects the heat right I have got heat just the actual fan is not pushing the heat out... eg the faster i go the more the heat comes out however if i am stationery there is no air to be pushed out. Cheers

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Seicento S - Heater Blowing Cold again

Evening folks Wonder if i can pick your brains again My daughter has a seicento S 1.1litre 02 plate. I had a few issues with the cooling system way back in November 2012 but got it sorted with some great help and advice from the forum. However.... The heater is blowing cold again have bled the system and topped it back up and got it blowing hot again. Two days later it is blowing cold again. Coolant

of any leakage. Bleed the system again still cold. Gave up on bleeding the system as it didnt seem to make much difference. Coolant level has gone down from max to mid way between max and low. Felt reservoir tank and felt cold even though car had been running for over half an hour. Carefully took top off (i know i shouldnt) and felt coolant inside it was cold. Most strange. Any thoughts Does the seicento

Quote Does the seicento have a thermostat like in the old cars Could it be that that is preventing the system getting hot Yes unless some fool has removed it. If its stuck open the engine will take forever to get hot. If its stuck shut itll overheat very quickly. If cock is faulty generally itll simply not get hot (ever) or stay hot. Ming has a similar problem.

Evening all Thanks so much for everyones input on this. A bit of an update along with a further request for any advice. Daughter brought her car home this weekend so i could fit the replacement thermostat. She left Northampton with everything appearing normal checked Oil & Coolant levels (apparently even checked the windscreen washer) before setting off all found ok. As she left the A46 (with about

Id suspect the head gasket -- the only half way sensible reason for removing the stat is to fudgebodge an overheating issue. So compression test. They could have used one of those horrible sealing additives (Barrs Leaks etc.) which might have clogged the heater matrixcock. But compression test first.

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 seicento heater probs

own a 2000 sportingheater in car only blows hot airuses no coolantnew thermostatand bled the system still only hot air comes out any ideasthanks

Could be your cock has seized open.

What can I say cock really is the correct name for it its a valve (same kind of thing as a central heating radiator valve) that controls the water flow through your heater matrix. So somewhere near that under the soundproofing in the engine bay. Rallycinq will give you a more precise location no doubt...........

FIAT CINQUECENTO 170 Seicento heater air lock

Hi all I recently had to drain the collant and sisnce refilling the heater isnt working (fan runs but no heat). I have located what I think are two bleed points one just above the wiper fluid one at the back of the engine just under where the windscreen meets the bonnet. I dont seem to be getting much air out of either of them. Does anyone know if theres a bleed point Im missing or is it just a case of driving it until the air works its way through Many thanks Tom.

Could be cock trouble being a seicento. Cheers SPD
