So is it the egr valve or is it something else And please dont tell me to buy a reader of ebay like in other threads either you have an answer or you dont.

FIAT PUNTO II 188 188AX 1.2 8v 2004 ECU

Sorry for being basic but I have bought a code reader and need to trace the ecu to plug into for a reading. Some threads say its in the engine bay and in 2 parts and some say behind the internal fuse box. The engine management light stays on and I want to read the code to find the fault hopefully not the ecu itself. So which part of the ecu should I plug into for my codes. Be gentle coz I am new. Thanks......

Thanks Adamcot found the plug in point as you said and 2 pending faults showed up. 1)p0136 .O2 Sensor Circuit malfunction(Bank 1 sensor 2) 2)P0141. O2 Sensor Heater Circuit malfunction (Bank 1 sensor 2) I have cleared both the faults and the Engine management light has gone off. Should I be concerned about these 2 faults and replace some sensor and if so where is it Thanks....

1)p0136 .O2 Sensor Circuit malfunction(Bank 1 sensor 2) 2)P0141. O2 Sensor Heater Circuit malfunction (Bank 1 sensor 2) Does sensor 2 mean its the rear lambda probe that is faulty and would I be right in saying that the front and rear probes on this model are exactly the same Bank 1 means as I understand that its from a 4 cyl and if the reading read sensor 1 it would be the sensor nearer the manifold

FIAT PUNTO Engine warning light

I have just changed the cat and post cat lambda sensor on a y reg 1.2 16v sporting after two days of running the engine warning light has come on and stayed on although there has been no drop in power at all and the car seems to be running fine any ideas Regards Jay
