FIAT PUNTO Fault code advice

I took my car (02reg fiat punto 1.2 16V) in for a service today and they advised that I had four fault codes showing up when they checked the EDU. They said they couldnt tell me what they where unless I paid for someone from outside of the garage to come in and run the diagnostic test to tell me what the codes were which confused me as they gave me the codes with my service sheet. Anyway I looked up

FIAT PUNTO Punto P0351 & More... The story so far

Got an 2003 punto 1.2 8 Valve - 65k genuine - well maintained to service schedule etc by myself. 1. Had an intermittent misfire on start up for about 10 days or so if it appears (which it doesnt always do) it clears itself after a couple of minutes but was enough on one occasion to light the MIL and the code read p0301. 2. Now developed an intermittent starting fault - turn the key and the dash lights

FIAT PUNTO Punto Juddering Loss of power

Hi I have a mk3 (54 reg) punto and have been experiencing juddering of the car with loss of engine power and flashing engine management light. This only happens for a minute or so each morning. I have connected a diagnostic code reader to the car and it detects no stored faults DTCs. Has anyone had similar problems or have any other ideas for fault finding Thanks lcdm2808

Had the diagnostic machine running today whilst my partner drove got codes P0300 and p0301 random misfire on cylinder 1. Any common problems puntos suffer from in the ignition system Spark plugs are due to be changed soon so they will be replaced tomorrow. Lcdm2808

FIAT PUNTO II 188 188AX 2003 HGT engine missing no. cylinder

When I tried to start my HGT this morning the engine was terribly lumpy and the engine management light came on. As I have fiat warranty with AA cover I called them out and fault code p0301 was discovered (coil pack problem) The car was then taken to the dealer I purchased it from only to find out that they (and surrounding dealers) dont have a coil pack in stock. They didnt do any further diagnostics

FIAT PUNTO one time eml flashing

Evening all travelling to work this morning and noticed my eml started flashing going up hill this was about 7.20am and stopped flashing 2-3mins after it hasnt come on since could it be the weather that caused this And should I be worried John

Hi mate Yes codes will be stored BUT flashing EML will produce one of the following P1300 - Flywheel re-learn procedure req P0300- Random Misfire detected p0301 Misfire cylinder 1 P0302 Misfire Cylinder 2 P0303 Misfire cylinder 3 P0304 Misfire cylinder 4 You can rule out P1300 as that would cause a EML flash at idle. not when moving. So that leaves the remaining 5.... which all require old school investigation

works on Mk2 puntos is remove 70Amp fuse start the engine and refit the fuse with the engine running. theres no saying that this will work only that it works on puntos it MIGHT work on the stilo. As for the OBD2 port being pushed in too far... take another look. they are recessed quite deeply on RHD models due to the assembly being installed upside down compared with the LHD models (which is how fiat
