Answers and questions: fiat multipla side mirrors
Hi All. I have owned my multipla
(112000 on clock 72k when bought - old style) for 2 years now love it to bits but have a few questions... 1. Are both wing mirrors
supposed to fold in when you press the button The only one that seems to on mine is the drivers side
mirror. 2. The boot release button (just infront of the driver seat) when pressed what is supposed to happen. On mine you hear the electronic

I went to a scrap yard today and I have never seen so many multis an one place I brought a door mirror near side
the one it took from scrap yard had 3 wires the one off mine has about 10 and now my mirrors
wont fold any ideas mirror only cost a tenner with my new trims stereo front arial and loads of bits set me back 30 pound count believe it as so cheap for a car that fiat
want over 100 pound for
Heated electric-folding nearside mirrors will have 7 wires and a white connector block. Offside (drivers side for RHD cars) have an extra couple of wires if the car has climate control - the funny little pimple that sticks out on the far outer edge of the mirror on these is the external temperature sensor for CC . Most if not all ELX round-nose cars will be like this (not so sure about the very early 105 models - did they have climate). It sounds like youve taken a mirror off of an SX model.
Hi just wondering if anyone nows where the power feed to the folding mirrors
comes from i.e. fusesrelays the reason i ask is that my 1.9 jtd has no power to the ns folding mirror motor although the mirror tilt is working and the drivers side
mirror folds as it should not had the car long the mirror on it originally was broken so got one from the breakers. can anyone help 52 reg multipla
Is the bottom section of glass adjustable Id like to adjust mine but they are either seized or simply non adjustable. Can anyone advise before I break one trying Cheers Marty.
Hi No they are not seized they simply not adjustable as stated on owners manual... Driver side is basically factory adjusted to cover blind spot of the big mirror and passenger side is adjusted so you can see the kerb and not scratch wheels basically...
Another anoying problem with the car are the mirrors
they have a mind of there own being electric and the ns one flaps in the wind. Been like it 3 years thought it was about time to sort. Anyone had or have same problem and how it was fixed.
I had to fold my non-working mirror (LH) by hand to get it into my garage a couple of days ago to work on the rear calipers. Next day I switched the ignition on to reposition the car to get to the other side and the mirror started whirring and clicking. I switched them to deployunfold and the left one is now working as it should I fully expect it to fail again at some point but it will probably be fixable with a bit of work on the connectorwires.
When I got my multi the folding mechanism didnt work. I took the black box out then the random folding started to happen. But it gave them life which I grew tired of and CUT the wires (two of them on each side) which give 12 volt when the folding button is pressed. The motor on the passenger side was also failing to fold. I dont need the electric folding can operate the folding by hand.
Hello. Just convinced my wife a multipla
was the way forward and got one 2 weeks ago. Id been after one for a while but she needed convincing due to the individual styling. But shes chuffed to bits with it and so am I. Its a well looked after FFSH 1 owner low mileage car and after giving it a good service of all the basics Im in the process of starting to fix a couple of niggling bitty faults. I fixed
fix a couple of niggling bitty faults. I fixed the front interior light pod last weekend (usual sticking of switches dodgy connections etc) but I still cant get the interior lights to switch on when I open the nearside rear door. It also doesnt indicate on the dash as a door open so I presume the door switch isnt working. Problem is I cant see an obvious switch in the door post etc as on older fiats
Hello here are a few observations as a new owner of a 2002 JTD 115ELX multipla
. I found this site looking for an answer to an engine control fault warning. I had all the symptoms (except Kagarooing) that have been mentioned in this forum 3000rpm max engine speed & sluggish performance. Luckily when it first happened I was able to get a diagnostic at a friendly garage. It was PO236 overboost valve circuit.
Hi all just bought my first multipla
and must say Im impressed with the practicality of the car. All the childseats etc. in and loads of spare space. Very happy with the car. Couple of questions though... 1. What are those little mirrors
for below the main mirrors
They cant be blind spot mirrors
because they point down I thought they might be so you can see your rear wheels when parking etc. but dont
Hi there Our faithful Multi is no longer needed with the wife at home now so im looking for a realistic price for a quick sale. She is a 1.9Multijet 06 year with 33k on the clock in silver with blue cloth and a fsh and parking sensors. Ive tried Parkers etc and looking at Autotrader but cant seem to get a realistic price. Shes been sat outside
doing not much for a month so its a waste and a shame. Any help appreciated Tonker
I know how you feel I recently traded in a 52 reg multipla against a Panda. When you put the two side-by-side it was amazing to see how little a multipla is worth. My multipla had air-con alloys two electric sunroofs and electric mirrors - none of these are on the 55 reg Panda.
Hi When my 1.9jtd multi is warmed up set on high and knob turned far left for centre blow position the air blasts out and is quite hot When I direct it to the windscreen it doesnt seem to blow near as much air. (dont know if its me but it doesnt seem to get as hot either) Is there a fix for this or is it typical of the car having a weak system thanks again martin
of air is dissipated somewhat (probably wrong spelling of an incorrectly used word here but you get my drift Im sure.). And just increasing the fan speed I have found doesnt really help. Its like trying to get two Margate girls through a doorway. No matter how hard you push it aint going to work the gap isnt big enough. A couple of things to try to see how quirky the heating system is on the multipla.

Ill just have to keep searching and see if i get lucky...yes i need to sort those mirrors and i thank you for the advice but as you can see from other thread i have to sort rear suspension arms as priority...

can anyone please tell me if there is an air-con sensor situated in the drivers-side
wing-mirror as i have just replaced mine and now the air-con faulty message appears on the dash... if its not one thing with this car its another. surely got an italian temperament and only works properly when it feels like it. would appreciate any answers greatly
If your old mirror housing has got a little pimple on its lower right hand side (as seen from the drivers seat) then that is the temperature sensor. It is linked to the climate control on ELX (round nose) and Eleganza (square nose) models so if you fit a mirror that hasnt got the sensor youll get an air-con fault flagged up. Heated folding mirrors without the sensor have 7 wires running to the white
Hi I am new to the multipla
and have been looking at the different settings on the main display. I noticed their is no outside
temperature displayed on my model. My question. Is all the wiring in place as standard so I can just fit the sensor to gain the outside
Did you check both mirrors Im not sure if the temperature sensor moves to the side the steering wheel is on (if you see what I mean).
Picked up the first of two on Saturday... Horn - hilarious I laughed out loud meep meep mirrors
- as another poster has commented wouldnt look out of place on a transit van but safe enough I ordered a metallic black - so the massive mirrors
are black plastic rather than truly colour coded... No badges - How do I know im actually driving a Dynamic Eco Plastic new car smell - not a fan...im sure that
too. I think the 100HP has raised edges around the dials the others have the 3D effect print I agree the new print doesnt look quite as good as the old one which was more basic but looked a lot better for it. I think the pointers are exactly the same. Quote Bigger mirrors may not be pretty but I had a few near misses joining motorways with the small ones on my 4x4 until I got used to them. The multipla
No real purpose to this post except to vent. Somebody decided it would be fun today to put a few dents and crack in the paint around the passenger wing mirror of my B. Not an easy fix so trying to sort out how I can afford the respray sooner rather than later. Grrr.
