If it does fit can someone tell me where the relay is in the car. Thanks June. I am currently breaking a marea that has remote central locking. Mail me at rjabellyahoo.co.uk for more details.

Dave i think you are on about the punto locking kit if so this will not fit a marea as there is no relay in the glovebox there is a control unit under the backseat.i know this because i have tried to fit one myself.

Hi John and welcome to the forumD Sorry I cant find that info for you. Can anyone else help
You may be right polecat but because i was looking for a central locking relay did not really take much notice of anything else thanks for your help anyway. The reason i want to find to relay is because i have bought one of those remote locking things from fiat where you just change the relays over.i had one on my punto but the instructions do not include a marea but they have the bravo and brava listed
you need a 4 digit code. im still not certain if each remote key should have its own code or if each central locking system should have its own code. reading the fiat literature suggests each remote key comes with a 4 digit code and to program any remote into the central locking you need to use any code from a remote that is already programmed in. when new your car had 2 remotes already programmed
Failing Jugs advice which is usually right there may be some info in here of help. httpwww.fiatforum.commarea-techn...alarm-fob.html
also see this thread today i posted the procedure used to reprogram remotes into the central locking & alarm interface. httpwww.fiatforum.combravo-techn...htcoderemote
it is negatively switched so there must be a short to earth on the locking circuit. alternatively the relay (behind glovebox) is stuck.
you should be able to crack on and use the same type as the bravoa. hope you enjoy youre marea as much as i do . ( sorry forgot to add as long as you have standard central locking it will worK)
Think youd need to get the fiat meta type alarm as you wont have the remotes.
you dont need to do anything it already cant lock when boot or door is open.
Hi I know that jug. And its working like that at the moment. Now the central locking do not know if the doors are open. It just try to lock doors and if one or more is open unlocking is done by mareas ABI unit. As I wrote earlier automatic locking feature can be canceled by opening doors or boot. VDO also has a feature that flashes lights when door is open and you try to lock doors. For that I need
No but can get through fiat have already enquired if they have them on database. What do i do after i have them
Hi The setup is shown here. httpwww.fiatforum.comshowthread....ghlightbutton Good luck
My central locking wouldnt work and it turned out to be the switch on the rear tailgate (passenger side) was not closing properly. Hope you get it sorted out.
you probley should have bought a fiat kit. its just a plug in relay. saves a the messing with wires.wiring wise i dont know
you need to remove the glove box to access the central locking relay. the relay pins are numbered. use the wiring diagram in the haynes manual to figure out which pin is for the common wire (cant remeber off the top of my head). to join your new wire to the common its easier to simply push the wire into the relay socket and then put the relay in to keep the wire in place. when i last installed central
Hi DCDK and welcome to the forum If you look at the centre light console in the roof of the car you should see two alarm sensors a small button and an led light. Im not certain but if this is fitted and the led activates when you push the button then I would expect that the radio alarm is fitted. I would expect that an HLX would also have central locking. Can you ask another dealer You may get a different answer if they think they are going to get some money off you. Good luck.
If you phone fiat HQ Customer Services they can tell you everything about your car with the chasis number. Get them to fax it in writing too as thatll be exactly as it is on their system. HTH.
Ok I have the reciver in my centre light console and there are 2 bouttons there when I push the key nothing happens it lights up but no doors open. Can I reset the alarm in some way I have the red key and the 4 digit code to Also I have got 2 small strange keys whit the car looks like some keys to a bike lock
if you sit in the car and push the pin down on the door do the locks bounce or all lock up okay

sounds like youre using the actual lock and unlock wires rather than the lockunlock signal wires for the relay. when i fitted remote central locking to a bravo i removed the glovebox and then used the yellow central locking relay to identify the correct signal wires. i would also check that the wires on the central locking controller are actually earthing for a second when you press the remote (check with multimeter) just to make sure youve got it set to negatively switched mode.
Hi i bought this off ebay httpcgi.ebay.co.ukRemote-central...QQcmdZViewItem fairly easy to fit very good range and a good quality fob and button easy to fit. All you really need to do is take a permant live from the fuse box behind steering wheel and trace the two wires from the drivers door. 1 is white and the other is blue. These are the open and close and can be found under the plastic kit plate on the drivers side (cant remember if white is open and blue is closed if you get it wrong just swap over 50-50 chance of getting it right). then run the two indicator wires to the hazard switch so that the indicators flash. Some of the electric bods on here may have another way buts how i have done it on my last 2 mareas cheers smtvlive
I have found a really good system from META Meta HPA 2 Remote CDL httpabacuscaralarms.co.ukstorev...Meta%20HPA%202 FEATURES Two 2 button remotes using 128 bit antiscan antigrab technology Status output LED Full central locking output control Total closure output (if fitted by manufacturer) Flashes indicators Positive output for other modules (such as windowsunroof closures) Built in Immobiliser Output
I have a marea 1.6 SX with no remote locking I have noticed that the passanger side wont unlock any doors not even the passenger door itself is this a fault or like the OP is asking is there a way to turn features on and off I had a car once that you could have various door locking security ie double locking etc
Quote I have a marea 1.6 SX with no remote locking I have noticed that the passanger side wont unlock any doors not even the passenger door itself is this a fault or like the OP is asking is there a way to turn features on and off The passenger door should be able to unlock all doors. My system only only fails in very cold weather and its both doors that wont unlock. I guess i need to lubricate the coils. Michael
here- httpcgi.ebay.co.ukREMOTE-lockING...QQcmdZViewItem only thing is it only comes with 1 remote i wouldnt like the thought of the ebay person having my address and possibly having a central locking remote for my car
i had one of those on my punto just plug in and go but the marea is totally different there is no relay behind the glovebox it is under the back seat.fiat will tell you the same thing but they will fit bravo and brava.
The fuse isnt a problem. The fuse for C.lock is simultaneously the fuse for a front el.windowsel.light in a cabin....
