FIAT MAREA 185 Just thought Id pop in and say hi...

I bought a fiat about three weeks ago... Late 1999 marea Weekend 2 litre 20v (vis) HLX in white. One previous owner full service history (and reciepts for anything and I mean anything its ever needed). Theres not a mark on it anywhere immaculate inside and out and underneath too Its like driving a new car to be honest. So far its still completely standard aside from my Pheonix Gold component speakers

FIAT MAREA 185 1.9 TD Airbox

Hi Ive got a 98 (S) fiat marea Estate 1.9 TD (100) Ive attempted to change the air filter but found the 2 bolts that hold the top of the air box are just turning and the top of the air box only lifts about one inch (the 2 side bolts are missing as well). Ive removed the air box mounting bolts (front and rear) and lifted the air box out a bit and saw that the 2 bolts that hold down the top of the air

FIAT MAREA 185 Marea turbo engine

My parents gave me their marea Weekend 1998 with a 1600 cc engine broken motor (head is damaged) and i have viewed some cool videos at youtube a car with a highly tuned engine (220 bhp stock from a coupe 2.0 20 valve turbo ) And i wish to tune that maybe to 250 bhp ofcourse i need a engine for the job or just a normal engine (based on money) Has someone got such an motor for sale

Your needing to check breakers for engines or ebay and autotrader for complete coupes to strip for bits. Bear in mind tho if your planning on doing the conversion using parts you will need almost the complete front end off a coupe. You wont be able to just slap the engine in. You have proberly seen the brassilian ones that came as Turbos standard. There however is currently a bit of a race on to get a marea turbo done and on the road between a few members. You could join that.

FIAT MAREA 185 Oily liquid in passenger footwell

Hi all My car is a marea Weekend 1600sx...2000 X reg. 74000 miles. Had her 4 months and done 12000 troublefree miles BUT a pool of something that I originally took to be a water leak has gathered on the passenger footwell floor. Actually though its oily. Doesnt seem to be getting any worse. No leaks anywhere under the bonnet and never need to top anything up. Engine runs like a sewing machine and heater

and no leaks or exploding engines. Glad I didnt need to use a raw egg. If the car does just happen to explode into a ball of flames while sat on the drive then this is my disclaimer The information given by myself on this thread is provided in good will and you acknowledge that it would be very unreasonable to hold me in any way liable in respect of the information given by me regarding your marea.

marea 1.8 elx. Never have to take engine out to do those. Only 2.0 litre engines And thats to what garage is doing job. You only get about 2 hours for the complete job.. P.s why is everybody compairing it to a 2.0 litre 20 vavle engine You Can Learn Something New Everyday Of Your Life

FIAT MAREA 185 Turbo for the 1.61.8 Help.

Hi guys sorry to address you both so directly but from doing a lot fo reading you guys seem to know turbo s and superchargers really well just looking for an opinion on wether a 1.6 or a 1.8 turbo or supercharged engine would be viable My idea is basically a lightweight engine rather than a big 20v lump (plus i wouldnt have to change the hubs full front end) So basically is it a realistic idea Cheers in advance Will

FIAT MAREA 185 egr ecu disable

hi does any of you know how to disable egr valve from ecu on 1.9 jtd ...what software etc... thank you

You know they sell metal plates just for those engines. Block it completelypartially no need to mess with the ecu .

hello the only simmilarity between those two engines are the looks the na engine isnt buildt for turbocharging so you are better of buying a complete engine with ecu from a coupe 2.0 20vt... cheaper too should be straight forward bolt out bolt in swap its probably just to plug in the ecu too then go out and spend 1500 quid and weeeehaaaa 370hp for you sir

FIAT MAREA 185 130JTD start problem

Since the temp dropped the car doesnt start first time. Glow plug lights do what theyre supposed to then as you turn the key to start the starter motor almost bogs down and all the dash electrics go off and the radio loses its time If you then try again it starts fine the starter giving plenty of chug. and it starts on the 2nd or 3rd neuggh (or however you spell the noise a starter motor makes while

2.2kW starter with reduction gear...with good battery it should have no problems (early 1.9 engines share same starter if you ever need to find one newer ones have 2kW marelli or 1.8kW bosch but should still fit). Maybe first start welds the corroded contacts back together Get someone to measure direclty from the batteryterminals with multimeter when starting. If the voltage at terminals with slow

Wow thanks for all your replies there is some really useful info there I havent had chance to look at the car any further yet due to the weather we are having some terrible winds here in Pembrokeshie at the mo and apparantly we are all to be covered with snow soon Renegade thanks for the link I will check that out now Jug Thanks for all the info much appreciated the exhaust and Cat is new for &163120

FIAT PUNTO Inlet and TB on 8v

ok so I was messing around trying to work out a custom induction kit using what I have lying around and I couldnt help bu noting how pathetic the stock TB and inlet are so what I was wondering was is there a larger better designed one thats a straight fit maybe off a 1.4 or a newer 1.2 8v. Any advice would be great im not looking for the world from this car just some cheap simple mods lol

Theres no bolt on fitment (stud placement). Later 16v are FBW (probably later 8v too). If you can get the complete inlet mani off an early 16v (or possibly off a marea) you could maybe cut the TB flange off and with some cunning dremelling and a super epoxy use that to enable the fitment of a bigger fiat TB . No guarantee that it would work but the only alternative is a non fiat TB and an aftermarket

FIAT PUNTO GRANDE PUNTO mph1000rpm

I have always felt my t-jet is too low geared at about 22mph1000rpm in 5th. It is noisy and thirsty on the motorway as a result. I was wondering what other puntos are like Particularly starjets and diesels.

There is a solution to this problem if you have a 5 speed T-Jet. I recently put one of these engines and boxes in my Uno and found the original ratios very low since I have smaller tyres than you guys The solution is to find a turbo diesel box from perhaps a Mk2 Punto old Bravo marea GP Diesel etc. and use your T-Jet bellhousings on the diesel box. This does mean completely dis-assembling and re-assembling unfortunately but you will have all the legs you want.

FIAT BRAVA 182 New Engine. Which should i choose

I have a 1.2 Bravo 2000 model. I am planning to change the engine because the 1.2 is too slow for me and with my temperamental way of driving doesnt seem like its gonna hold much longer.. The answer to my question is not straight-forward but I want to hear as much as possible. What engine should i install (Buying another car is out of the question because of the extremely high fiat Bravo prices in
