Im experiencing a similar problem as the origator of this thread with my 28 JTD - 2005. At standstill or moderate (car)speed the wipers works just fine but at highway speed or strong headwind the wind pressure causes it to pass the pillar on the drivers side (left hand drive). The wiper arm is not loose on the spindle so I guess there is either too much play in the linkage or some loose part(s). Does anyone have a hint on this Thanks Mat
i have the same problem with my ducato 2.8 idTD.i removed the battery and the alarm and now the van is not starting. the problem started when i was repairing the wiper arm linkage...when removing it i damaged the preheat box.replaced a diode and capacitor on the box.but at the same time removed the battery and alarm. any help on how to disable the alarm or reset it thanks
If this is a loose piece of cable not taped in the loom and just stripped back and clamped under the pos term it will most likely be for an accessory. Have you checked all electrics. It could be supply to a drivingfog lamp relay air horns amp etc. If all electrics work ok then tie the wire back out of the way but watch the wiper linkage above the battery.
Why dont you strip the wiper linkage assembly & clean & lubricate wheel boxes up.I had to do this 2 yrs ago after a previous owner had replaced the wiper motor with a new one & that burnt out due to spindle corrosion & partial seizure. Farty
