FIAT DOBLO Wiper Linkage

Here goes prevoiusly discussed by other people the wiper linkeage has given away elastic bands last for a while any body know how to fix it or should I just drill it and use a bolt or split pin Look forward to hearing from you all oh the last doblo It had did two hundred and eighty nine thousand miles on the clock it died. It was a 1.9JTDELX car. Shame about the wipers. Graeme.

Mine had to be replaced a couple of months ago too. Whole set motor and linkages. Suddenly I just had a single wiper working at night at work fortunately in front of me but...very annoying And expensive. Apparently this is one of the doblos weaknesses. The dealer was brilliant though and did it on the spot the next morning..

I found the thread about the linkage repair. At the time I had made a cockup due to getting the different arms mixed up but I did the job again and its still going strong. One of the problems on mine was always that the sweep was too great ie the wipers try to go off the edge of the screen at both extremities of movement. I think this introduces extra inertia at the start of each sweep. I also have endless electrical problems with the wipers. sometimes they even come on when switched off httpwww.fiatforum.comdoblo63430...mechanism.html

and does anybody knowcan I use linkage from any other fiat or it fits only from doblo my friend has a fiat junkyardso if it fitsI would gladly buy it frome himthan newbecause new comes with motorand it is pretty expensive for me

FIAT DOBLO Wiper Linkage

Hi peeps I am having problems with my wipers and sounds like a common problem by the looks of things and I am trying too avoid paying over a hundred quid to replace the whole mechanism when the motor works fine... I found on a previous thread that the genuine fiat fix for the faulty wiper mechanism is to simply drill through and fit a split pin where it comes apart. Can anyone back this up and does

Do a search for wiper under the doblo section Im sure the whole split pin thing has been done before and has worked... Might be worth doing a whole forum search too as Ive definitely seen it somewhere

look in punto section

I hope this will help httpwww.fiatforum.comdoblo82878...-problems.html

FIAT DOBLO Wiper Motor Wanted Dont Need Linkages

I know this should be in the classified section but I cant find anything under doblo and I cant work out how to place a wanted ad. Ive had bother with the intermittent wipe for a couple of years now. I enquired at the fiat dealer today and they reckon the relayelectronics are all in the motor unit. I know some of you have renewed the whole assembly due to worn balljoints in the linkage. I wondered

If his system is really workable then Id buy it. I had a whole new linkage - including motor - which I was told Id have to have and I wasam pissed off frankly. This is a weakness that should by now have been designed out. There are others we know of of course and I cannot understand why fiat doesnt modify the designs to make a more reliable and consequently better admired product. But then i am a perfectionist sometimes

It would be a workable system I too bought a new linkage after mine failed coming over Snake pass on a cold rainy night... With some miles of the M6062 still to do... With no driver side wiper... butchered the old linkage enough that it wouldnt fall off and drove slowly home on intermittent... Will get pics of the modified linkages. But must say they do look pretty darn good. All turned items are er

Sounds great and er not easy for a technical incompetent like me. But I have a good garage at the end of the road with real blokes who can fix stuff. My linkage broke with the drivers side still operating which was a bonus but the price of the repair still stings -and I have never ever had such a thing happen before and nor has anyone else I know. I occasionally drive an ancient Vitara which is still on its original everything (exhaust blowing though) and lives under a block of flats for most of the year and is then belted into life and expected to perform faultlessly and it does...with any number of different drivers. I am very fond of my doblo but I dont really trust it any more

Might be worth talking to the stilo owners as they have the same issueas i just fixed the gfs one with drilling the ball joint and clipped through the ball to hold the wiper assembly one but will need a new one eventually

FIAT DOBLO wiper linkage& diesel filter

Sold my Dobby just to fragile and too many things going wrong. Uprated wiper linkage inc. motor and diesel fuel filter for sale here httpcgi.ebay.co.ukwseBayISAPI.d...m280340654943 and httpcgi.ebay.co.ukwseBayISAPI.d...m280340393788

Glad you found it. Other models have had similar experience and Wipex seem to be the company to go to. If they dont already have a sytem to fit they will take details and create a new one - and if youre the first they seem to give you the kit free for being the guinea pig. Now thats what I call reciprocal service See here httpwww.fiatforum.comcroma28458...kage-rods.html and Wipex httpwww.wipex.co.uk

some one from here already took the first free one then buggered off without making a guide

I did mine a couple of weeks ago the wipex guide is fine at it is very very easy to do.

Dont forget to strip spindles clean & re grease or you will find new parts wear quick. On both ours the Pax side was the tight one with rust rather than grease. It is easy just remember where washers fit.

FIAT DOBLO wiper fault on doblo

Just noticed that only the drivers wiper is working on my doblo. Do I need anew likage or is there something peculiar about the doblo I should know (cargo 1.4 mjet 167000 miles)

Or the wiper arm isnt securely bolted on. If its the linkage then the Wipex kit on ebay does the job and is much cheaper than a whole linkage and motor set from fiat
