FIAT DOBLO wiper fault on doblo

Just noticed that only the drivers wiper is working on my doblo. Do I need anew likage or is there something peculiar about the doblo I should know (cargo 1.4 mjet 167000 miles)

Originally Posted by john7 Just noticed that only the drivers wiper is working on my doblo. Or the wiper arm isnt securely bolted on. If its the linkage then the Wipex kit on ebay does the job and is much cheaper than a whole linkage and motor set from fiat

FIAT DOBLO Rear Wiper blade

Can anyone tell me where i can purchase a rear wiper blade for the fiat doblo 1.2 v 2004 model. Everywhere i go they say i have to purchase the whole arm is this correct I know that you can just clip the wiper blade out of the arm so why cant you just buy that bit

FIAT DOBLO Wiper Linkage

Here goes prevoiusly discussed by other people the wiper linkeage has given away elastic bands last for a while any body know how to fix it or should I just drill it and use a bolt or split pin Look forward to hearing from you all oh the last doblo It had did two hundred and eighty nine thousand miles on the clock it died. It was a 1.9JTDELX car. Shame about the wipers. Graeme.

I repaired mine using little ball joints purchased from an engineering firm. They screw onto a stud or bolt like a track rod end. I had to cut off the old socket section from the pressed steel arm and weld a bolt in its place then screw the new balljoint plus a locknut onto the bolt. The old ball section can be knocked out using a punch and the new joint attached with a bolt and nuts. I did post a message about this at the time with photos.

I found the thread about the linkage repair. At the time I had made a cockup due to getting the different arms mixed up but I did the job again and its still going strong. One of the problems on mine was always that the sweep was too great ie the wipers try to go off the edge of the screen at both extremities of movement. I think this introduces extra inertia at the start of each sweep. I also have endless electrical problems with the wipers. sometimes they even come on when switched off httpwww.fiatforum.comdoblo63430...mechanism.html

IVe had both linkages break on my doblo. What i did was made a small strip from 2mm thick sheet aluminium and bent it to make a bracket that i screwed onto the horizontal linkage coming up and over the vertical linkage arm to stop the ball joint seperating. done 80000 miles since and no further problems

FIAT DOBLO Simple () question on wipers

Bought new Bosch wiper blades from Halfrauds for Mrs Os doblo. In the box were two little plastic clips for fiat apllications. Could not work out where to put them from the little piccy on the box so out them in the tomorrow tray. Today drivng at 70 in heavy rain the passenger wiper blade came adrift from the arm and started waving around in space. Could this be due to- 1. Me not pushing it on properly or 2. Me not fitting the clips - if so where the h0ll do they go Obadiah

FIAT DOBLO doblo rear wiper and m.o.t

my rear window wiper armblade will not operate on my doblo could someone please tell me is it required for the m.ot as i was thinking of removing the whole arm and blade as i know on some cars there is no rear wiper.

FIAT DOBLO Wiper Mechanism

Some weeks ago I bought a small ball joint from a local engineering shop. The idea was to repair the wipers on the doblo. The ball joint for the linkage to the passenger wiper kept falling apart but you have to buy the whole assembly to renew even the smallest part. This week a customer who also has a doblo van gave me a spare wiper assembly. She had renewed hers for a different fault so the balljoint

robbed from the donor assembly worked OK until a few weeks ago. This time it was the drivers wiper that kept coming adrift. Obviously this is more serious that losing the passenger wiper. Also when its the drivers one it shoots past the dge of the screen and wraps round the edge of the door scratching the paintwork into the bargain I had to drive to Dumbarton last Sunday to pick up a motorbike (doblo

Hey Fido Ive been told by a valeter friend in a local fiat dealer the genuine fiat fix for the faulty passenger wiper mechanism is to simply drill through and fit a split pin. Be careful the arm is tempered steel and if you break the bit youre screwed and you need a complete mechanism...sweet eh

FIAT DOBLO Fiat doblo wiper problem

can anyone help me my wipers have started to stop occasionally. when they start working on intermitent they soon loose regular wipes and stop. i fiddle with the arm and it starts again. is it the wiper arm that is at fault or the relay. please please someone help me

FIAT DOBLO Windscreen Wiper Park Position

Just incase anyone hits the wipe when they have snow on the windscreen and mess up the wiper prak position here is a few hints at what to look for. I never found anything very useful on the net this afternoon so decided to write it up here quickly in case anyone was as stupid as me earlier. My windscreen wipers found a new park position at the most vertical point of the sweep Its actually very simple

Erm... Why not just unbolt the wiper arms and rotate them to your preferred park position Or am I missing something here I know my Dobbie from new parked the arms on the visible portion of the windscreen - I removed the caps on the arms removed the nuts after a bit of persuasion they lifted off and I moved them around a notch or two on the shafts. Jon.

FIAT DOBLO Wiper problems

Hi All My 02 doblo has lazy wipers. If they are on intermittant they work for a few minutes maybe 10 and then stop working. I then have to turn them up to speed 2 and back up again quickly and they usually work then. Its a pain and the problem is growing especially now that the weather has become colder. They dont like to be disturbed in the cold ( a bit like the driver). Im not going to my local dealer as he is a robber. Anyone ideas

Thanks for that. 2 years ago the passenger side wiper stopped altogether and I returned it to the dealer where I bought her. The problem was rectified by a new wiper assembly motor being installed. I since found out the official fix from fiat Ireland is to drill out the passenger arm and fit a split pin when the polyurethane bush wears out. If you break the drill bit a complete new assembly must be

FIAT DOBLO Problem with front wiper

My passenger side windscreen wiper is not working despite the driver side one (and rear) still working. Ive checked the fuse and that seems okay and thats the limit of my experience so does anyone have any idea what the problem could be Any help would be appreciated as other half is getting fed up of not being able to see out the window

cause is the wiper linkage rod on the passenger side has come offcheck if you can gently move the wiper on the passenger side and if it moves independently of the drivers side. If so remove the black plastic cap on the wiper arm and check the securing nut is secure 13mm. If it is then its the rods adrift can be refitted but will come off again because the ball and socket on pivot are worn. fiat

have you tried tightening the arms might have slipped on splines undo cap on arm tighten nut

Hi I had a look at the wipers and the nuts are very tight on the splines the wobble seems to be further down inside the car - I imagine where the linkage arms connect.

FIAT DOBLO Replacement Doblo Rear wiper

Does anyone know where you can get a replacement rear wiper for an 09 model. I cannot find them anywhere other than fiat who from memory wanted about forty pounds. I dont think you can replace just the rubber Any suggestions welcome.

I think I will give halfords a try then. fiat told me I had to replace the whole blade and metal arm which is why it was so expensive. Seems a bit extreme to me. Thanks Matt

Just been to my local car shop (very good shop) and they had a Champion refill for the doblo and various generic ones and not one of them would fit. The problem is with the Blade that is in it thickens out at one end and a hole each side for the pins that are in the arm to gold it in place. All the refills would slot in but there was nothing to stop it sliding out of place. Theyre calling me on Monday to see if Champion have any other ones but will try Halfords later. Thanks for your help.

FIAT DOBLO drivers wiper is bust advice please

Whilst 2hrs from home today with the temp at 0c some rain and 50 miles of single track to drive my drivers wiper stopped working. Upon inspection the joint where the arm meets the horizontal barrod that moves both wipers together had come apart. Not the best tech explanation I know. Anyone else had this happen It seems to be just a push together join held by rubber gromets or similar unless a bit has

FIAT DOBLO wipers

Yesterday I bought some new wipers ( the last ones having gone the distance from new...6 years longer it seems than some on here would expect) Champion EZ click Aerovantage. Took the old ones off and....mystery time. The new clip is not like the old one and the on the drivers side it seems you get a choice of two marked CH31 and CH24 on the diagrams (and another tiny piece of plastic that seems to

Always a bit tricky sound like youve done it ok basically if you cant slide them down off the arm again once they have clicked then theyre on and secure. gdrumfoot thanked for this post

FIAT DOBLO Needing wipers

I need new windscreen wipers. Wheres the bestcheapest deal dealer or Halfords - do Halfords stock them even And can I (easily) change them myself. I have been able to on previous cars but......

I fitted a set of wipers to my last car a mitsubishi L200 was in a hurry one night driving on the motorway in really heavy rain when the drivers side wiper flew off ended up having to put the passenger one on the driver side and then bend the passenger arm up so it didnt scrap the windscreen to get home.

FIAT DOBLO Suspension arms

Just had to have (after failing its MOT) two new front lower suspension arms fitted. Both sides suffered the same problem- front bushes worn out. Anyone else had this Slightly miffed you cant just buy the two bushes and have to buy the complete arms. Other than that having now had the car 12 months its been brilliant Bar the wiper linkage failing on me the other night Fortunately Id actually just gotten

Just had both arms replaced on Mrs_Gs Cargo at approx 340000 miles. There was some movement in one of the ball joints so it seemed sensible to replace both sides as they are both original units. The garage were supplied with the wrong versions to start with but luckily they noticed and ordered the heavy duty ones for the cargo. wiper Mech Mrs_G is on her third mechanism. I put it down to poor materials - my van has a very similar mechanism and is still original at 370000 miles.

FIAT DOBLO Windscreen wipers for a DOBLO

Bit of strange thing to ask but with all the rain today I was getting more and more infuriated with the front wipers making an intolerably loud squeak every time the wipers go to back the park position so it only happens when they are moving in one direction I got these fitted by a local tyre company as they were offering a cheap deal (including the fitting ) Is it just the quality of the wipers that cause this Normally things like this dont bother me but TODAY it did Maybe I am stressed

Make sure they tip over pushing the blade will cause it to judder & squeak sometimes you have to put a slight twist in the arm

FIAT DOBLO Doblo problems and hints on repair

Im new to the forum so I though you might like my hints of the doblo. I have owned mine for the last two years clocking up 92000 miles hard motoring. Of coarse I have had some faults and here they are. 1. Engine overheated without warning resulting in new engine fitted at 21000 miles. Damaged head apparently. 2. Central locking system would not unlock rear doors. Luckily I was able to open them from

wiper stopped working. I stripped the front cover to have a look and saw the polyurethene bush had vaporised and the wiper arm had simply collapsed. Of course my van was the first doblo to have this problem but when quizzed I was told the Punto suffers from this problem too. Imagine that and the doblo and Punto share parts including the wipers Apparantly only the passenger one gives trouble. The fiat

FIAT PUNTO The old wiper linkage problem

OK like many fiat owners my wiper linkage bar has fallen off....again So I thought to fix it once and for all id take off the arm (quite easily) remove the spindle and look at how easy or possible it would be to fit some sort of split pin or other device to hold the bar in place..... Any ideas how to easily remove the spidle There is a washer on top of the spindle keeping the bottom bar in place..Its

FIAT DOBLO New Doblo Purchase

Hi I am new on here so I am really not sure how this works. I joined because I wanted some advice from those in the know. I have been the happy owner of a mk2 doblo for the past three years and apart from an new set of rear shocks and dual mass and clutch as well as a body computer( my fault called auto locksmith who spiked it and refused to pay) I have had very little hassle. I know have the opportiunity

Hi I had a Mk1 doblo 1.9JTD for ten years and changed to a Mk3 in February. My old car was giving trouble and I could no longer rely on it. The new one is quieter much better riding handles far better and has an improved seat position and I have now got used to it. It took a while. The instruments are hard to see in some lights and I dont necessarily mean when it is dark the drivers seat doesnt have

not sure about the radiocassette problem but regarding the rear wiper you will have to replace the whole arm and blade as they only come as one unit and is a fiat part only should be 31.00 inc v.a.t but you could try connecting a a blade from another car onto the arm its a stupid design made to extract more money from you Im sure the other way would be to take the whole unit off altogether in that way you will never need to replace it. best of luck anyway

FIAT PANDA juddering wipers

Since we bought our 05 multijet the front wipers juddered. The large drivers side one seemed to have trouble turning over at the end of each stroke. The blade was almost new but I noticed that the arm was pressing it very hard against the glassmuch harder than the passenger side or on our other vehicles (a nearly new doblo and an 02 reg renault master minibusboth with similar sized wipers). To reduce

FIAT DOBLO Doblo 7 Seat Conversion

Hi Does anyone know how feasible and cost effective (compared to just buying the family version in the first place) it is to convert the standard 5 seat doblo to a 7 seater Cheers S

As a young lad Id sometimes go fishing with my mate & his dad. Wed all go in his dads builders van. Unfortunately the van only had one seat. My mate sat up front (on an upturned beer crate) with his dad whilst I had the luxury bag of sand cement plaster in the back. fond memories. I remember one return journey when the wipers packed in we repaired the fuse with the requisite piece of silver out

FIAT DOBLO What cycle carrier

Took son & his mate up the hills to burn off some energy on their bikes & it took me ages to mount my old cycle carrier on the back - bottom straps not long enough to mount the rack against the rear window in the end I had to mount it immediately above the rear wiper with the wiper sticking out I didnt really feel too comfortable about having the weight of the bikes strapped tight to the back window.
