FIAT BRAVO Steering wheel split

Hi I am hoping to take my bravo into the dealer tomorrow and be told that this will be repaired under warranty. I wouldnt put money on that though Just got in the car to discover this.... how could this happen Material fault for sure. I dont go around banging on the horn Car is less than 3 years old in warranty until March 2013 and has 16k on the clock. I can just see them telling me now that this

this is starting to look sus now. Some airbags lift the centre section of the wheel. the bravo is designed to burst through. image shows fired bravo bags. There three scenarios here 1) its been in a shunt and not repaired properly and whoever did it managed to trick the airbag system to ignore the missing sensor. This is harder than you think to do and the steering wheel whould be torn a lot worse

. if its an older fiesta an the only warning is a light you can be cheeky and wire the airbag light to another dash light like ABS or engine management light so it comes on and goes off or wire a relay into the light. in the case of the bravo (really speaking for mine here as its the sport with a different dash to most) i have a warning light alarm sound and i lose the digital display too. with fiat

FIAT BRAVO Bravo steering wheel control wires

Im a couple of days into the ownership of my 1.9 120bhp Multijet Dynamic bravo and loving it. I want to change the head unit though as I have a double din system with 7 screen etc. The unit I have allows you to hook up any steering wheel controls and learns the buttons so letting you program them yourself. Does anyone know what the wire colors are from the bravo so I can do this Also do you know if

FIAT BRAVO The creaking steering issue

Im on my second bravo..moved from a t-jet 150 sport to a multijet dynamic 165. Ive been mostly sorting out what seems to me mileage related issues. The t-jet had 25k on the clock the multijet has 69k. Anyways Ive had the creaky steering issue when turning left at slow speeds. Most posts Ive seen suggest it is the top mount. Whilst it does appear that the creak comes from the mount I can confirm that

FIAT BRAVO Bravo Sound System Upgrade

FIAT BRAVA 182 Very light Bravo steering

Hi Im not sure if anyone else has experienced this in bravos or fiat cars in general but the steering on my 1998 R reg bravo 1.4 is very light - it could probably be steered without having to grasp the wheel. I was told that some fiat s have a city mode my car doesnt appear to have this functionality. Does anyone know how to turn down the power steering or at least make it less light Thanks

i agree the steering is far too light on the lower spec models its designed for girls when parking. you need to get a power steering pump from a 1.8 or 2.0 model they have less assistance and feel much much better. alternatively you can try my own approach to adjusting the assistance. the level of assistance is controlled by a valve called a relief valve. this valve ensures a constant amount of pressure

FIAT BRAVA 182 Punto Sporting steering wheel in a Bravo

I was wondering whether it would be possible to fit a Mk2 Punto Sporting steering wheel into a bravo Also how would this be done And how much would a Punto sporting steering wheel cost Any help would be appreciated.

Id say your biggest worry would be the airbag I wouldnt go messing with that the bravo and the Puntos systems are years apart and might work in different ways

FIAT BRAVO blistering steering wheel replaced... )

Hey guys This summer... a bit past the 2 birthday of my Stormtrooper... meaning past danish warrenty ...my steering ALSO started bubbeling an blistering.... I wrote my dealer and a couple of months later they call me up and suggest that I pay 30% and the rest will be covered by fiat... I know its not a replacement for free... but hey its better than no replacement at all Just wanted to tell you guys that even past warrenty its not impossible. Cheers

I got mine replaced under warranty on my 2008 150T-JET sport in the fiat dealership in clonmelIrelandwhere i bought it last year. The new one feels different but better. They had previously done warranty work with no problems. They also quoted me &8364170 for the full service including plugsall filters except pollenoil etc. My car has 24000 kms done so not getting pollen or brake fluid change. Two

Please dont try this on a bravo EPS. The sensor operates on a different principle to the Toyota system and all youre likely to get is warning lights. After a few journeys your EPS will be bricked and youll be looking at a hefty bill for a replacement. Steve. FIAT BRAVO Power steering issue

Hi guys need some opinion here. At speed in excess of 100kmh my steering wheel doesnt turn smoothly. Can feel it turns in intermediate juddering. Can feel its very different from the day i bought it. The steering still does its function perfectly fine but the way it feels when turning makes me feel insecure. Anyone here faces this problem Im sorry if Im able to describe the symptom in detail. Its really

I think I may have the same problem. Mine feels as though the motor doesnt wake up when its dead centre (quite a bit of resistance) until the steering is turned several degrees to the left or right then suddenly its smooth and easy to turn. Its something like theres a freeplay zone where the motor is not active. It wasnt like this when the car was newer. Does the EPS system need any kind of lubricant or greasing or maybe adjustment

EPS system is maintenance free.

FIAT BRAVO New UK Bravo - sound system options

Hi guys Are there currently any options to improve the speaker system on a brand new bravo from the UK I notice that some countries offer a speaker system upgrade with sub and better sound quality... Would really go for this if available in UK but dont remember seeing it as an option anywhere The only audio related options were the mp3 cd player (pretty useless when you have a usb port that can play mp3s 0))... T

ok i got mine on tuesday and it took until today get it sounding ok. i turned the EQ off presets (so not on rock jazz etc) and then set bass to 7 and treble to 9 and its sounds ok. It doesnt sound fantastic. However if the stilo was anything to go by the speakers are actually ok and its just the head unit thats pants. I had plans to upgrade the lot in the stilo but only needed to change the head unit

FIAT BRAVO EobdInjection system failure

Had this warning light flash up on the dash on the way home then disappear. Stopped as soon as I could and whipped the manual out. It said I could continue driving avoiding heavy effort or high speed. Which I did. Car is going in to the garage to have a couple of things fixed (brakes and slightly off centre steering wheel) on Monday so will mention it then. Was just curious if any has had this problem and if they know what causes itthe fix A new fuel injector Thanks folks.

FIAT BRAVA 182 finally evidence of hlx sx steering assistance differences

when i got my HLX recently i could swear that the power steering seemed to have less assistance. it feels so much more sure of itself when cornering at speed the steering was the worse thing on my 1.6sx way too easy to turn. i knew i wasnt crazy and now ive finally found some proof that there is a difference. i took this from fiatboo The fiat bravo and fiat Brava use two different steering configurations.

FIAT BRAVO What on earth has happened to the UK Bravo model range

The Stilo (and new bravo) use a different make of power steering motor to the Punto Grande Punto & Panda. Failure of the motor on the Stilo & bravo is virtually unheard of but obviously Stilos are getting on abit now so age-related failures like this are a possibility. However its not the same as the more common problems affecting smaller fiat s steering systems.

3 years and 50000 miles here. I dove in early and probably have had the most problems of the forum - but none were enough to stop the car working and were resolved quickly. FIAT BRAVO Bravo facelift changes

FIAT BRAVO im new an need sum info

Ulpian - I dont agree at all with your opinion - there is good few people around that fitted double din radios with sat-nav with 6.1-7 inch screen and it looks amazing. Fitting that kind of a device is not that hard fiat Connect Nav built-in satnav system is not worth any money - its very old system with only 256colour screen not even able to have a reversing camera attached or dvd-video playing facility.

FIAT BRAVO Need advice before buying Bravo

Hello everyone Im a new member of the fiat forum but not new with fiat I started out with an 1989 UNO 1.0e (45Hp) which was to be honest a pretty terrible car when it came to reliability but it always took me where I wanted (drove it with blown gasket and the oil leaking into the radiator for 40Km parked at home to sleep then woke up next day and took it to the shop). FIAT BRAVA 182 I hate Power steering

I was driving on the motorway at about 70 mh and I accidentally nudged the steering wheel while changing a radio station the car almost lost control and bounced left and right while I corrected the wheel I am now tempted to remove that PAS belt to regain the feel of the road All my previous cars didnt have PAS and I am finding it difficult to adjust. in addition to the feel of the road the physical exercise is also a good thing as it helps one retain strong biceps.

Bravicssimo i agree totally with you the steering on bravos is way too light. removing the belt isnt a good idea it will be very hard to turn at all what you need to do is adjust the relief valve on the power steering pump. the relief valve regulates pressure in the power steering system. the idea is that at tickover you should have the same assistance as at full revs and at full revs the pump wont
