FIAT BRAVO AMS and the Fiat Bravo Brake Scandal the REAL lowdown

OK everyone this is my first post here and I honestly wish it was far simpler and more pleasant than having to comment on a review filled with ludicrous claims. Yes its about the claim made by the Greek branch of Auto Motor und Sport magazine that the fiat bravo 1.4 90bhp doesnt have brakes big enough for the job. I understand it has been mentioned in another post in these forums but I was one of the

FIAT BRAVA 182 Might get a BravoBrava - Help

Looking at getting a bravoBrava mainly for motorway journeys Ive always liked the look of them and wanted something comfortable enough for motorways etc. Ive been looking at the 1.2s and the 1.6s mainly as I can afford to insure those. What would you lot (although I would imagine youre all slightly bias) say they are like to drive decent for motorways A comfy cruiser Anything I should specifically

Mainly based on better options being more available. It was known for camshafts being destroyed through oil starvation and not being very fuel efficient since its fuel intection system only used throttle position RPM temperature and Lambda sensors to work out fueling it didnt have MAF or MAP sensors. 1.2s and 1.6 are better engines plus theres lots of parts available both used and new since fiat

FIAT BRAVO Timing Chain

Anyone used one of these on their bravo converted to chain Would be hugely interested if you have or if its possible

electromechanical solenoid is powerful enough or quick enough to activate 100 times a second and If they did its working life would be a matter of days. The only way to ditch the belt or chain Is to direct drive the cam off the crank shaft. Which causes problems with overhead cam arrangements. And would probably still be impractical for the multiair Loving this thread as well. If you go to the fiat

FIAT BRAVA 182 Bravo Power

Just wondering what the power output of a 1.6 16v sx engine was its from a 1999 T-reg one Cheers guys

the book figure is 103bhp but peak power figures mean very little. your particular example could have a peak of 80-100bhp. more importantly the 1.6 has 106lbft of torque which is good for a 1.6 and even more importantly the torque curve is fairly flat so you have plenty of usable torque across a good chunk of the rev range that is what gives the 1.6 its willingness from the fiat brochure The Torque

all error codes are 4 numerical characters they are usually given with a P prefix but a code reader will not show you that P. for example P1105 could be a fault code or a code reader it would show as 1105. so code 20 and 24 must be P0020 and P0024. P0020 means A camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 2) P0024 means B camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or system Performance (Bank 2) so it means

However my question is I want more power in my bravo tjet 1.4 (no idea what the 120 or 150 stands for ) So I read that the punto abarth turbo will fit the bravo 1.4 tjet as they are same engine If so where

if you upgraded pistons camshaft gasflowed the head cold air intake turbo exhaust fmic injectors ecu remap and maybe a rebore your engine should be reliable if pistons and camshaft are good also maybe worth getting a lightened flywheel if possible this lot would cost you alot of cash but wud give you a good bhp increase also how about a supercharge for low end power will give you good power before turbo kicks in also how about anti lag system -P

Gonna ring these guys tomorrow - httpwww.gimotorsport.co.ukperformance_tuning.html They seem like the right sort of place im looking for and are only about 10 miles from where I live. Gonna ask them about new turbo (or whether the one I wrecked can be salvaged) clutch and possible camshafts but Im pretty certain with those mods itll also need new fuel injectors pump and a new cooling system. FIAT BRAVA 182 Stickies

It has been commented on a few times that we have no useful stickies in the bravoa section. Now with most of us being loyal BOO members who use that website and how-tos for such things you might think we dont need any. But a few FAQs here might be useful. So are there any useful threads that you think should be made sticky or a new thread started oon a particular topic I would be interested to see

engine idles roughly Oops got that a little wrong..... it should be- disconnect the solenoid start the engine and then apply battery voltage to the unit. There should be a noticeable change in idle......... considering I was doing it from memory I werent far-off. While I agree there must be some mechanical device inside to hold it in a neutral position I dont know if Id trust it at high revs. fiat

FIAT BRAVA 182 Torque increase how

Ok so the 1.2 has 83lb of torque standard. I know that the real acceleration is all about the weight to power ratio and is usually seen in the overtaking speeds 3050 - 70 mph. But the work is not done by the bph instead its done by the torque. Check out the preformance comparision CLICK HERE (fiat Boo site preformance stat table) see the bottom of the page click preformance stats under contents. So

work. Since horsepower is calculated from torque you need to aim for the biggest possible torque value over the broadest-possible rpm range. If you want more torque the conventional method is to increase displacement. Bigger cylinders and a longer stroke will give the greatest cylinder volume and piston area. Thats why american muscle cars tend to have 5.7 V6 engines minimum. Obviously on a 1.2 bravo

FIAT BRAVA 182 Smoke on start up and using Oil

Anyone help I have a (2001) Brava starting up I get a bit of smoke and can smell oil burning on a 45 minute run what is it I also have to top up over a pint of oil every month Is it anything to worry about. Thanks.

Have you had any work done to the car recently like a service Any stains or puddles on the floor under the car. Im just trying to rule out the obvious and cheapest methods first. I.e. The oil filter may not be screwed on tight then as the engine gets hot the oil starts to burn on the engine and give you that unpleasant smell through the ventilation system. Sump plug may not be screwed tight. Cracked
