FIAT BRAVA 182 Fiat Bravo 1.8HLX Camshaft Sensor

I think I may have a failing camshaft sensor in my fiat bravo 1.8 HLX 1997. The car always started first time but since having the timing belt replaced it still may start first time but on other occasions it can take two or three attempts although once started runs like a dream. Question can the camshaft sensor be removed replaced without removing the cam belt Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

the hole on the block or binning it with the old sensor. Is it defiantly the cam sensor you need to change rather than the crank Its very rare we get posts about people changing cam sensors but crank sensors are often know to produced intermittent starting for people that have posted before. FIAT STILO Camshaft position sensor malfunction

Hi Been having problems with my Stilo 12 16V (2002) (again). Engine fault light is on and the fault code seems to be P0340 - camshaft position sensor malfunction. If I understand the eLearn manual correctly it is located on the block near the spark plugs and the connector is on right hand side (looking the engine from the front). Wires seem OK the connector was not dirty and multimeter shows open circuit

Hello all I was at a fiat dealership yesterday concerning a problem with the air pressure sensor... (second time in 9 months) and some of their answers troubled me... Resetting the ecu will not to any damageonly chance of that is if arcing occured when refitting terminalbut this is rare. Problems with the motor throttle(if fitted)logs a manifold pressure sensor code by the way.

i think you need to remove the rocker cover and maybe the timing belt cover to look for something that faces the exhaust camshaft pulley im guessing its mounted in the head but its hard to say. the pulley is easy to find so finding the sensor cant be that hard theres only so many places it can be to read the cam pulley.

they will need to remove cambelt and pulley to get at sensor its trapped behind the pulley - not difficult to remove though.. Owen

FIAT BRAVA 182 bravo fault MAP sensor

Hi folks a friend of mine has a 2001 bravo 1.6 16v SX showing the following fault codes P0105 P0110 P0115 AND P0340 I think the first 2 codes refer to a faulty MAP sensor I have a same year Marea 1.6 16v with no faults So my question is can i try the MAP sensor from my car to see if it clears the codes... if so is it easy to do I thought i would ask here first as I dont wanna bugger up anything on my car swapping bits around but do wanna help her Thanks

Those are all circuit malfunction codes P0105 Manifold Absolute Pressure Circuit Malfunction P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction P0340 camshaft Position sensor Circuit Malfunction Could very well be a dirty plug somewhere or a corroded chassis mass connector.

FIAT BRAVA 182 Might get a BravoBrava - Help

Looking at getting a bravoBrava mainly for motorway journeys Ive always liked the look of them and wanted something comfortable enough for motorways etc. Ive been looking at the 1.2s and the 1.6s mainly as I can afford to insure those. What would you lot (although I would imagine youre all slightly bias) say they are like to drive decent for motorways A comfy cruiser Anything I should specifically

Mainly based on better options being more available. It was known for camshafts being destroyed through oil starvation and not being very fuel efficient since its fuel intection system only used throttle position RPM temperature and Lambda sensors to work out fueling it didnt have MAF or MAP sensors. 1.2s and 1.6 are better engines plus theres lots of parts available both used and new since fiat

FIAT BRAVO TMC Tuning Box with GSR - Review

FIAT BRAVA 182 Post Camshaft change problems

Hi All new here looking for help and getting deparate. 1.4 12v bravo 1996. Drizzle bar dried up and rounded all 4 cam lobes on the exhaust valves by about 5mm or more. Have changed for a new camshaft (new secondhand) and now the little darling wont start. I have followed tdc by the flywheel and also a screwdriver down the 1st spark plug hole. I have set the cam according to haynes with cam on pot one

does the car know weather to fire on 1 or 4 I have pulled the crank sensor out of an old engine and the gap in the teeth comes round each time 1 and 4 are at tdc . So theoretically it doesnt matter if the cam marks are 180 degree backwards Or does it Can the ECU stop the car starting even when showing a spark and giving fuel I am close to throwing the engine in the bin ta Dave __________________ fiat

My Brava is very poor in accelerating in

well if it is the cmp sensor (camshaft position sensor) you can simply unplug the one on your car. if it makes no difference when unplugged they thats the problem if the car gets worse with it unplugged its probably something else.

sensor wise the cam sensor is often a problem as is the crankshaft sensor. the crankshaft position sensor (aka rmp sensor tdc sensor) should be 575-750ohms at 20C. do the test on the outer pins (not using the centre pin). also check the gap between the sensor and phonic wheel teeth is 0.5-1.5mm (use a feeler gauge). this can save you the cost of a diagnostic check at fiat . the cam sensor is slightly

Could also be -the stepper motor wich controls the idle -dirty butterfly case -broken throttle position sensor (also on the butterfly case) -broken TDC sensor (rpm) -broken camshaft sensor. Pick one and test it. Or test all. -stepper motor easy test - take it out leave it connected and put someone to fire up de car if the pin moves that means that the motor is trying to adjust the air bypass it works.
