FIAT BRAVA 182 Brava 1.6 rear suspension

Hi everyone Im about to replace the rear shocks and springs on my brava 1.6 Trofeo can annyone recommend a good shockspring combo and keeping to standard height I was thinking either Monroe or KYB both seem reasonably priced on ebay Thanks for any help

I just got some new Blistine B4 rear shocks and some Kilen rear springs. Im very happy with them its a nice improvement over my old fairly rusty parts that where original to the car i think.

Hi yes I fitted Excel-Gs all round to my brava a few years ago they are good value and feel slightly firm or sporty (at least when you first fit them you notice). Im happy with them although I like trawling ebay to see if there are any bargain Sachs or Boge units as they are very good too. The ordinary bravas Bravos and Mareas all seem to take the same shocks unless they are diesels or 2 litre jobs.

FIAT BRAVA 182 Rear Springs

Does anyone know wether hgt springs will fit a bravo sx Reason being im putting the ride quality back to standardcant be doing with the hardness and banging of hardened lowered springs no moregetting old lol From what ive read in my bravo brochure the hgt was made lower and sportier lol so im thinking of getting those.

cheers for thati wasnt sure Reason i asked was a mate bought hgt 35mm lowering springs for his 1.8hlx and they didnt fit he asked me if i had hgt suspension and did i want them.As far as i know my car has standard suspension apart from having the 20v frrr disc conversion.

&163150 i used to charge &16350 for any car and i thought that was expensive. its very easy to do yourself. rather than write it out again heres one of my previous efforts reposted to fit rear springs you jack car up to just before the point where the rear wheel is lifted into the air take nut off on bottom of shock jack car up higher until shock is clear of trailing arm slot old spring off swap the

FIAT BRAVA 182 General suspension problem.

I got my 1996 1.4 brava_SX from Austria from 15 years now i currently live in Romania i have this problem with my ride quality i think its way too rough so i decided to try and fix it somehow ive spend 3 hours at 3 different mechanics and the couldnt find a single problem in the back except the After-Market KYB Excel-G Shocks ive got on the car are so hard that makes the ride unbearable is it normal

There is not much to make noise in there The shocks The TA bearings The brake balancer (not it as it is behind a spring sound is all wrong for that) The anti-rollbar is bolted straight to the arms and doesnt touch the subframe or body so it shouldnn make noise. Sure the spring isnt broken and rubbing altough its pretty imposible as it has nothing to hit. I had hard time with marea when the original

Btw to check the bearings without unbolting anything you should lift the rear end from center of the springs on the trailing arm then shake the wheel. That way the loose spot on bearing doesnt move to a good spot as the weight is still on the arm.

If its one thing i hate the most its not giving a car problem a proper diagnostic fiats are so complex that my problems could be caused by a lot of things i cant just start trowing parts at this car i need to make sure 100% that the parts im changing are the ones causing the problems and im saying that cause im a god damn student and as you can imagine i dont have lots of pennies in my pocket i came

FIAT BRAVA 182 Passenger Rear Radius Arm

How hard it is to replace a rear Radius arm 1997 fiat Bunto

As the procedure is much the same on either car (Puntos wear out more often though) Remove centre cap for the hub nut and loosen nut (32mm) Jack the car remove wheel and remove all brake components Remove the hub (carefully) the drum backing plate handbrake cable and the brake hoses and pipes on the arm in question. Try to plug up the brake fluid as if let run dry it will ruin the master cylinder (which

FIAT BRAVA 182 Coupe suspension to Bravo 1.2

Is this possible Is it a good bad idea to get used suspension and put it on another car If it works will the suspension lower my car Specifically the shock absorbers. Also which springs will i need

its not possible and even if it was it wouldnt do you any good. the mounting points are different at top of struts lengths are different front and rear hubs wont connect to shocks on front shocks wont connect to arms on rear it would be more difficult than a coupe brake conversion. get springs for your car and if you still arent satisfied then get some gas shocks too. personally i think a set of lowering

FIAT BRAVA 182 suspension

not sure if im posting in the right place. jus wanted to knw how difficult it is to change suspension on brava 80sx cud i get away with jus doing the springs jus put a set of 16s on the car and it looks good but as u can see in my signature pic its a little high i was thinking maybe a 30 - 40 mm drop nothing to major.

the rear is very easy the front is also very easy if you dont have any seized bolts. use a haynes manual. replacing only the springs is fine if the shocks are still in good condition. a 30 to 40mm drop will be fine on 16s.

EDIT in that pic youve got a rear spring. i bet the avo website doesnt even mention the 1.2. the 1.2 uses the same springs and shocks and the 1.4 1.6 & 1.8. the only reason most manufacturers dont list the 1.2 is the 1.2 didnt exist at the time. companies that do list the 1.2 (very few do) show that the 1.2 kit is the same as the 1.4 1.6 & 1.8. some companies list the 1.8 seperately with the TD & 2.0 i dont know why.

FIAT BRAVA 182 Mongol Rally Preperation

Hello all I have just purchased a brava 1.2 80 SX to drive the 8000 miles or so from Goodwood to Ulan Batur in Mongolia. It is a charity rally this summer called the Mongol Rally. I have to get this car

FIAT BRAVA 182 brake Master cylinder failure after brake upgradeis it right

I just uppgraded my brakesrear disc conversionand brembos up frontbut i thought there was a leak of fluid somewhareso took it back to the garage today. Symptoms were very little braking power very spongy pedalgoing almost to the floorwhen pumped to stiffen up it could pushed to the floor with a kinda jerking motion. The garage has called and said there is no leak and that it must be a master cylinder

the new rear brakes will be more effective and so will the fronts so you dont know what the relationship is between fluid pressure and brake effort at the front or rear. you need to make sure that brake effort is balanced between front and rear. on proportioning valves that are spring operated you can usually adjust the top bracket position. iirc my 1.8bravo didnt use a spring it had a pressure valve

FIAT BRAVA 182 Brake conversions

Hi everybody its me again Does anyone have any idea of exactly how much i would need to change in order to swap my rear brake drums for discs would it just be the wheel assembly or would i need to replace the hubs and bearings as well and modify the suspension Regards Luis

ive converted a few cars to rear discs. its never hard. the easiest way to do it to remove the whole lot from the donor car and leave it assembled ready to fit onto your car. then all you have to worry about is changing over the rear sections of the handbrake cable and connecting your copper brake lines onto the new flexihoses everything else will be a direct fit and bolts into place. when i say the

FIAT BRAVA 182 Stupid Question

Right so I ordered some Jamex 40mm springs for the HGT. A plain white DHL box arrived today opened it up and the springs are their no other documents just the springs in a white box. Heres where the stupid question comes in the springs are black... is this right Are the Jamex lowering springs meant to be black Usually I would just compare them to the standard springs but theyre still on the car at

Jami Yep they look awefully familiar lol. Gaz (Whiley) gave me a hand fitting the rear springs this evening and I can definately say that theyre not replacement standard springs The rear of the car finally sits at the height that I always thought it should I always thought the HGT sat too high at the back. FIAT BRAVA 182 Bravo HGT track day car

FIAT BRAVA 182 My track Bravo

Hi guys thought Id share a few pics and the story behind my Bravo track bitch. I bought it off a mate as a boggo HGT last year as a runabout and was going to keep it standard but I warmed to it and it ended up with a few mods. 500 notes later and i picked this up taxed and full MOT Drove it round for a good few miles like it was dead happy. Bit thirsty for a daily driver but I didnt really care Then

Hi steve you maybe arent too far away from me welcome to come and have a look alternatively I am racing at mallory park near Hinckley on Sunday if you want to have a look then. Regarding the Pectel the reason I ask is G and G motorsport who maps mine are highly involved with PectelPI and Phil who runs it is the most honest and direct operator I know - trusted 100%. Bit of a way though in Horncastle

FIAT BRAVA 182 Uneven Tyre Wear

Popped into a local tyreMOT centre today for an oil and filter change and they mentioned the tyre wear I have on the front wheels. I had noticed it earlier with it wearing on the inside edge and intended to get the tracking checked. However the garage said the tracking was probably fine and the cause would be the lowered suspension. Im not sure how far it was lowered but noticed red springs when I

FIAT BRAVA 182 Am I

going blind in my old age or wot got a manual on CD & a porter manual & looked on these forums & looked in halfords ref booklet. wat is the oil capacity of a brava JTD 105 when you change itfilters on another subject(to all you peeps who live in london who will understand) i dont know if i will do this(depending on the cost)is there anyway you can make the suspension higher i am bloody sick of wacking

use spring assisters (rubber rings) desinged for towing caravans use them front and rear for about 20mm increased ride height and much stiffer suspension.

FIAT BRAVA 182 Lowering a 1.6 Bravo

Right... Basically im after a little backgound info... When i had my Corsa C (sorry to talk about a corsa) i lowered it myself.. and spent a while researching the good and bad makes to go for and the otpimal height to drop it. before settling on a 40mm drop. i was basically after any details on the good bad heights to drop her. i will eventually have 17 205 40 17 alloys tyres. and have family who

thats cheap... imo. Spax lowering springs. 79.99 Front shocks 18.00 x2 36.00 rear Shocks 12.00 x2 24.00 Total cost of Lowering to a high level 139.99 compared with 279.99 for a full sports suspension kit... imo thats good.

FIAT BRAVA 182 clutch & camber

hello again theres a small high clicking noise upfrontduring idling. heard only from inside the car. i guess 14 ( or maybe half )the engines frequency. goes away when i press the clutch from 23 way. it has to be clutch related. but how my front right suspension has a lot of negative camber the difference is such that left and right handers feel disconnected. is there any part that might be bent that can be replaced cheaply thanks again fiatistis

oh thanks a lot guys. very helpful. im checking the gearbox this weekend. hopefully its just a loose bolt or something simple. hopefully. the metallic clicking noise only occurs during neutral idling. anyways just back from the workshop to replace the cat noticed the right suspension ( where theres negative camber ) droops lower by an inch or two. could this be springabsorber related yes the front

FIAT MULTIPLA Multipla Wish List

Just for fun I was wondering what people would like their Multiplas to have in an idea world. Not boring stuff like wishing it had reliability ( ) but something fun or genuinely useful. 1. 4x4 and ruggedised off road styling and useability. Id love one with a bit of X-Cross styling. Maybe a big 2.5L diesel engine also. 2. It would be dead handy if there was an attachment so when you folded the rear middle seat down it turned into a baby changing station.

break enough front springs as it is JTD 1.9 16v unit puts out 140bhp which is enough of an increase to make it markedly better without having to change brakesgearbox etc. Polybushes as an option from new - too many rubber components wear out (Front wishbonesARB bushesrear subframe bushesetc) relatively inexpensive parts which cost a bloody fortune to replace. I suspect this is a legacy of the brava
