FIAT 500 II 500c owners tip about rear headrestswindow contact

Driving in the rain today I noticed that the second heating element down in the rear window of our 10 500c wasnt keeping the glass clear of spray. Its pretty obvious why the rear headrests metal supports have rubbed on the glass and broken the element. The headrests are up above their highest slot so we cant really blame fiat for this - its just unlucky that the metal support touches the glass right

headrestraints

Ive always taken the headrest out when child booster seat is in. Its currently in the loft and every six months I swop it with the other one in the car so they fade equally You may want to invest in a seat protector. Our booster seat started to rub the seat so I bought a special under-child-seat cover. Its saved my seats

Is it possible to buy headrests for the 500 Had a Google but havent seen much have ordered Black Ambiance in my 500 because I dont trust myself with the Ivory steering wheel but quite fancy the ivory headrests... Maybe Ill change my mind when it arrives but just wondered if it was possible... Also have you all seen the new mirror covers etc with flowers and butterflys etc on... hmmm You can also buy that funny whiteboard theyre putting in the 500C...

mirror covers with flowers and butterflies and such... um how lovely... no thankyou on those. havent heard about those though or the whiteboard thing. headrests slide and click in and out dont they. ill bet it wouldnt be long before you can buy them... its not like they require much to fitetc. most likely ebay. might be quite nice with ivory ones you might love them being black though. ooh decisions are exciting

you cant just buy some headrests to put into a rear seat the doesnt have them as it wont have the correct fittings in the seat to accept them if your getting a lounge then its ok as they have rhr as standard but you should be able to order some ivory ones through the parts dept.

FIAT 500 II Headrests awkwarduncomfortable- yours too

I just got my new fiat Pop. Wahoo Ive been driving it around and noticing that it seems like my head against the headrest is pushed a bit forward. Its uncomfortable. Id love it if I could move the headrest back an inch but to do that I need to tilt the seat back more which kind of defeats the purpose. Has anyone experienced the same thing and if so how did you deal with it Thanks Alissa

I cannot say that I lean my head against the headrest in any of my cars ... I dont know if the 500 is adjustable but sometimes you can push them back.

Hi Alissa The name headrest is a bit of a misnomer Mostlythey are actually there for safety regs -to protect your head and neck from whiplash etc. during rapid deceleration. Unfortunately there are few cars where the headrest actually supports the head during normal driving. I believe my old Audi estate did as it could be adjusted forads and backwds a lot. It is always nice of course when they do support the head whilst driving

They are head restraints and they shouldnt touch the head under normal drviing. As has been mentioned they are there to prevent serious whiplash and broken necks. On some cars they spring forward on rear impact to prevent the head tipping too far backwards and this is not a bad idea. If you need head restraints to support your head though you have a problem Perhaps an orthopaedic collar would be better

FIAT 500 II Retro fitting rear headrests to non split seats

Hi To a 500 Twinair Plus Anyone know if this is possible Cheers Simon

By new seats yes.

We regularly have people in the back of the 500 & other than the safety aspect they look good. Not bothered about split fold.

A delivery of 500 pops to Australia didnt have the headrests on the non-split seats and fiat Australia have been told they have to be installed on those cars. My dealer was telling me the other day that he was given instructions on how to install them. So apparently its possible. Squadrone Rosso thanked for this post

FIAT 500 II Rear headrests

Hi Our 1.2 Sport arrives on 1st September it was a car in the system and doesnt have the rear head rests. I cant find these on acessory websites - can they be ordered from fiat parts - any idea of part numbers price I presume the seats will have holes for them to fit Thanks

I saw someone elses 500 Sport on Monday. They hadnt gone for the rear head rest option but Im pretty sure I didnt see any holes at the top of the back seat for the headrests.

I have the rear headrests in my Pop (they were an option) but for my next 500 I have not specified them. The childrens seats dont fit with the headrests & also if you have any rear seat passenger they will invariably raise the headrests as they are too low when down. This then means that you have to push them down again when your rear passengers have disembarked as the are distracting when up.
