My biggest grumble with the 500 is this tiny fuel tank. Granted its a small car but with a range of just over 300 miles until the fuel light comes on is annoying. Pete

The Abarth shouldnt be too bad if you dont keep off the turbo. The wifes Subaru
The Mini clubman cooper S actually has a 5L bigger tank than the normal models not sure about the hatchback that might too. Not amazing but it does show that atleast 1 manufacturer puts a bigger tank in its performance models. I guess that is BMW levels of detail and of course associated costs. Incidently our panda does 420-470miles on a 35l tank. Sure it would do 500 on a good day but the girlfriend

There seem to be 3 different part nos for the same tank probably different manufacturers or a change of mounting or materials.

Seen them shred a cars interior in the past.... Your best option is going to be to control the little blighters... Rat poison in bait boxes near the car parking area they can be had from the likes of ebay and Amazon If you have a real infestation a few mk4 Fenn traps well reduce the numbers as fast as you can reset them (i bait with a mix of pea nut butter and Chocolate spread) just cover them with
No Im not a rabbit its my nickname and ive had it for about 25 years. Yes i know what the manual says the tank should hold but my car seems to take less than what the maunal says so thats why im asking the question If the tank takes 35 ltrs and have a 5 ltr reserve then when the fuel light comes on it should take 30 ltrs to fill up right Well im not not even close to. So how many ltrs on average do you buy when filling up
I take it no one has yet posted how much is still in the tank when the light comes on The only thing I know is that its a 35L tank. I would like to know how far I can travel when A) the fuel light comes on ie how many L left B) after the range starts to read Omiles Obviously both are mpg dependant but the volumes between the cars should be constant. Im sure I could find out myself but better to learn from other people running out of juice.

Is the warning denoted by range Dont forget less diesel fuel will give the same range of more petrol hence is possibly coming on with less fuel in the tank. Could also be that the software has been changed on later models to come on later.

It may well be the same but equally could be different with different intake locations on the tank for filler pipe or location of pump etc.
Cheers for the update. Glad it went well and good to know for future reference that they are compatable. Just hope the same doesnt happen again. Did the swines get much out of the origional tank or was it fairly empty when they tried to drain it
