BMW SERIES 6 Parking Sensor Question

Took the 650 Coupe in for a repair needed to correct an AC problem. While being serviced they also updated the software which changed the I-drive screen from brownish color to grayish color. But what I am noticing now is before when I pulled into my garage the parking sensor was automatic and would tell me how close I was to the wall. Now it is NOT automatic and I have to push the button on in order

Now it is NOT automatic and I have to push the button on in order for this to work. Does anyone know if this was part of the software update Or do I have another problem Thanks JBaker Love that feature in new X5 since dont want to hit Z4

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 - Any way to improve keys luckunlock distance

After all the help from Ron getting my Sirius setup I feel I can start working my way through a few other small issues I have. Was going to create one post but figured things would get lost. So Ill start with the most annoying first. For some reason the lockunlock functions on my key only work if Im within 2 feet of the car. Without exaggeration I have to literally be standing at the door to unlock

your car (opposite the buttons) and that will provide a better signal and more range. (simple dipole antenna) It certainly helped for me and I dont suffer the embarrassment of having to explain that Im not actually trying to pick my nose with the key when unlocking the doors. Also the remote for my wifes 5 series seems like it can reach half way across the parking lot to unlock the car while my Z4

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 water in carpet padding pass side

Hi We recently bought a 07 Z4 CPO. After a few days of ownership and when the heavy interior new car scent wore off the smell of mold permeated the car. We thought we could air it out and left it out in the sun with the top down but the smell persisted. We purchased the car out of town and our local dealership has diagnosed the cause of the smell to be water on the passenger side floorboard. Now I

to dry. Used a shop vac to suck up the remainder of the water on the floor and got it nearly fully dry. Did not pick up the rug to check under that for moisture but the carpets all dried out without any mold or mildew or smells. Unfortunately a few days later a dash board sensor light for the seat belt came on . Despite my best efforts to locate the problem I needed to take it to an independent bmw

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 Alarm Keeps going off

Hi all. I have a z4 2006 3.0 litre. I havent had it long about 2 months. About a week ago the alarm started going off just after I has set it roughly about a minute after. Its now started going off randomly at any time. Ive tried turning off the internal sensor by double bliping the key this has made no difference. Its not been going off due to passing traffic as its in a private parking area. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

BMW Z3 E36 His and Hers Z4s Part II

Its Friday evening and I am now home with my very own Z4MC. 1325 miles from Tyler TX to Virginia Beach VA. What a great drive I encountered NO bad weather on the trip back. Drove I-20 from Tyler to Atlanta then picked up I-85. By that time I had been in the seat for 13 hours and I was tired and my back had started to hurt so I stopped last night to get some sleep at 8PM. Atlanta was going to be a decision

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 Reproduceable Check Engine Soon fault

I have a problem Id like to find a few answers to before the dealer makes a second attempt at fixing my car. OK heres what happened. Check engine light came on. Took her in at 730 on Friday morning. BMW Z3 E36 Laser Jammer and Radar Detector for my Z4 si

Howdy Folks First off Im no terror on the highways. However I do enjoy cruising at speeds higher than generally deemed legal. For my Radar Detector I think Im going with BELTRONICS RX65. Just note that in the UK you run a high risk of getting banned if they find you with a laser jammer (or a device that has another function (parking sensor garage opener)). Officer did not get a reading radioed ahead car stopped searched and device found. Perhaps the US laws are different though.

BMW Z3 E36 [Z4] OEM alarm - how sensitive is it

For the 2nd time this summer a co-worker has come into my office to say they found someone sitting on my car. Our parking garage is near the Sears Tower and isnt exclusive to us so we get a lot of tourists in there and they often take pictures of my car. It looks like the bolder ones are even perching on the fenders for some shots. I figure the alarm going off would case them off the car before they scratched or dinged it but I dont know if something like that would even set it off. Would it

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 s about mod for Ron

Ron I am considering modifing the front licence bracket I need to install by attaching some sort of L bracket to the bmw front license plate holder. This will allow me to screw into the area under the grills and in fron of the diffuser (air intake) on the bottom. My question is you have taken off the front bumper. Is there anything in that area that I could damage if I put screws there (where the circles are) instead in my bumper up front Thanks Brent

You can put the screws there. I have the fixing bracket for my front parking sensor (which sits just under the license plate) there

BMW Z3 E36 Z3 Anyone have pics of engine bay wo engine

Im trying to track down some photos of an empty Z3 engine bay. As I further plan my electric conversion Im hoping to get some pics that can help me plan ahead and see what Ill need to make motor mounts. thanks

My Z4 has two modes (three if you count off). DSC and DTC. Push the button once to switch off DSC and engage DTC. Push and hold for 3 seconds to disable both. I tried all 3 settings on an icy parking lot they are distinctly different. Clipped below is the bmw ditty on each. In direct reply to your query how does it override pedal input this appears to be through the DME or ECU (engine control unit).

BMW Z3 E36 Whos Garaging Their Z For the Winter

Im driving mine a lot less in the cold weather. The Z3 is a lot more fun in the California sunshine at 90 degrees. Right now the top is up and its parked in the garage at least this month. Discuss amongst yourselves...

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Pdc

Just got my 530xi back from two months of wreck repairs. PDCs audio and sometimes video is reporting priximity of things when I am driving 40 MPH with nothing near me. Any idea about what is going wrong

If you are on a dip the sensors will trigger. It happens often with me when I am pulling into a main road from a parking lot. Most of the time there is a fairly steep drop (good enoug to scrape my Z4 if I was not careful) in many lot. In such situations the car is no longer flat and the sensors are beaming down towards the road. If there is a stone or any other imperfection they will reflect the wave back and trigger the sensor.

MERCEDES BENZ CLASS C III 204 Can I Special-Order Parktronic for US C300 Sport

I picked up my Z4 from the dealer this evening. The warranty expires in November and I had about 3000 in warranty work done. While I was waiting for them to pull the car around I looked at a new C300 Sport that was on the showroom floor. A look led to a drive which led to me falling in love with the car. Only one problem - I need at least rear Parktronic because I have a few titanium plates that are
