BMW Z3 E36 Z4 AUX Input

I have a 2004 Z4 with the standard Business CD single CD head unit. I want to use the AUX input with it. I called the dealer and they dont have a cable for that. I have read other posts in here and there are a lot pertaining to the AUX input cable (part 82110149389) but none specifically for the Z4. Are the cables the same Thanks for the help.

The Aux. Cable for the Z4 is identical to the 3 Series cable BUT youll have to remove the outer plastic clip on the end that plugs into the back of the radio. The inner clip can be held in place with a piece of electical tape as it just slips over the pins (doesnt snap in). Make sure it goes over the correct pins or it wont work. There are other posts here and on Roadfly.Org showing pictures of the

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 - auxiliary input pinout or pics

Anyone know the pinout for the auxiliary input cable for the Business head unit Any pics of it or can someone point me to which port I have not pulled the head unit so I would guess there might be more than one open port for other options. Before anyone suggests yup I have seen the factory kilts for the ash tray. Im looking to do something a little different. Making up my own cable might be a better option. thanks brent

I dont think it matters where the aux-in is for Z4. You need to pop the cover to for the power adapter. I had it installed and tthogut it is a good location. I dont know the pin out. It plugs into the head unit on the lower right looking at it from the back. You dont need to pull the head unit. You can reach in by removing the panel under the ACHeater control.

BMW Z3 E36 Need 2006 z4 m input

Hello Bimmer Fans I am in the process of purchasing a newused bmw Z4 Roadster. Have been a bmw enthusiast for 15 years or so. I have test driven them all and am looking at a 2006 M with 7500 miles. Sports nav and manual transmission. Dealer is asking 33K and it seems to me that this is a decent deal as I am finding the 3.0SI for this amount in some instances. If you could voice your opinion as to the pricing I would greatly appreciate it Thanks O

Sounds a bit high but it depends a lot on the area. Does it have extended leather (the FULL door panel will be wrapped in leather sun visors windshield frame roll bars) Also is it a CPO at a bmw dealer...if not remember that unless it has the extended warranty it will be up sometime in the next year or so.

Quote Originally Posted by Odelay It is not a CPO but the 1st registration date is 907 so there are 2 years left on the original warranty. Yes it has extended leather. I think it MAY have the performance package but these people dont know anything about the car. Be careful about 1st registration date- some of these cars were punched (start of warranty) well before they were ever sold or registered. You need to verify exactly when the warranty started. No such thing as a performance package on a Z4 M.

I found out that the in service date is March 07 so that gives me almost 2 years on the existing warratny. Oh yea I bought the bad boy yesterday got them to discount it a bit. I think I got a great deal as the dealership had no clue as to what this car had as far as options. Thank you all very much for all of your input and help

To get the best sound from your Ipod get a line out cable rather than using just a earphone jack cable to the aux input. The sound is better and you dont have to mess with the volume control on the ipod.

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 Can someone point me to M Roadster Coupe Aux Input instructions

I know my dealer has the kit for 80 but I thought I saw a while back that Ron or others used the e46 kit for about half that amount. Not too worried about to cost. I dont plan on mounting the kit I plan on leaving it behind the radio connected to a MM 18 stereo adapter going to my TomTom720. Will use it for iPod control live traffic weather Nav everything but Bluetooth phone functionality. Obviously

BMW Z3 E36 Z4 Owners with floppy aux input panels

I know that there are a lot of you out there. Its not a big problem because the loose panel doesnt rattle. However ifwhen you get a chance dont forget to have the dealer replace your floppy one with a new one. The new panel is rock solid and feels just about bullet proof. So next time you are at the dealership have them order you a replacement. -Eric

Got mine replaced after about a week. It drove me mad ...

I dont even know where it is. Of course I only get to drive the car a few weeks in any given year as Im never home. So where is it

its directly about the ashtraycigarette lighter on the right hand side the trick is you have to lower your head pretty far down to see it under there

Mine has never been a problem.

BMW Z3 E36 Help me Decide Sold 911 buying either Z3 3.0 or early Z4 3.0 (Beemer newbie)

Folks - At age 49 I recently purchased my dream car a Porsche 911. Mine was a 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Coupe 6 speed low miles and in superb condition. Simply put it was too much gun and at 30000 more money than I felt comfortable spending on a depreciating occasional use auto. I also did not particularly care for the long throw shift heavy clutch combo when noodling around town. (At speed these cars

BMW Z3 E36 Z3 or Z4

First time bmw buyer Im looking at a 2000 Z3 2.3 manual trans 67000 mi. and a 2004 Z4 3.0 manual trans 53000 mi. Im looking for input as to pros and cons of each. I like the red Z3 my wife likes the gray Z4.

almost a decades difference in build quality from a Z3 to a Z4... think early 90s civic to early 2000s civic. Z3s between 2001-2002 and Z4s between 2004 and 2006 generally shared the same engines though the Z4s had a few minor modifications - which could be a negative. Engine 2003 - 2005 Z4) The engines in these care were a direct carry over from the late model Z3s. However for marketing reasons bmw

BMW Z3 E36 Help purchasing 1st Z3possible Z4 what do I need to know

Hello Im giving serious consideration to the purchase of a Z3 or Z4 . Im willing to travel for the right auto. This will be my first bmw so Im going to need some help from the experts on this site on what I should look for. I have a 10000-11000 budget. I want a car with low mileage (under 60k) and garage kept. I have found a few nice cars that fit my price range but I dont want to rush into a purchase

B.S. I was in a hurry late in the day. The Z4s are tiny. I think there was more storage room in the old MGBs. Look hard at the interior. Blems can show up where you would least expect and help your negotiations. Good Luck again. Quote Originally Posted by Meat Head Hello Im giving serious consideration to the purchase of a Z3 or Z4 . BMW Z3 E36 Z4 Problems with the Z4...

First off my intention is not to start a complaint thread. Im just wondering whether there are any known problems that are common to the Z4. To start my 2007 left me stranded this past weekend with 3000 miles on the odometer. It turns out that my alternator went south. In addition my bmw Assist system was disconnected (from the very start it has never worked) and the dash panel that holds the aux input
