The Aux. Cable for the Z4 is identical to the 3 Series cable BUT youll have to remove the outer plastic clip on the end that plugs into the back of the radio. The inner clip can be held in place with a piece of electical tape as it just slips over the pins (doesnt snap in). Make sure it goes over the correct pins or it wont work. There are other posts here and on Roadfly.Org showing pictures of the

I dont think it matters where the aux-in is for Z4. You need to pop the cover to for the power adapter. I had it installed and tthogut it is a good location. I dont know the pin out. It plugs into the head unit on the lower right looking at it from the back. You dont need to pull the head unit. You can reach in by removing the panel under the ACHeater control.

Sounds a bit high but it depends a lot on the area. Does it have extended leather (the FULL door panel will be wrapped in leather sun visors windshield frame roll bars) Also is it a CPO at a bmw dealer...if not remember that unless it has the extended warranty it will be up sometime in the next year or so.

Be careful about 1st registration date- some of these cars were punched (start of warranty) well before they were ever sold or registered. You need to verify exactly when the warranty started. No such thing as a performance package on a Z4 M.
I found out that the in service date is March 07 so that gives me almost 2 years on the existing warratny. Oh yea I bought the bad boy yesterday got them to discount it a bit. I think I got a great deal as the dealership had no clue as to what this car had as far as options. Thank you all very much for all of your input and help
remove vents remove radio plug cable into back route cable to ashtray (or even easier panel under AC controls) put radio back put vents back.

To get the best sound from your Ipod get a line out cable rather than using just a earphone jack cable to the aux input. The sound is better and you dont have to mess with the volume control on the ipod.

Ron or others used the e46 kit for about half that amount. Not too worried about to cost. I dont plan on mounting the kit I plan on leaving it behind the radio connected to a MM 18 stereo adapter going to my TomTom720. Will use it for iPod control live traffic weather Nav everything but Bluetooth phone functionality. Obviously would rather use the Aux vs. RF Modulator built into the unit and my bmw
Got mine replaced after about a week. It drove me mad ...
I dont even know where it is. Of course I only get to drive the car a few weeks in any given year as Im never home. So where is it
its directly about the ashtraycigarette lighter on the right hand side the trick is you have to lower your head pretty far down to see it under there
Mine has never been a problem.
almost a decades difference in build quality from a Z3 to a Z4... think early 90s civic to early 2000s civic. Z3s between 2001-2002 and Z4s between 2004 and 2006 generally shared the same engines though the Z4s had a few minor modifications - which could be a negative. Engine 2003 - 2005 Z4) The engines in these care were a direct carry over from the late model Z3s. However for marketing reasons bmw
B.S. I was in a hurry late in the day. The Z4s are tiny. I think there was more storage room in the old MGBs. Look hard at the interior. Blems can show up where you would least expect and help your negotiations. Good Luck again. Quote Originally Posted by Meat Head Hello Im giving serious consideration to the purchase of a Z3 or Z4 .
