That sucks. Seems like it should have alerted you. That is not an insignificant object for the sensors to miss.
if this can be taken up with the dealer or if Im stuck just lodging an insurance claim Ive attached photo to show location of pole and I was reversing out of another spot not back into the space shown. Reverse speed was slow as I was watching front end in order to miss a wall in front of me as I angled out. Is it just wishful thinking that this would be a faulty sensor and I could claim on bmw
Impossible to claim through bmw as there is a big Disclaimer to never rely on your cameras and sensors posted everywhere on your iDrive and Manual
1 - Driver must have pulled in reverse fast while turning on a radius causing the concrete pole to Jump out in the path of the cars direction thereby swinging into the pole before the sensors could activate.

how to reset the front Parking Assist for bmw X5 2007 ( turn on or off ) Thank you
Hey Dan I was in the same position last month actually. I bought a used 2010 bmw X5 and because of the height preferred to have a backup camera. I did a bunch of research for about a week called a few local shops and chatted with 3 online stores. I ended up buying the Jemko one because the sales guy knew what he was talking about and the system price was fair compared to the other places. I had the
beacongeorge who did you use in Atlanta Do you know if this works with the non-navigation screen If it does I might have the Jemko installed on my two X5s. 200 total cost isnt bad IMO.
I am thinking about installing one for our 2010 x5. I got a video interface and camera off ebay for about 300. I am planning to install it myself. If its turns out to be too difficult I will probably find some pro to do it I would love to share my experience after I am done. I made a mistake and bought the wrong video interface unit. It will fit a 2006-2008 X5 or E60E90 35 series. Pls let me know if you are interested. Otherwise I am sending it back to the seller.
i spent part of the day teaching my 15 year old daughter how to drive on a chevy 1500 today. this particular model has a tall hood. first thing i noticed was that she was trying to look over the hood rather than looking where she was going. oddly enough she figured out that crap doesnt just jump up out in front of you. sorry george but your wife needs to look thru the windshield not down the hood. sensors please we dont need no more stinking sensors.

that has a million sensors and gadgets to take away the experience of driving a car in its purest form. If this continues we would have side mirrors that can sense a close objectperson and automatically folds back or sensors in the front tires to quickly manuver the car out of the lane when a pothole is detected up front etc ................. soon you will be able to sit on your couch yell out X5

You can test it by backing up to a wall in a parking garage if
You can get by with buying one sensor and reuse the other three. Cant believe the shop just kept the old sensor. Be careful buying the sensors because the technology changed with 2011 model year. I had to buy new sensors for the winter set that I purchased used. Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

That is good news. Now... Where to find one sensor. Maybe my dealer will sell me just one.
Ever since HUF bought out the BERU brand the sensors are more readily available through your favorite retailers such as Tirerack and other eBay sellers ... But ... pay attention to HOW the mechanical valve is attached to the electronics body AND how the valve is fastened against the rim - see attached pictures. bmws design is more robust (safer) in my opinion ... I guess this is to prevent things from

Although my rain sensor works just fine but Im pretty sure that they are different sensors located differently. HUD brightness can be adjusted in the iDrive menu and it I believe stays the same no matter what.

car to a computer it will run the diagnostic we will check wiring etc etc. In 3 hours they come back and say - yes the sensor did not work but we will not replace it - we will re-initialize it. Indeed soon I get the car back and rain sensing started to work. Good thing - they did not charge me. The dealers are between a rock and a hard place on this topic. If they do not follow the protocol that bmw
They had to remove sensors from one set of my rims and they had to remove one side of the tire slide the tire to the opposite side and removed the sensor. They will still charge you a mounting fee for only doing 12 of the mounting.
