BMW X5 Faulty rear sensors New X5

So we got new X5 just before Christmas. Loaded with all the parking assist known to man. Today I reversed into a concrete pillon which was in my blind spot. Yes Im an idiot . But shouldnt the sensors and camera have alerted me to this There was no greenyellow red on the video no auditory sound at all until I actually smacked the pole. Wondering if this can be taken up with the dealer or if Im stuck

That sucks. Seems like it should have alerted you. That is not an insignificant object for the sensors to miss.

if this can be taken up with the dealer or if Im stuck just lodging an insurance claim Ive attached photo to show location of pole and I was reversing out of another spot not back into the space shown. Reverse speed was slow as I was watching front end in order to miss a wall in front of me as I angled out. Is it just wishful thinking that this would be a faulty sensor and I could claim on bmw

Impossible to claim through bmw as there is a big Disclaimer to never rely on your cameras and sensors posted everywhere on your iDrive and Manual

1 - Driver must have pulled in reverse fast while turning on a radius causing the concrete pole to Jump out in the path of the cars direction thereby swinging into the pole before the sensors could activate.

BMW X5 E70 Parking sensors -turn off sound

I have a bike rack (bmw one) on the back of my X5. Every time I put it in reverse the parking sensor warning tone goes off. It is a real pain to have to hit the disable parking sensor button on the dash every time I put the car in reverse. Is there a setting to deactivate it My dealer says that is just the way it is.

BMW X5 E70 2011 Backup Camera & Sensors

I just purchased a 2011 bmw X5 whoch unfortunatley came without a backup camera. I have found a few online that integrate with the i-drive but would really like feedback from the forum. It looks like ModMyNav and Jemko Systems offer a decent Option for camera. Any feedback on these two or another one that is better Also is there a good options for backup sensors

Hey Dan I was in the same position last month actually. I bought a used 2010 bmw X5 and because of the height preferred to have a backup camera. I did a bunch of research for about a week called a few local shops and chatted with 3 online stores. I ended up buying the Jemko one because the sales guy knew what he was talking about and the system price was fair compared to the other places. I had the

beacongeorge who did you use in Atlanta Do you know if this works with the non-navigation screen If it does I might have the Jemko installed on my two X5s. 200 total cost isnt bad IMO.

I am thinking about installing one for our 2010 x5. I got a video interface and camera off ebay for about 300. I am planning to install it myself. If its turns out to be too difficult I will probably find some pro to do it I would love to share my experience after I am done. I made a mistake and bought the wrong video interface unit. It will fit a 2006-2008 X5 or E60E90 35 series. Pls let me know if you are interested. Otherwise I am sending it back to the seller.

BMW X5 E70 Front sensors would be a lot better

if it would be enabled all the time. My wife was coming home the other day with the X5 (her car is an Lexus LS 460) and almost smacked the garage wall as she forgot to activate the front sensors. Has anyone tried to have it wired somehow as to always be turned on I guess one problem is that it turns the sensor viewer on as well. I know sooner or later this will not end well because she is spoiled with the Lexus that doesnt require activation.

i spent part of the day teaching my 15 year old daughter how to drive on a chevy 1500 today. this particular model has a tall hood. first thing i noticed was that she was trying to look over the hood rather than looking where she was going. oddly enough she figured out that crap doesnt just jump up out in front of you. sorry george but your wife needs to look thru the windshield not down the hood. sensors please we dont need no more stinking sensors.

that has a million sensors and gadgets to take away the experience of driving a car in its purest form. If this continues we would have side mirrors that can sense a close objectperson and automatically folds back or sensors in the front tires to quickly manuver the car out of the lane when a pothole is detected up front etc ................. soon you will be able to sit on your couch yell out X5

BMW X5 E70 mixing TPMS sensors (i know redundant)

I needed to swap one tire from my summer set to my winter set. I use 333 wheels for both sets but have dedicated winter tires on one set. One of my winter wheels needed a repair so I needed to take a summer tire off one of my summer set and replace with a winter tire while the wheel was being repaired. The tire shop took the sensor from the wheel I need repaired and placed in on the new wheel. I was

You can get by with buying one sensor and reuse the other three. Cant believe the shop just kept the old sensor. Be careful buying the sensors because the technology changed with 2011 model year. I had to buy new sensors for the winter set that I purchased used. Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

That is good news. Now... Where to find one sensor. Maybe my dealer will sell me just one.

Ever since HUF bought out the BERU brand the sensors are more readily available through your favorite retailers such as Tirerack and other eBay sellers ... But ... pay attention to HOW the mechanical valve is attached to the electronics body AND how the valve is fastened against the rim - see attached pictures. bmws design is more robust (safer) in my opinion ... I guess this is to prevent things from

Anyone have the same issue or have a fix I assume they arent paint friendly. I have about 18000 mi on the truck and all but one of the rear sensors are bubbling and peeling. The front sensors are perfect.

BMW X5 E70 Front Sensors Only Work in Reverse

Ive noticed that my front parking sensors only activate after Ive shifted into reverse. Often times I may be pulling into a parking spot head on or turning into a spot and it would be great to hearsee what Im getting close to... but only silence - that is until I shift to reverse then the front and rear are both active. Is there a setting or something I can change or is this just how its made

BMW X5 E70 Rain sensors

Seems like something wrong with the rain sensors - if I put wipers to A position it does not care raining hard or not giving me a wipe every several seconds regardless. I have a suspicion that the same sensor senses brightness outside - because my HUD is on the same brightness regardless day or night and practically invisible daytime. Am I right Any way to check that sensor

Although my rain sensor works just fine but Im pretty sure that they are different sensors located differently. HUD brightness can be adjusted in the iDrive menu and it I believe stays the same no matter what.

Indeed soon I get the car back and rain sensing started to work. Good thing - they did not charge me. The dealers are between a rock and a hard place on this topic. BMW X5 E70 question about TPMS sensors

Are the TPMS sensors located on the rim If so in order to remove the sensor do you have to take the tire all the way off the rim Or can you simply break the tire loose from the rim

They had to remove sensors from one set of my rims and they had to remove one side of the tire slide the tire to the opposite side and removed the sensor. They will still charge you a mounting fee for only doing 12 of the mounting.
