BMW X5 E70 Exposed reading lights in back seat -- three-year-old son was burned

I just purchased an X5 a couple of weeks ago and am brand new to bmw having owned the Lexus GX and the Acura MDX prior to this car. I have two boys -- a three year old and an infant. A couple of days ago my three year old reached up and turned on the reading spotlight above his head. He then reached in and touched the exposed reading light which resulted in a burn and blister on his finger. He was

I think thats harsh. You can put matches and lighters out of reach. My wife even put those annoying covers on all the electric outlets to make them fork proof and had locks on all tha cabinets and toilet seats. Those things you can control. But I bet the OP bought a bmw because heshe thought it would be a safe car for the kiddos to ride around in. Outside of duct-taping the little monsters hands to

BMW X5 E70 10000 Mile Review and Pics

Decided to give my X5 a bath and wax since it wasnt 150 degrees here today. Reached 10000 miles last week and decided to post an update. Still loving the new twin turbo 6 after having suffered with the old non-turbo 6 in my 2007 X5. Ive noticed a few other differences between the two models along with some nagging similarities. PROS Great motor along with excellent 8 speed tranny. Really notice the

Hi We have just purchased a 2011 X5. We have 2 Dalmatian dogs that we carry in the back of the vehicle. We would like to get a pet crate to put in the back to carry the dogs. It is difficult to find one the fits the vehicle and fits the dogs. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a crate that fits the back of the X5

I would like to be able to tote him around in the new SUV (on occasion) but need a similiar liner where I can have the entre back covered but be able to put up just the double seat or the single seat. BMW X5 E70 From Diesel to 5.0 M-Sport Adaptive Drive Review Photos

As some of you may know I bought a Diesel in June. I was originally interested in the Mercedes ML BlueTEC and even made a deal on one. By chance while my 535 was in for service I test drove the X5 Diesel. It was a standard non sport version. I really liked the X5 on the test drive compared to the ML. It seemed much more responsive much more sporty much more fitting with my taste and style. I even thought

BMW X5 E70 Wife test drove an X5 35d and....

She loved it Weve been thinking about picking up an X5 for awhile now for her so took advantage of something minor going wrong on my E93 to try out an X5 loaner. Not only did I score an X5 loaner but also the diesel which we were both interested in. Not interested in the 35i since theyre too common and one of my wifes friends already has one and hated the gas mileage so it was either the 35d or the

BMW X5 E70 Which Cargo Liner with 3rd row

All I am looking to get the bmw All weather floor liner and cargo liner for my new X5. I have the 3rd row but in all likelihood the 3rd row will be folded down most of the time so I wasnt sure if should get the floor liners for all three rows and a cargo liner with 3rd row seats or get the floor liners for frontrear seats and get a cargo liner without 3rd row seats Is one option better than the other Any thoughts Thanks in advance -N

OP I have this two sided floor mat - bmw Luggage Compartment Two-Sided Trunk Mat . Pros The non stick plastic actually does work quite nicely small items rarely slide around. This mat will cover the entire area when both 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded down - i.e. if you spill anything it will not stain the back of the 2nd row seat Matches the interior trim Cons Although the fit and finish is good

BMW X5 E53 2004 BMW X5 Panoramic Sunroof - Faulty

Hi please can anyone help I have a 2004 X5 with an electric panoramic sunroof. The rear roof is faulty and only opens slightly but then doesnt close at all. This stops the front roof closing and I have to use the manual winding tool and then push the rear roof raising arms back manually to shut the roof. As soon as I touch any button for the roof it goes straight back to the same position. Any ideas please Many thanks.

I have an 2006 3.0 X5 and have a similar problem with the panoramic sunroof - the glass closed fine but the rear panel does not come out of the back any longer. the front panel over the driver is in place but the real panel that covers the passengers in the rear seats seems to be stuck. Same expensive thing told by the dealer to fix and no warranty. bummer. b

BMW X5 E70 Seat Protector Question

It says in the Accessories catalogue that the front seat covers arent for the comfort seats. Are these the same as the current Contour seats Where can I get seat covers for these seats that are OEM I love my dog but I love my leather seats as well

I too have a dog that I dont want ruining the seats in my new car. I didnt like the look or the sloppiness factor of the covers offered by bmw. I ordered a back seat cover from Automotive Interiors earlier this week. I dont have them yet so I cant really say how theyre going to look but from the photos on the website they appeared to be a very good fit as they are custom fitted to the bench seat in

sadieschoicex52 - they are not actually seat covers it is a pad that goes in the back seat to protect your seats from animal hair and claw marks. It is so convenient and easy to put in and take out. I had to call in and order mine. Their toll free number is 1-866-818-9901. They offer excellent customer service. I was referred there by CoverCraft the makers of the pet pad seat savers.

BMW X5 E70 Nappa Leather VS. Nevada Leather

Hi Guys curious if their is really a big difference between the two leathers.... i like a comfortable seat and dont want to make a mistake... which do you like better and why Thanks

without a warranty if needed. We live in San Francisco and my wife and I share the car. She gets her pick this time and she definitely wants a small SUV. Were considering the GLK the X3 and possibly the X5. Right now I think wed go X3 if we were buying today. If you enjoy driving and feeling the road itll be an easy decision to purchase the X3. The GLK doesnt compare. This will be our first bmw.

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 530i vs 528 i vs. 535 i which one

I know there are alot of factors involved but I am looking to trade my 2004 x5 4.4 on a CPO 5 series. I am looking at a 2007 or a 2008 model in the Northeast Fl area. My question is this How much of an advantage is there in drivability of the 2008 535i over the 2007 530i There is a significant price difference. Another thing I do not understant is that the 530i is rated 2029 mileage where the smaller

Is it worth it to buy the extended service plan out to 100k miles for 2200It apparently covers not only oil changes but also brake pads and rotors etc. I will likely keep the car until then unless I trade it in a couple of years for a CPO F10 or perhaps a Gran Turismo. for big items. Did you have auto-sport trans with padle shifter this is new for 08 535i and you know what happens to something new the HW seems to be the (well proven)ZF HP19 but SW is new. Also waste gate actuator ratling problems is rather common replacing turbos can be expensive. ext maintenance is rip off in my book cause it only covers oil change and brakes maybe wiper blade big deal. bmw

Pretty sure I got a hell of a deal yesterday bought through Carmax in Burbank CA. Had them transfer it in got there--fully loaded including nav premium sport heated seats 19 W-rated Pirellis. 30998 Blue

BMW SERIES 3 F30 help me decide between 3 series and 5

Hello. I am in the market to buy a new car and I found my criteria in the bmw (5 series3 series). -Luxurious - Fairly powerful -New model -Reasonable Price -Great driving experience -sedan But I am confused and here I have some questions if you do not mind I would like to ask. I am very confused between the 5 series and the 3 series since they almost look the same and they are around 10k apart which

more involving than a Lexus or any other Japanese car. More engaging and rewarding to drive than any other German car as well. As noted if you dont like a hard suspensionride dont get the sportline and get the smallest wheels and tires available on the stock car. dont get the adaptive suspension or sports transmission either. Both cars are essentially the same in terms of reliability and value. bmws

BMW X3 E83 Please help an eager newbie

Ok folks have finally had enough repairs with my 2000 Tahoe and want to downsize and (finally) own a bmw. Have always loved them but at the time I bought my T there was not a SUV option from bmw. Anyhoo I love the size of the X5 but really really want to go back to a man tran. I am tall and was perhaps a bit more comfortable in the X5 but I also think I am used to the hulking size of my current ride.

by amazonb Anyhoo I love the size of the X5 but really really want to go back to a man tran. We have an 07 X3 with the Manual Transmission. Great car. The new motor has a absurd amount of torque. Downshifting is optional. Manual transmission X3s are rare. It does feel like most of them are owned by bimmerfest members. There is quite a bit of usable space inside. Rear seat is really easy to fold. bmw
