BMW X1 E84 Need help about the Run Flat and the suspension

Hi My X1 hit the road curb at a high speed (about 60 mph I think...). Only the right front wheel and the right rear wheel hit it vertically. I heard a kind of loud sound and the car jumped... After that none of them were punctured (I was really surprised...) and the tire pressure system showed the pressure is OK. No warnings. I didnt feel any difference while driving it the tires looked good the balance

BMW X1 E84 M Sport package Suspension

Looking for some comments on the ride of the M sport package... Weve had 5 series wagons and X5. The X5 with the premium sport package had a very harsh ride so harsh that my wife refused to ride in it ...It was great for the driver but... The 5 series wagons all had very good firm rides but we did not trick them out with 18 or 19 wheels...What about the MSport package on the X1 trying to decide if

We have a M-sport and the ride seemed fine for me when I am driving. The problem though is the back seat- it is pretty rough riding in the back. The back seat itself is pretty firm and the rear suspension seems to be fairly stiff.

BMW X1 E84 Clicking noise from rear

Hi all We seem to be having a clicking (its not really clicking but I dont know how to describe it) noise coming from the rear of our car. Its more noticeable on turns and almost seems to be coming from the passenger side. Ive had cars with suspension issues before and it sounds like it could be coming from there. Ive gotta make an appt with the dealer but I was wondering if anyone else is having this

BMW X1 E84 First Drive 2013 BMW X1 xDrive35i with Photos and Video

After years of waiting bmw fans in the United States are finally getting the bmw X1 added into the line up. Since the bmw X1 was introduced the Sport Activity Vehicle has sold more than 300000 units worldwide. For the 2013 model year the United States looks to start adding to those sales totals. We first saw the US Spec bmw X1 at the New York Auto Show in April and were impressed by the presence it

BMW SERIES 3 F30 Ultimate drive F30 vs X1 Thoughts

My wife will be in the market for a new kid-hauler sometime in the next year or so. Went to the ultimate drive event yesterday. Drove the 328xi (Base no line) X1.28xi Sportline and 535xi. While the 535 was really nice I wont really discuss it because it is a car I would never buy. Just too big. 328i Xdrive. Overall I had mixed impressions. Pros -I really liked the N20 engine. Nice punch for a 4-pot.

have the idrive display screen at all since she didnt get navigation. Just the regular radio. She did get the cool plywood like trim and power seats. These help the interior comfort and look. Outside the Xline package really looks good. Bigger 18 wheels and nicer trim. She also got the aluminum roof rails. At 250 I feel like the rails are an absolute must. Black plastic strips on top of a nice bmw

BMW X1 E84 does the M-Sport indeed have a special handling programming that is unique to it

There was a review of the X1 Xdrive35 and only recall only seeing it in one that had stated the M-Sport has a special programming in it that routes 80% of the torque to the rear wheels and engages the brakes on the inner wheel(s) to help it turn betterfaster... A) Is this indeed the case B) Does one indeed need to purchase M-Sport to get this Sport line does not Thanx for any informed replies...

I can only speak to the 2013 X1 and X3 xDrive M Sport packages but I cant see why the 2014 would be any different. The M Sport is the only model that features a sports suspension and the xDrive models get the Performance Control option which features a 8020 rear bias (6040 for standard xDrives) as well as a simplified version of the X6s torque vectoring Dynamic Performance Control when cornering. bmw

If I could offer a belated offering to this interesting thread I wanted to point out that Performance Control for the X3 is not an exclusive feature of the MSport package it is also included in the Dynamic Handling package. If you get both packages bmw acknowledges the overlap by giving a 100 discount. DHP includes three components 1) Dynamic dampers (the only suspension upgrade offered in the US for

BMW X1 E84 x1 spare wheel

Hi Guys not having the spare wheel worries me i ordered the mobility kit but does not satisfy me any ideas on how to get a spare space saver wheel for the x1

Hi Again My RFT were only available at 1 place their Warehouse in Brisbane. Cost around 380 ea. or around 500 ea bmw Assist. If you have a flat after lunch on Sat. most places are closed and if they dont have your brand you could be up for 2 just point Im making. So if you travel a lot with RFTs on our roads its probably better to have insurance especially accomodation for Sat. and Sun. night waiting

BMW X1 E84 My review of the x28i after 600 miles

Ive had my AW x28i Sportline walmost all options for nearly 3 weeks and more than 600 miles and wanted to provide my review of its proscons based on the short time Ive had with it. FWIW I came off a 2011 X5 to the X1 so I am adapting to some things on the X1 myself. Reason for the switch is my wife refuses to drive the X5 (she drove it 2X in more than 2 yrs of ownership) due to its size and weight

BMW X1 E84 observations after 200 miles.

Now that Ive driven my X1 sDrive xLine for a couple of hundred miles Id like to share my observations to help others in their buying decision and to see if other owners share similar observations. BMW X1 E84 X1 making the family sick..

Finally took the new car out on the motorway for a 3hr drive and for the first time ever we all arrived at the hotel feeling sick. My wife had a pain in her neck and a horrible headache. The baby vomited on route and cried a lot. I felt quite sea-sick and I was driving (and on dry land) The X1 has unbelievably hard suspension which makes it rock when one wheel encounters a bump or any kind of undulation

we have an 08 X3 & it had a trucky ride from the start especially noticeable for rear seat passengers - we had a used Audi A6 for awhile and the ride was very cushy in comparison - but most of the roads that we travel are fairly smooth and the relatively stiffer ride is a small con compared to the many pluses of the X3 - I realize were talking X1 but Im assuming the suspensions of all X models are

many pluses of the X3 - I realize were talking X1 but Im assuming the suspensions of all X models are of similar design & components. sounds to me like (1) the suspension of the X1 is a dramatic change from what you were driving before (2) you were essentially off road driving or (3) the shocks & struts need replacing . good luck The car is 5 weeks old so the suspension should be OK but this is bmw...

BMW X1 E84 BMW X1 vs Acura RDX

Im looking to purchase an SUV in the near future and have decided on either the X1 Msport with Xdrive or the Acura RDX with Tech Package. Now Ive test driven both of these vehicles and tend to like the bmw more than the Acura but my co-workers have told me horror stories about driving a bmw up in Virginia Maryland. My last bmw was an M3 that was driven primarily in Texas Florida where the temperature

I seriously considered an RDX AWD before purchasing the X1. The RDX is a solid value with good power and exceptional fuel economy but it falls short in a few areas. The price is very competitive but Ive never liked the all or nothing pricing strategy Acura uses. I understand that it simplifies the manufacturing process but buying one large package to get one or two options you may want is ridiculous.

many people up here. What Im more concerned with is the after effects of the snow (pot holes cracked roads horrible road maintenance). I am planning on moving a bit further west where I may encounter deeper snow (hence the SUV and questions) but from what I have been reading the ride comfort and height should be perfect for what Im looking for. Thank you for your feedback 3ismagic. Ive owned a bmw

BMW X1 E84 X1 vs 328i

I have a question regarding which car is better... the 2013 x1 or the 2013 328i. Both cars have the same engine and transmission but the price is significantly lower for the x1. I do not understand how a car that presumably costs about the same to manufacture costs over 6 thousand less. If both the X1 and the 328i have the same internals (or at least similar internals) why does the X1 have a starting

specs are exactly the same and the additional standard features are obviously not worth nearly 7 grand where does those additional thousands in savings come from The interior on the X1 looks just as sophisticated expensive and refined as on the 328i. The design might be different but I for one think the X1 interior is better looking that the one on the 328i. So it begs the question...what did bmw

BMW X1 E84 328i F30 vs N20 X1

I recently put a significant number of miles on a two courtesy F30s one a 2012 and another a 2013. The 2013 did not have any options other than met paint. I believe the MSRP was about 38K. The 2012 had the Tech Package Power Seats and a Sunroof which put it about 40400 MSRP. The base price on the 2012 was 35K. I thnk the price on the 13 was increased to account for the standard power seat. Here are

I checked out the 2013 bmw x1 little further today. Here is a pic of two medium mountain bikes in the back. One bike is a full suspension 26er and the other is a 29er. BMW X1 E84 Test drove x35i X1 from service dept loaner

Oh yeah - what a BIG difference going from a basic stripped down s28i to an almost fully loaded M Sport line x35i My previous post of a stripped down s28i was just awful - steering handling performance and features were about to turn me away until..... I got to drive a service dept loaner X1 x35i and absolutely loved it This X1 had just about everything M sport line with 19 M wheels plus Technology

I custom ordered mine from them since I wanted paddles. The performance on curves could be attributed to Performance Control torque vectoring (exclusive to M Sports on the US). 1 nospam I am glad there are people like you that have the same level of sophistication & specific needs I have. Never thought the X1 M Sport line would be such an improvement over the standard lines. Over the past bmws

BMW X1 E84 My New X1 Ride

I ordered it before I heard about the changes that were coming to the M sport line so I have the 18 summer performance mixed tires . Ill have to put a set of winter or all season tires before hitting the slopes this winter. I dont have bmw

BMW X1 E84 Love BMW hate BMW

Im currently on my fourth bmw. Theyre my favorite cars. I like the way they look I love the way they drive I like the look of the interiors and the smell of the leather on a warm day. Ive had a 330i sedan a 328xi coupe a z4 3.0si and now an X1 xdrive28i. However of my 4 bmws Ive had major issues with 3. I was stranded twice with my 330i. Two bad fuel pumps. I was without my 328 coupe for almost a month

I will never own another Benz. Period. Given their current line of cars even if I wanted to buy one ownership is out of the question because I do not fit in any of them. At 64 there is not enough headroom in any of their sedans. They are too low slung. Their SUVs are gas-hogs not to mention ugly. Fortunately I always had a second car to fall back on either a Toyota or Honda. This is my first bmw

BMW X1 E84 Wheel selections on the X1

So i see 3 options on bmwusa web site 35518 all season 35518 RFT 22519 RFT To be honest I dont like the big gap between tire and fender so I am leaning towards the 22519. Aside from not having the M logo which is not that big of a deal i am more concerned about the width of the tire. Being 225 compare to the 355 wouldnt that be too skinny and set the wheels in also will they not align with the fender I will really hate that look. Feedback welcome.

BMW SERIES 3 F30 328i vs X1 price to value ratio BMW screw job

I cant help but notice that the bmw X1 is a small SUV with the exact same 240 horsepower turbo 4 cylinder engine 8 speed automatic transmission same interior as a 328i. Yet it cost about 6000 less than a 328i It seems SUVs always cost more than cars due to beefier suspensions and tire and wheel packages (I suppose). I cant help but think that bmw is screwing us on the price of the 328i. If they can sell the X1 for 31K then a 328i should cost about 29K not the 37K that they do.

X1 represents the last generation 3 series platform. So the interior is different than the F30 and it does not offer all the latest technology present in the F30. If you dont care about having the latest tech and are mostly interested in the engine and transmission the X1 is a bargin especially if you just want the base car with few to no options. If you want things like the top and side view cameras

But all I had to do was switch the OEM bulbs to X-Treme Vision and now the difference is trivial. Also - I omitted iDrive from my X1. BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Trade my E92 for the new X1

Hey all I currently drive a 2009 bmw 328 XI Coupe. Just has premium and cold package so is pretty basic. I really love the new X1 and was planning to custom order one My only drawback is i have not seen the car in person or driven one but my dealership is taking orders now and i am just so tempted to get one We want the X1 because we need the towing capacity and the dealership said the X1 should be

Quote Originally Posted by beden1 If youre going to tow you need something like a Chevy Suburban or Tahoe - 8 cylinder engines for towing. Why not wait to see how the x1 diesel options look. It would better to have a strong rear axel for weight but you do not need a v8 to tow it helps but not needed.

BMW X1 E84 Questions about your decision and rating of X1

Hi all Im new to this forum just came here to ask some questions to you current and potential X1 owners about how you made your decisions. Ive never owned a bmw and also not very good with the technical aspects of cars so please bare with me Im interested in the X1 sDrive mostly because of its price but also because I wanted the height of an SUV without the MPG of an SUV (I realize X1 is a crossover

Dont get excited about the mpg expect to see 25mpg or you might be unhappy. For me the X1 was the only car that fit what I was looking for. Coming from a completely problem free 11 year old Toyota crossoverhatch back the X1 and Mini were the only cars that I liked after driving about 20 cars. The third place was the infinity EX35 fourth Audi All-Road.. I like taking corners fast and prefer light weight

BMW X1 E84 X1 28 versus 328

Has anyone driven the X1 4 cyl turbo and the new 328 sedan back to back I test drove many cars and suvs and they all seem either too tall or too big. The 528 A6 X3 GLX EX Allroad and Q5 didnt have that great handling feel that the 2012 328 sedan had. BMW X1 E84 328i vs. X1 s28i

Given the resources Id be more interested in the 2012 328is but the options Id prefer would drive the cost to nearly 50K which is out of reach for me. I can get most of the options I want on the X1 for about 10K less which is appealing. Here are my questions how much would I be losing in handling ability and grunt by getting the heavier and taller X1 Should I instead look for a used 328i sedan. At

The F30 sedan is softer and quieter than the X1. Cant really tell the diff in acceleration. The X1 engine is pleasantly louder but the wind noise is also louder. The F30 gets significantly better MPG like 3-4 MPG on the highway due to better aero at least at a cruising speed of 75-80 MPH. The suspension is much more taught in the X1 which makes it handle better in some ways than the sedan but that

BMW X1 E84 X1 sDrive M-Sport driving impressions from Euro Delivery

I thought I would share some driving impressions from my recent Euro Delivery of my X1 sDrive M-Sport. I currently have a 128i manual with the M Sport package. BMW X1 E84 Review of my x28i 2 months in...

Ive had my 2013 X1 28i for about a thousand miles now so I thought Id post some of my thoughts. Things I like - The sports seats are awesome. Every time I get in the car I think DAMN - this is comfy I havent tried out the regular seats so I cant compare but I wouldnt want to give up the leg bolstering adjustable side bolstering and seat tilt control which are part of what you get with the sports seats.

BMW X1 E84 328xi loaner vs my X1

I was given a 2013 328xi today while my X1 is getting serviced. I have always had second thoughts on not buying a 3er but now just I feel so blessed with the X1 purchase. Initial impressions 1. Steering...You have got to be kidding me bmw. Comfort or Sport mode the steering is just lifeless. It is much thinner than the X1 steering and doesnt even have the bulge for the thumb. I may not consider another

After spending almost an entire day with the 3er I feel the car is growing on me. - It is clearly more nimble and handles corners better than the X1 - I also like the sunroof. Even though it is smaller than the one in X1 it lets a good amount of breeze hit the driver - The air vents and heated seats in the rear are nice - More electronics all around. The option to switch suspension modes while driving

BMW X1 E84 X1 sdrive and xdrive differences

a question for all the mechanics out there what is the difference between the sdrive and xdrive X1 cars apart from the obvious rear wheel only or four wheel drive. specifically does the suspension system change in anyway or is it just simply a change in drive power distribution when needed

I have just read that the X1 Sdrive has a MacPherson strut on the front wheels and a Multi-link system on the rear drive wheels. Can anyone confirm what type of suspension the Xdrive has on the front wheels

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 From X1 to 550i with BMS Stage 1 on the way

Hi F10 community we just traded in our 2013 X1 for a used 2011 550i. We had outgrown the little X1 and we wanted something bigger (and faster). I was a regular poster in the X1 forum (greyX1) but needed to re-register to change my username so this is my first post in the forum. We bought a loaded dark graphite 2011 with extended warranty (44k miles) - I love it I had the BMS stage one unit on our X1

BMW X1 E84 X1 with a manual transmission in the US

I know this has been beaten to death but Im hoping there may be some new intel out there.
