BMW X1 E84 BMW - Passenger airbag light flicker in upper console

Has anyone experienced the passenger airbag light in upper console dimming and flickering by itself I have noticed that on my car Is this normal for this model bmw X1 x28i

I have not noticed that but not sure that I would in the ordinary course. Ill try to look for it.

I havent noticed this. Do you have any bags or packages on the passenger seat that may inadvertently trigger it Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

Yes Ive seen it in my X1 as well. I thought maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me. Nothing on my seat to trigger it either... Hmmm... Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

Yes I also have the same problem mine X1 is just 12 days old I have been advised by the dealer it need a sensor replacement.

BMW X1 E84 Lots of buzz about the X1 but it is even a good vehicle

Ive seen next to no positive reviews about it in the international press where the vehicle has been in service for a while. I expect the same results after the US release. Has anybody who wants to buy one even considered that it wont be a good vehicle Similar to first gen X3 Aside from wanting the SUV look it seems like a 3-series wagon is going to be the infinitely better choice.

My bmw salesman just informed me that the X1 will have limited available this fall. Probably not available at all for ED. We wanted to do a European Delivery for the X1 in Sept or Oct but he indicated that the X1 will come out of their normal limited allocation so the discount will be minimal. Probably a few hundred off US MSRP. I was torn between the X1 and the 2013 328ix for ED. We will probably

BMW X1 E84 a couple of wonky questions for experienced X1 owners

OK I have had my X1 since Friday. I have some questions with probably easy answers that I am overlooking for those who have had their X1s or other bmws for some time... 1 When I turn the car on the IDrive asks me to accept that I recognize that it is dangerous to drive when distracted etc. So I have to push the IDrive control to get beyond that message. Once I ignored it and went to Media and the message

Thanks all I will try again to just ignore that message and see if it doesnt pop up again. As for the airbag sticker - really I have to live with that dopey thing hanging there because of some federal law Dang Gonna make me a libertarian...Are you sure its not the case that the dealer cant remove it but the owner can Like that mattress sticker Do not remove....

When I picked up my ride in Roseville CA the dealer had removed the hanging airbag tag - leaving small little chunks of white stuff under the trim (I too ordered the brushed aluminum) - tweezers used to remove.

OH that airbag thing I thought you were referring to the light that is either on or off based on if there is a passenger. Our dealer took the tag off for us before we bought it. Id just pull it out. Im sure it will be fine.

BMW X1 E84 X1 28 versus 328

Has anyone driven the X1 4 cyl turbo and the new 328 sedan back to back I test drove many cars and suvs and they all seem either too tall or too big. The 528 A6 X3 GLX EX Allroad and Q5 didnt have that great handling feel that the 2012 328 sedan had. My wife and I will be doing our first Europe trip in Sept or Oct this year and want to do a European Delivery of either the X1 or 328ix. The X1 will be

Thank you for your reply. How did you feel about the driving height of the X1 The X3 height seemed too tall for me. I love that the 2013 X1 may have the hydraulic steering. It seems that you can not get the heads up display rear heated seats nor the knee airbags in the USA X1 but the hydraulic steering in the X1 is a real plus. The 328 I test drove was the most fun to drive. Did you get the same feeling in the X1 Thank you.

BMW X1 E84 How to add Paddle Shifters to X1

Buying a used 2013 X1 and I noticed the steering wheel does not have the paddle shifters. So how the hell do I add them - Is it easier to cut the existing steering wheel and add Paddle Shifters - Better off buying a steering wheel that already has Paddle Shifters - Is 92012 X1 considered an LCI So I need LCI Paddles - Do I need a Slip Ring I saw BMS sells a harness for 149 does it eliminate the need

The cutting has been done a few times for SMG paddles on the E46 platform and Ive seen it done on the E9Xs too. The E9Xs are supposed to be compatible with E84. I was thinking it would be easier to get the E92 M3 but I will need a new airbag because I cross-referenced the part numbers and they are different from the E84 ones. I kind of do prefer the thick M wheels anyway. My E92 M3 steering wheel felt

BMW X1 E84 2014 X1 Recal

Has anyone heard more information about the X1 Recall from bmw. It has to do with the power assist brakes running off the camshaft. Interested to hear what is out there.....

Are there 2 recalls for the x1 I got my letter today and it didnt say anything about power brakes. It said its due to emissions Canada standards and something about the airbag signal coming on (which it has before and I brought it in).

BMW X1 E84 Issues with Shutting engine off and Automatic Door Locks

Hi all After having a few days to drive my X1 around and configure some settings I noticed that shutting down exiting the car seems to be a lengthy process or maybe Im just missing something First I have to press the engine startstop button twice Once to shut the engine off and then a second time to shut down the radio and everything else. Otherwise when I get out and shut the door all this stuff

Posted by HotRodW If you press and hold the stopstart button it will shut off the engine first and then the auxiliary power. No need to press the button twice. I cannot comment on the unlocking because I do not have my doors set to auto lock. Maybe holding the button will unlock the doors as well Give it a try and let us know. This is true for some older models apparently including the X1.

BMW X1 E84 Leg room with forward facing car seat

My daughter is 2 yo and she will be riding in the back.. will she be stepping on the back of the front seat Do any of you that have a car seat in the back. Do you use some sort of seat protectorbag

Got to be back seat as you cant disable airbag The legroom on side rear seat is I would say normal Worse case bring a car seat to dealer to see for yourself Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

Quote Originally Posted by bjbolduc Got to be back seat as you cant disable airbag Doesnt the front passenger airbag turn off automatically if not enough weight is put on the seat

I think a car seat would be enough weight to trigger that but thats just my opinion. Also remember side airbag Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

I guess I will keep an eye on it.

BMW X1 E84 Passenger Seat Sensitivity

I cannot drive my X1 with even an iPad on the passenger seat without the seatbelt chime going off. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity so I can put my iPad or computer bag on the seat without fastening the seat belt

What does your airbag light say It should show that its de-activated if no one is there(thinking a child is sitting there)

BMW X1 E84 2014 drivers side mirror adjust problems

Got new X1 last week. My wife is short and the drivers side mirror adjust does not pan-in enough for to be comfortable to use. Does anybody else have this problem

Very dangerous if the airbag ever deploys.

BMW SERIES 6 Damn seat belt sensor

Just after Christmas the car throws a code warning about the passanger seat airbag not working and that the passanger should wear a seat belt because of this. Bring it to the dealer and was told the sensor for the airbag deployment was in the seat belt buckle. Dropped the car off and got a 2013 Burnt Orange X1 (quite the vagina-mobile). All covered under CPO After replacing one side they called me

BMW X3 E83 What are you buying next

My 2006 bmw X3 3.0i (M-sport Manual Xenons PDC Premium Pkg Cold Weather Pkg) is eight years old with 49K miles on it. So far my X3 has been painless with no meaningful maintenance issues but as the car gets older large repair bills are inevitable. I was hoping bmw would bring the X1 with a 6-spd manual but they only offer an automatic. Same with the 3-series wagon. Bummer. I have no problem paying

My 2007 X3 is at 180K Kms. It is a diesel with a manual transmission. My next car will also be a diesel with a manual. Traction and stability control laser jammer ABS and a lot of airbags are a must. 4x4AWD is a plus. Down here we do have both X1 and X3 diesels with manuals. X1 is too ugly for me. New X3 looks nice but it feels much softer than E83. So I will just keep my car for now. It looks like I might get 180K kms more out of my car. The best car I ever had. Love it.
