I have not noticed that but not sure that I would in the ordinary course. Ill try to look for it.
I havent noticed this. Do you have any bags or packages on the passenger seat that may inadvertently trigger it Sent from BimmerApp mobile app
Yes Ive seen it in my X1 as well. I thought maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me. Nothing on my seat to trigger it either... Hmmm... Sent from BimmerApp mobile app
Yes I also have the same problem mine X1 is just 12 days old I have been advised by the dealer it need a sensor replacement.
My bmw salesman just informed me that the X1 will have limited available this fall. Probably not available at all for ED. We wanted to do a European Delivery for the X1 in Sept or Oct but he indicated that the X1 will come out of their normal limited allocation so the discount will be minimal. Probably a few hundred off US MSRP. I was torn between the X1 and the 2013 328ix for ED. We will probably
Thanks all I will try again to just ignore that message and see if it doesnt pop up again. As for the airbag sticker - really I have to live with that dopey thing hanging there because of some federal law Dang Gonna make me a libertarian...Are you sure its not the case that the dealer cant remove it but the owner can Like that mattress sticker Do not remove....
When I picked up my ride in Roseville CA the dealer had removed the hanging airbag tag - leaving small little chunks of white stuff under the trim (I too ordered the brushed aluminum) - tweezers used to remove.
OH that airbag thing I thought you were referring to the light that is either on or off based on if there is a passenger. Our dealer took the tag off for us before we bought it. Id just pull it out. Im sure it will be fine.

Thank you for your reply. How did you feel about the driving height of the X1 The X3 height seemed too tall for me. I love that the 2013 X1 may have the hydraulic steering. It seems that you can not get the heads up display rear heated seats nor the knee airbags in the USA X1 but the hydraulic steering in the X1 is a real plus. The 328 I test drove was the most fun to drive. Did you get the same feeling in the X1 Thank you.

The cutting has been done a few times for SMG paddles on the E46 platform and Ive seen it done on the E9Xs too. The E9Xs are supposed to be compatible with E84. I was thinking it would be easier to get the E92 M3 but I will need a new airbag because I cross-referenced the part numbers and they are different from the E84 ones. I kind of do prefer the thick M wheels anyway. My E92 M3 steering wheel felt
Are there 2 recalls for the x1 I got my letter today and it didnt say anything about power brakes. It said its due to emissions Canada standards and something about the airbag signal coming on (which it has before and I brought it in).
Posted by HotRodW If you press and hold the stopstart button it will shut off the engine first and then the auxiliary power. No need to press the button twice. I cannot comment on the unlocking because I do not have my doors set to auto lock. Maybe holding the button will unlock the doors as well Give it a try and let us know. This is true for some older models apparently including the X1.
Got to be back seat as you cant disable airbag The legroom on side rear seat is I would say normal Worse case bring a car seat to dealer to see for yourself Sent from BimmerApp mobile app
Quote Originally Posted by bjbolduc Got to be back seat as you cant disable airbag Doesnt the front passenger airbag turn off automatically if not enough weight is put on the seat
I think a car seat would be enough weight to trigger that but thats just my opinion. Also remember side airbag Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

I guess I will keep an eye on it.
What does your airbag light say It should show that its de-activated if no one is there(thinking a child is sitting there)

Very dangerous if the airbag ever deploys.

My 2007 X3 is at 180K Kms. It is a diesel with a manual transmission. My next car will also be a diesel with a manual. Traction and stability control laser jammer ABS and a lot of airbags are a must. 4x4AWD is a plus. Down here we do have both X1 and X3 diesels with manuals. X1 is too ugly for me. New X3 looks nice but it feels much softer than E83. So I will just keep my car for now. It looks like I might get 180K kms more out of my car. The best car I ever had. Love it.
