BMW SERIES 5 E39 Seat Control Module

OK I assure everyone that I have searched through all the old info on this issue but I am still left with a drivers seat and steering column that wont adjust. It appears as though most folks find a loose connector and a broken plug shroud to be the cause of the issue. Unfortunately I found the connector to be plugged in properly and no broken plastic after removing the seat trim. As a matter of fact

Welcome Hoppers. We need a little more information. Please give us a short history in chronological order. For me one of the main questions is when did the problem with the engine not cranking over begin Was it before or after the battery problems. Also you said that you bought a new EWS module. Did you buy this from bmw If so did they make sure that it was synched to your cars specific EWS system.

BMW SERIES 5 E39 airbag module

Can someone tell me where the airbag module is located on a 1998 528i Thanks

e39 is located below the rear air vent on the center console. You access it by removing the cup holder or the little cubby hole the rear air vents themselves...and you may have to undo a few bolts to move the air duct out of the way. But youll see the air bag control unit secured to the tranny tunnel below the rear air vent. Are you sure you have to remove it Or can you just take your car to a bmw

BMW SERIES 3 E36 How to diagnose a failed SRS control module

For those that dont know me Ive had this car since 140k miles about 3 years. The entire time Ive had it it has throw an occupancy sensor code despite the fact the occupancy sensor seemed like it was working. BMW SERIES 5 E39 Erasing old keys from locking control module E39

My wifes purse got stolen today. Her wallet with her driver license plus the keys to my 2001 530i were among the items stolen. I want to replace her key with a new one from the dealer and I would like to prevent the thief that has the stolen key from being able to unlock and drive away in my vehicle. After all he now knows our address from her driver license so it would be relatively easy for him to

you get your NEW remote key...this will prevent the old key from being able to unlock the car remotely. Below are the instructions on how to reinitialize the remote keys. This is ONLY for the FZV & DWA features of the key (keyless entry & alarm siren system). The EWS transponder must be barred by the dealer using GT-1DISMoDiC equipment If need be...print this information below so that your local bmw

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Key will not turn in ignition so mechanic wants to break the steering lock

He guys I have an immobilizing issue with my 2001 bmw 530i ignition. It started when at times I would not be able to turn my key in the ignition without wiggling the key around first. This was regardless of if the steering was locked or not. After wiggling a bit the cylinder would turn normally and start the car. It became progressively worse and now I blame myself for not getting it looked at sooner.

BMW SERIES 5 E39 DSC module replaced coded steering angle sensor calib & still trifecta w error 15

I bought my car with the trifecta already lit but have documentation of the module being replaced recently which didnt solve the issue. Well I finally got a cable to try and codediagnose the DSC trifecta and spent many hours today trying to get this working all to no avail. Heres where Im at I really hope someone else may have some insight. I could read the DSC module right off the bat from INPA so

the trifecta at some point came on at the same time and stayed on all the time. This lasted for months. Plus youll see that many people have the trifecta without any other symptom other than the lack of ABS. So your problem isnt any more unique than everyone elses trifects ... so Id suggest you re-read this thread and then have the ABS control module checked out. See also - How to diagnose the bmw

Long story short they

When a bmw is built theres a finite number of keys allotted for that particular VIN (I believe the number is 10). If the EWS can not read the key or is corrupted then you will need a new key from the bmw dealer. BMW SERIES 5 E39 How to remove the general module

I need to replace a couple of the relays on the GM-III board (i.e. the general module). Notably the boot-lid soft-close motor relay and the rear-doors un-lock relay. Does anyone have any experience of the easiest way to remove the general module. I understand that it is somewhere behind the glovebox but cant find any instructions on how to actually get to it. Anyone got any ideas

The glove box does not need to be removed. If you poke your head underneath the passengers side dashboard yo will see a plastic panel forward of the glove box and about a half inch lower. On the right side of the panel there is a hole in which you can stick a couple of fingers inside and pull back on the panel. It is basically a friction fit into two white plastic pieces located at the rear of the
