BMW SERIES 3 F30 First BMW F30 Recall - Front Headrest Height

The sixth generation bmw 3 series chassis code F30 was just launched on February 11th 2012 and has gotten off to a resounding success. The media reviews of the new 3 have been extremely positive and the readers of Bimmerfest.com that have picked up their F30s have enjoyed the improvements over previous generation bmws. The launch of any new product line is of course not without issue and the F30 has

solution on new production cars. Actually a hose clamp is a simple elegant and appropriate solution. A grommet that was pressed into place can be pulled out of position by yanking on the headrest so thats no good. Drilling the post accurately would be difficult without removing it from the car at significantly greater labor expense and risk of damage to the active head restraint components. If bmw

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Comfort headrests

I have seen many posts on this subject but did not see to much conclusion. The owners manual show a 2 round buttons for the head rest but for some reason those buttons are not in the USA deliveries. Picked up my car today. I love the car but confused on this feature. Some claim they called the dealer and then bmw USA but i have not seen any follow up. With out these buttons does the headrest manual

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 headrest adjustments in the E90

Do the E90 headrests tilt like on the E46s I was at the dealer yesterday and try as I might I couldnt get the headrests to move nor could the sales guy make it happen. Sales guy had been on the job about a week so maybe he didnt know. My E46 headrests tilt pretty easily -- can be done with one hand no tricks or anything.

I feel the same way. Eerytime I consider an e90 theres a bunch of stuff that really turns me off. Though I do find the e92 to be a great looking car. The non tilting headrests are to meet government head restraint standards..I dont like them either. Agree on the A4-- interior is way too busy and the car is just not that fun. You should test drive the new GTI-- seems more bmw than recent bmws. Take

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 convertible - possible to remove rear headrests (car seat issue)

I just picked up a Graco Highback Turbobooster seat for my son. httpwww.gracobaby.comProductsPa...ductID1780483 Unfortunately the rear headrests or head restraint gets in the way and doesnt allow the back of the car seat to rest flat against the seat back of the car so it hangs up a little. It also prevents the seat back from reclining one notch which might not be super comfortable. I tried it with

To the OP. Rear headrests are NOT part of the pop up roll bars. I have had mine removed since 2007 since the headrests block the rear window visibility. I am in the process of making roll bar covers and removing the plastic covers as well. All 3 series pop up roll bars are spring loaded and it isnt uncommon to have to reset them in E36 and in fact bmw provides a tool to do just that. I still have my

BMW SERIES 5 E39 e39 2002 530i Power Headrest fix How to put it back together

My passenger side headrest was not working. I could hear the motor turning but it did not result in any motion. I looked around the forums and even at the internet at large but all of the information that I found was for different systems. This left me to de-engineer the system and figure out how it worked. It took 3-4 hours of total labor over 2 days as well as some periods of time where I just stood

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Headrest vibration

Does anyone else have an issue with their headrest vibrating It seems like no matter what road I am I cant lay may head against the headrest with out feeling a substantial vibration. Never experienced this with any other car. I sometimes look over at the empty passenger seat and see it vibrating like crazy. I know some roads are rough but this doesnt seem right. Thanks

Good luck with that. I had headrest vibration and back of my seat vibration on all kinds of roads at highway speed between 70-80 mph. I got rid of the car. bmw was not helpful here. Rebalanced replaced etc tires and rims over 4-5 times. Tried 4 different brand of tires with some improvement but the car still had vibration in my seat and headrest. It was the wrose 1 year with any car I have ever owned.

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 New 328i headrest hurts my neck

Just took delivery of my new 328i (Montego blue- wow) and all is well except one annoying thing the headrests jut far forward and press my head forward and make my neck ache. They are not adjustable as far as I can see. I wont be able to deal with this long term so Im going to have to 1) find a compatible headrest from another bmw that will fit (my 740iL had the best rests Ive ever used) and sits further

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Comfort Seat Headrests

The comforts seats that came in 20072008 550is cars manufactired in 2007 had a headrest with adjustable wing pads. Can anyone confirm that 550is with the comfort seats manufactured so far in 2008 have these same headrests Also any interior pictures of them would be great. Thanks

The headrest was not redesigned for safety-the old comfort seats have the exact same technology that the new ones have-it was simply an LCI thing to update the interior but active headrests came standard with comfort seats. What changes is now ALL bmw seats have active headrests-even regular and sport seats which did not before. Comfort seats now are identical except for new head cushion design-no change to anything else including the active part.

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 08 Comfort Seat Headrest Question

Was poking around the dealers lot last weekend and noticed the Comfort Seat headrest on two freshly delivered 550s was one large pad (like the ones on this Deep Sea blue 535i) as opposed to the smaller Star Trek Captains Chair style (as in this 545). Any idea what the benefit or reason is for this

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Oh well. FYI Rear headrests.

Just figured out one cant remove the rear headrests (easily) unless one has folddown seats. I didnt think it was worth buying because I was going to install 2 car seats and figured I would never use them (also thought the expense was ridiculous). As it turns out the carseats kinda push into them so bmw will have to deal with it when I return my car. Any ideas

Worth a thousand words. headrest as far up as it goes. Car seat secured w headrest up (as above limits visibility) headrest a bit deformed when pushed into the lowest spot. Car seat. Itll work but as I stated earlier bmw will get the car back in 3 years with a slightly indented headrest. No biggie as the car seat is definitely secure.

BMW SERIES 3 E46 2001 325Ci convertible rear headrest problem

Hi all I just bought an 01 325 covnertible this weekend and love the car. Ive never felt this way about a vehicle before. Hey guys I cant seem to adjust these headrests to properly support my neck vertically and its really pissing me off I saw a video of bmw about how the engineers spent countless hours engineering the seats. BMW SERIES 5 E39 How do you remove a front headrest

BMW SERIES 5 E39 1999 540i removal of power headrests

I have a 1999 bmw 540i that I just got seat covers for and need to know how to remove the power headrests so I can put the cover on.

Power the headrests to the fully up position make a fist and push it through the space between the headrest and seat then make a series of punching up motions with your fist. The angle of punching up from this position for some reason will easily force the headrest up and out after just a few moments--I know it seems silly and that you should be able to just pull it up but for some reason pulling up

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Have standard seats want to retrofit with comfort headrest

I realized that in the past 8 months of owning this car that I really dislike the cheap plastic feel of the headrest on my standard seats and the lack of padding on the headrest. I read on many E60s forums of similar complaints and people retrofitting their headrest with the comfort ones. Has anyone done this or considered doing this Is it difficult. I found the parts online at tischer bmw.

BMW SERIES 7 pics of headrest tvs in my 750li

Ok i had headrests tvs installed in my 750 li was a lil worried about how they would look since they are bigger than the factory headrests but the color is absolutely the exact same and i did like the final result. Each tv has its own dvd player behind the actual screen..and either screen can play either dvd just by changing the source. I so can play 2 different dvds or have each screen play the same

they look natural in the car the headrests look like they belong..they just look like normal headrests instead of the bmw headrests look....i woulndt put tvs in the visors thats kind of overdoing it plus its illegal anyway..not really gonna do any illegal mods

BMW SERIES 3 F30 Headrest will not go down

So I finally picked-up my 335i last Thursday afternoon and took it back to the dealership on Wednesday this week (6 days later). Primary reason was a misalighment of the trunk lid (below the rear quarter panel and too far forward on the drivers side). Second reason the headrest on the passenger seat would not go all the way down to touch the seat back. No problem with the drivers seat headrest. Have

I was removing the headrest to slip the seatbelt holder on (bmw accessory) and then putting the headrest back on. Of course I wasnt trying to ride without it The issue is you have to reach to far back to get the seatbelt this accessory would alleviate that issue but they would have to take the seat apart because one side of the post is attached to a yellow cable.
