BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Changing the Knob for the Headlight Switch

Just received my Euro-Headlight switch assembly. However it came with a non-blingy knob. I want to use the blingy knob currently on the car. During my search I found that quite a few people have switched the knobs but is there a secret to loosening and removing the knob I dont want to marbreak the plastic of either the switch or the knob by prying in the wrong place or with the wrong tool. Any specific guidance from those of you that have done this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Another approach is to just use the push button from the euro switch and place that one in your old switch to get the rear fog button. That way youll still have the chrome know but with the rear foglight switch Enjoy

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 LCI ac temp knobs and headlight switchknob

Does anyone know if you can get just the knobs so us pre-LCI chumps can pretend we have newer cars Im thinking like being able to pull them off and then press new ones on. I looked on RealOEM and they show the radio knobs with part numbers but all they show for the ac and headlight is the entire control unit.

My .02 I dont think you can just pull them off. Typically is most cars the canter unit is just that a unit. The unit might be sectionalized like the drivers side window controls (ie. folding mirror button conv. top stock up down window). Im envisioning the blank panel just bellow my CDDVD insert that should be for heated seats. The whole section comes out and would need to be replaced by another entire

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Thinking of switching from Audi to BMW...questions

So my father drives a 3.2 A6 and loves it the only issue is that mechanically it is a pain in the ass. Suffers from carbon build up on the valves and starting issues. Even after being serviced it still has issues. Anyways he is looking at switching vehicles and I am doing a bit of leg work for him. So my questions are 1) Do either the 535xi or the 540xi suffer from any major engine issues Carbon build

only way to know will be to try it but any comments 4) Are there any luxury packages that include heatedcooled seats And is there any version of the 5 series that has digital climate control instead of the dual knobs 5) Does the 540xi have any interior upgrades over the 335xi I think that is all for now THANKS The older N54 (up to 2010 535) has fuel pump problem that hasnt been fixed entirely bmw

BMW SERIES 5 F10 F11 Worn out buttons WTF

The button I push the most is probably the small fan button to turn off the HVAC when I start the car. Guess what the small fan icon it peeled off. During lunch I went to bmw of Beverly Hills without an appointment because this seriously pissed me off and its down the street from me. Do you think they have to A - replace the button. BMW SERIES 3 E46 Console Lock Button Dead

Bought a used 2002 325xi about two months ago. Really love it but have had a lot of problems. Luckily its under factory warranty for a little while longer. Dealer says the computer registered a fault but it was nothing serious and that it was just a glitch. Then I had a window stick in the open position and had to get the mechanical part that raises it replaced. Now the lock button on the center console wont do anything lock or unlock doors open or closed. I can lock the car with the key when Im not in it but cant do anything short of physically pushing down the knob on the door to lock it while Im in the car and then to get out I have to open the handle once to unlock and twice to open the door. Has anyone ever heard of this button going bad I can just keep taking it to the dealer while the warranty is still good but once that runs out at this rate the car will turn out to be pretty darn expensive. Is this what I have to expect for the next X years I had the lock button go...the dealer swapped the entire console unit out. but be warned that the warranty may not cover this repair...i had to pay for mine because when they pulled it out they found gunk all over the console and the wires...they said it looked like the previous owner has spilled soda or something and it gunked everything up...i think it was about 250 to replace....as far as paying for things out of warranty...i would recommend purchasing the bmw factory extension warranty....as long as your first warranty is valid you can extend it...

BMW SERIES 5 E39 headlights and Foglights knob

Has anyone ever replaced their headlight or foglight knobs on the dash Do need to remove the dash Can you pull the knobs off Im just waiting for my 14 year old plastic tabs to break if I force a part the wrong way. Thanks

The speedometer trim is seperate from the knobs. You can see people selling knobless speedometer trim on ebay. You can get them in good condition with the knobs for about 55 or each knob is about 15 shipped with no speedo trim. My headlight switch came with a bunch of small divots -- I presume the PO who let his wife drive the car for a few years before he sold it caused them from her fake nails.

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Just switched run-flats for regular tires...BMW do you even have a clue

The ride is a world of difference. Run-flats ride like & and they bend the stock rims. Other than driving over a nail in the heart of the ghetto I cannot see the benefit to having these things. And its not that Im looking for a cushyLexus-esque ride I want something smooth and solid. The new (Toyo) tires provide that the suspension provides adequate firmness for handling. Im still not a fan of this car but the tire swap has earned it a few extra points from my perspective.

I figured there couldnt be much difference in fact I was expecting the ultimate driving machine would wow me. Based on my experience this car corners horribly slips too much on rainsnow for AWD and have faced the fact that X-Drive is really only good for getting you out of a snowed-in parallel parking space. BMW SERIES 3 E30 defrost switch.

I am trying to replace the defrost switch on my 90 convertible. I cant figure out how to take the trim around the controls off without breaking it. I am assuming there are some screws that screw in from behind the control panel

Well the defrost switch was actually as easy as you guys were saying. Looking at it originally I didnt realize that the whole switch just pops out like a puzzle piece. BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Euro Headlight Switch

Hi My car has the Fog Lights and the Rain Sensor but NO Xenon Headlights. I have not been able to find the Euro Headlight switch that will work for this combination. All the switches I have seen require Xenon Headlights which I do not have. Does anybody know which part number works for my car and if it is available I want to be able to use the Rear Fog Lights. Thanks

If it doesnt match or doesnt work you can bastardize this switch and use the parts from it on your switch if necessary.

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Who loves the moreless cool air on upper body knob

If this thing does what I think it does I think this is a brilliant idea that more automakers need to adopt. I remember this feature WAY back in a 1989 Honda Accord my family used to have. You could have warm head blasting your feet and rising up slowly while cool (or at least not hot) air could come from the upper vents. This prevents you from having dry eyes feeling sleepy or overall too hot etc.

turn on the snowflake but the car will mix a large portion of the air that comes in through the vents with just outside air and use the cold air from the condensor to fine tune the temperature the compressor however is working the same as if you put the temp at the lowest setting. So either fully utilize the compressor when its on or dont use it to prolong the life of your compressor. Late model bmws

Common problem Im afraid. One or both of the mounting tabs on the switch are broken off. I had the exact same problem. (I assume you mean the central lock switch and the hazard switch w red triangle.) 1. Remove your shift boot cover (the vinyl boot). It has a plastic ring around the perimeter. Gently pry it out of place and pull it up. No need to remove the shift knob. 2. Unscrew the rear screws. 3.

BMW SERIES 3 E46 Automatic climate control

Im not clear from reading the manual about the AC and the climate control. Does the AC kick in automatically to lower the temperature or do I have to set it manually. I have the automatic climate control so I assume the AC would be initiated to maintain the desired temperature.

light is still on the compressor is not used. In more moderate temps you can press the AC switch to turn it off (i.e. vent function)and retain all other auto functions such as air distribution and volume. You can go to full manual by pressing any of the 3 distribution buttons (floor dash windshield) and control fan speed separately. This gives the best of all worlds. So my conclusion is that the bmw

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 M45 vs 550

I know starting this discussion on this forum is asking for it but I am genuinely curious. Have any of you considered the new M45 I have and 2007 ED 550i on order (delivery end of May). However I got really annoyed with the dealer screwing around with me on some details of the deal. I got pissed and started thinking about non-bmw alternatives. I had a look at M45. Bland exterior but I like the interior

want to pay for it . . . So whats left that has people thinking the M45 is better than the E60. Interior . . .perhaps but the Exterior is simply derivative of other designs namely the G35. The fact that the CD changer is in the glovebox in the E60. . . .boo hoo. Not that big of a deal either. Price. Well I agree that the E60 is slightly overpriced. Truth be told Ive always thought that with any bmw

BMW SERIES 3 F30 4-series - some interior materials downgraded

Hi all I attended a launch party for the 4-series x5 and 328gt this past weekend held by Ottos bmw. Nice event really done up right. I think I made 50 back from Ottos on the amount of liquor and food I consumed Anyway the 4-series is a stunning car on the outside. In exchange theyve introduced that silver painted plastic all over the place (on the Msport wheel atleast but also on the base no line trim) and it sounds like some parts bendcreak when pressed now. Atlast the e90 was failry solid if you poked and prodded around. Im not sure whether bmw
