BMW SERIES 5 E39 Headlight Adjustment Stepper Motor calibration

Is there a way to calibrate the Headlight Adjustment stepper motors They are found with this feature LWR All 1999 model year systems are also equipped with LWR (Headlight Beam Throw Control). This system automatically adjusts the vertical position of the headlight beams to compensate for vehicle loads ensuring optimum beam throw. LWR components and func- tion is described further on in this section.

The connector for the stepper motor on the back of the light is plugged in all the way right Make sure there are no bentbroken pins in it. Calibration is done by the bmw shop computer but you should check the back of the light that is not working properly. Grip the big rubber boot on the back side of the low beam with 2 fingers and see if it will easily move up and down more than 18. Be very careful

JimLev The manual adjusters in photo 2 were replaced with upgraded aluminium parts. Photos 3 and 4 are the items of interest. Im wondering if parts 6 7 and 13 on RealOEM can be adjusted to cause the stepper motors to seat where the motors project the beams higher. If so then I can simply use the manual adjustments on the headlight capsules to more properly align them. As it is right now the lights

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Xenon Stepper Motor problem

i have a problem with my LH headlight on a 2009 330D. The xenon part is pointing skywards and after investigation I can see that the adjuster has become disconnected. It appears to be a ball and socket arrangement and the two have come apart. I can see from the access panel at the top that the ball is on an arm that moves in and out this still works as I can see it move back and forwards when someone

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Motor noise from behind the dash...

Recently I have been hearing a noise from behind my dash...motor-like noise. At first I thought it sounded like the steering wheel motor when it goes up and down or when it pulls front and push back...but its not. Then I thought it might be the windshield washer fluid...but its not. What else can it be I dont know if my problems are related to what I have done recently...but just going to list it in

I hear a short .5 second small motor noise just to the left of my steering wheel when I start up on a cold morning dont hear it on warmer mornings (above 40) and never hear it when I start the car later in the day after work even though it has been 8 hours and the car is cold... wonder if this is one of the little stepper motors doing its thing.

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Need procedure to reinstall vanos motor

Hello I need the steps to reinstall the vanos stepper motor in my 2006 525xi. Does anyone know exactly how to index the motor for proper operation

Not sure on a I-6. For my 545i I had disconnected the battery removed the 4 torx bolts from the stepper motor and the spring action put about 14 inch measurement between the stepper motor plate and valvle cover. I just pulled it straight out. When going back in I placed the stepper motor gear shaft back in and turned clockwise until I had that same 14 measurement then I tightened the 4 torq bolts.

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Replacing the final stage unitblower motor resistor (E39)

Does your AC-heater blower seem like its possessed Does it quit working for no apparent reason then come on again just as mysteriously Does it run only at one speed no matter what the controls say Does it keep running even when the car is off and the key is out of the ignition Your problem is most likely a faulty final stage unit. Based on what Ive seen here and elsewhere this is a chronic problem

Just replaced the Final Stage Resistor in my 2001 330 yesterday. Its quite a bit more difficult to get to this part in this version car. In my case after removing the glove box I had to remove the right footwell air vent. Behind the vent is a stepper motor that also needs to be removed not too bad here just a linkage and couple screws. There are two screws on the resistor also and theyre the same torx

BMW SERIES 3 E46 Fan motor keeps running

I have a 2001 325i and today when i turned it off the fan for the heat kept running it has done this before but not for this long it ran for about 3 hours today after i shut it off. Im just worried my battery is going to be dead one day. Any suggestions on what could be causing this And should I even worry

This morning I tackled the FSR replacement job using Docremus Thread as my 325i is RHD too. All went well but I had screws holding the FSR in place as well as the clip. It is the top FSR one that took the time and frustration. Fitted the BSPX prongless FSR I bought in December and only replaced the lower torx screws in both the FSR and stepper motor. My stepper motor was clipped into the plastic above

Does someone know how to locate the motor that controls the defrost flap or how I can manually force the flap open Much appreciate any help. Thanks Michael WebsterNY 06 530XI 99 323 83 911SC

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 AC problem wont go away

A little over 3 months ago I bought my first bmw. The car is a CPO 06 330i and was rather difficult to find in that it is a manual tranny had most of the options I was looking for and the price was right. Driving this thing is nothing short of awesome. It also happens to be a launch supply vehicle and had a rather early in-service date for its year. I ignored that fact since the car was still well

the neccessary test plans as outlined on the tester including chcking the wires from the module to the stepper motor (electronic motor that turns a flap depending on the input) and completes the tests required. If the tests were inconclusive and everything checks out okayall resources are checked (bullettins) and shop foreman or team leader was consulted.A PuMA case is then submitted and the bmw

Going by what faults you have by scanning for faults would show a shorted stepper motor or mixing flap
