BMW SERIES 5 E39 New afe intake software and ignition system

well i just finished installing an afe intake and bavarian autosport ignition system. I then had my dinan software upgraded to stage 2. Theres a noticeable differance especially with throttle response in higher gears. i went with the afe because it looks nicer than dinans. my next project will be to install my dinan suspension

I always buy performance parts on how they look also. As long as they are pretty they must be great

Where did you buy your goodies Wish you did a g-tech pro b4 and after so you could have given some s but thanks anyway. I see g-techs are now available through Iphone.

Dinan suspension rides harder than OEM sport springs and it barely lowers the car. I helped a friend install his set and he was disappointed with ride and the ride ht.

BMW SERIES 3 E30 Has anyone put an ignition system in

I looked around for an ignition system for my 89 325i... Does anyone have one installed If so what kind

Some people use an MSD coil I dont recall the specific model. Honestly an aftermarket ignition wont do much for your car unless you get into some serious mods. A properly functioning stock system is all you need. If youre looking for performance a good computer chip will do more for your car than anything else for the price. The downside is that you will need premium fuel.

i did new cap rotor 8 mm wires accel supercoil and was going to get a chip

I seen MSD coils but i was wondering if anyone had a complete set up...

i was goin to do it with a msd 6 box but i didnt want to screw something up. so im goin down to like the msd 2 or 3 or something that is ran on cars with carbs

BMW SERIES 3 E30 Can someone explain the ignition switch-over system

Ive got an 85 325e and Im curious as to how the igniton switch-over system works. Most importantly what is its function how does it perform this function what are the symptoms if the system isnt working properly how can I check the system without using a special bmw tester Now that I look closer at the manual does my car even have this system

If yours is the first year production then probably have a few issues on quality. But wouldnt able to start is NOT a normal thing to happen at all. Dont let the dealer tell you nonsenses. Either your key is the problem or the brain of the car. Remember a while ago the Thai Finanical Minsiter was locked inside his bmw 7 series because the computer broke down the nothing in the car would work. They had to break the window to free him from being toasted in the heat of Bangkok.

BMW SERIES 3 E36 Ignition System Problem.. Need help.

Hello everyone Im currently stranded with my 93 325is. What seems to happen is when I insert the key and turn it clockwise I dont get any ignition. However when I turn all the way up until the stopping point the accessory switch turns on. Moreover the key seems to feel loose inside the cylinder. My steering wheel is currently locked too. I have heard of the spinning key problem but mine does not spin 360 degrees. it just stops where ignition should be. Please help needed. Thanks

Im having the same problems but for me it wasnt the ignition tumbler its the ignition lock housing Part number W0133-1662302 Sometghing inside housing broje and it wont turn the ignition switch so the wont turn on but its still giving it power Sent from my PC36100 using Bimmer App

BMW SERIES 5 E34 Starter keeps breaking. I think its the ignition that causes it.

My wife started the car and then let go so the key went back to the run or on position (between off and crank positions). But the car kept starting making an awful noise so she went to turn it off and the noise stopped but the car kept running. So she removed the key and the car kept running. So after she started the car the car thought the ignition was in the crank position when it was in the middle

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Proper way to drain the I6 E39 cooling system (M54) using the engine drain plug

I read these DIYs for cooling system overhauls yet am confused about how to properly drain the cooling system in the M54 I6 E39 engine. Specifically how to drain the engine block itself. Before you drain the radiator itself ... 1. The Pelican DIY under Changing the Coolant in Your bmw admittedly for the 3-series says to Place the heater control knobs all the way on hot turn the ignition to the on

BMW SERIES 5 E34 94 540i. Removing The Ignition Lock Housing.

BMW SERIES 5 E39 Central Locking System and Remote keys inop

I know there are about 100 other posts regarding this same problem but I cant seem to fix or come up with a solution on my own. I have a 2002 525I Sedan E39 that I recently replaced my battery and alternator. Upon replacement my remote key will not unlocklock the vehicle and the center console lockunlock button no longer works The trunk valet feature still works on one of my 2 remotes. I have to get

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 new owner w aftermarket sound system help required. (searched first)

Sup guys I have been a hondaacura owner for the past ten years. I had an account over at honda tech and recently moved up to bmw. I have done lots of researching and things about it and love the car and the new family and the respect that goes along with it but I have a question about my sound system im having problems with it. I have a 2010 323i 4 door bmw white on black. it is the BASE model. No

very much like the cause of your problem. The yellow battery lead you chose in the OEM harness is probably losing power when the car goes to sleep. If you spliced the constant-power lead into the Alpine head unit to a supply that is not always hot the capacitors in the settings memory will drain out in a few hours after the power cuts off and everything will reset. Hooked it up to a computer and it shows NO CODES Wanting to know how to prove the ignition switch is good. Waisted too much money on this thing with no outcome Please help

Welcome Hoppers. We need a little more information. Please give us a short history in chronological order. For me one of the main questions is when did the problem with the engine not cranking over begin Was it before or after the battery problems. Also you said that you bought a new EWS module. Did you buy this from bmw If so did they make sure that it was synched to your cars specific EWS system.

BMW SERIES 3 E36 Stumper - Ignition immobilized

All - Im a newbie to the site and to bmw. I have had my 95 525 Wagon 1.5 years. Its been great until last week when the alarm (in the form of my hazards flashing only) went off when my passenger side door was opened (door wasnt locked) and it seemed to both immobilize my ignition - but simultaneously the power locks stopped working. My mechanic has changed the battery reset the alarm checked all of

It was coincidental. The locking mechanism that is preventing you from turning the key all the way is strictly mechanical. So say for example that your cars electrical system goes on the fritz that would not affect the ignition lock in any way. I also have a 95 525i at the moment and as far as I can tell the tumbler and steering wheel locking mechanism works in exactly the same manner as the E36 3-series bmws.

BMW SERIES 3 E46 Car not starting ignition switch starter

First and formost my advise is DO NOT JUMP START your battery. The mechanic advised me that I was wrong to jump start my vehicle at the terminals located in the engine compartment. I was advised that bmws

BMW SERIES 5 E39 DIY Bleeding the E39 Cooling System

THIS PROCEDURE APPEARS TO BE APPLICABLE TO ALL E39 MODELS AND ENGINE CONFIGURATIONS Here is a complete DIY for Bleeding the E39 cooling system using the proper bmwBentley Procedure. This procedure is based on the following bmw TIS documents TIS 17 00 Instructions for working on cooling system httptis.spaghetticoder.orgsview.pl1043564 TIS 17 00 005 Draining and topping up coolant httptis.spaghetticoder.orgsview.pl1022614

As best as I can work out the pulsing coolant coming from the bleeder screws is because the aux electric water pump is running and when any trapped air reaches the aux pump it causes the pulsing. The aux pump is the only thing operating during the bmw bleeding process. The heater valves are fully open and not pulsing open and closed. If you turn off the ignition and thus turn off the aux pump the pulsing
