AUDI TT finally have to replace exhaust

I had planned on doing this months ago but ended up in the hospital with a viral infection. On the day I got out I left the hospital and started the car and noticed the exhaust sound was now coming from the front of the car. After some diagnosis it appears that the downpipe has finally given up and I am going to replace the whole exhaust. I just wanted to know what to expect when dealing with the bolts

Is it a 225hp If it is a 225hp you have to drop the entire subframe to get the downpipe out. If it is not a 225hp you have it a LOT easier. The downpipe takes allen heads to remove from the turbo manifold. If you have the 225 let me know if you have any questions because I replaced mine 4 months ago.

Hi. I discovered that the gasket between my exhaust manifold and Turbo had blown so removed the old one and replaced only to find that it still blew with the new one in place. I removed the 3 bolts again to check re-seat the gasket and one of the bolts sheared off Because of the shape of the left over bolt i dont want to drill it incase of further damage. How do i remove the turbo unit manifold to get to the bolt remnants

my car has been boosting weird lately it will boost about 9-10 psi then on the next pull boost 12psi then yesterday it spiked to 15 then i let off it still pulls fine n idles normal but if im cruising at 2800 rpm on the interstate n step on it without downshifting (jst to pass a truck or someone etc...) it would spool right up to 10-12 psi now sometimes it wont go past 5 or itll spool rly slow recently

while Im here occassionally I smell burnt oil after driving. Im using less than a quart in 1k miles and I have over 190k miles on the car. Any guesses as to where this oil odor is coming from 2001 tt quattro coupe.

I would first guess that you have a leak in your pcv system. 190k I imagine you have some blowby going on which would make for a little more pcv activity and the pcv valve likes to get gummed up anyhow and I know mine was plugged and the pcv system was garbage. Hey i sure this has been discussed many times but how many o2 sensors does the 1.8T engine have From what I have gathered since it only has 1 bank of cylinders it has 2 sensors 1 pre and 1 post cat. Let me know is that is incorrect. i have pulled a 17521 code which I think is the pre-cat sensor if you could confirm or deny this I would really appreciate it. the CEL light is not on but the code is looming.

correct sensor for your engine code. The universals work just fine they are the same thing as the specific ones just dont have the connector. Its a good way to save 50. You dont have to change both only reason i see doing both is since you are in there... but i dont usually replace whats not broken and not a hassle to replace. Purchased an audi TT 225 K04 turbo for my 2004 audi A4 1.8T 6 speed quatro. Wondering what exhaust manifold and other goods i need to install this turbo. have audi TT diverter valve and 225 injectors and 225 MAF but having problem with tuning what we suspect the current turbo we have is a K03K04 turbo although we were told it was an exact bolt in K04 audi TT225 swap.
