AUDI A6 Airbag Light Still on after Airbag Control Module was Replaced

I have just finished completing the replacement of my Airbag control module with a brand new one from the dealership (755) to rid myself from the infamous 65535 - Internal Control module Memory Error. AUDI A6 Audi A6 wont start

I own a 1999 audi A6 Quattro. The other day I went to start it up and all I could hear was the starter trying to start the car . All of the lights and electronics work when I turn the key on but when I turn the key it trys to start but never does . It has about 85000 miles on it so I was wondering if there was something I needed to replace that usually goes bad about now that is preventing it from starting Thanks G

first off if your CEL is on you absolutely have a DTC. Unfortunatley generic scanners can not read all of the audiVAG codes you need a VAG-COM to read all of the codes. There is a list on here of members who have them. You could purchase a cheap one on ebay and just ask how to set it up. Quite a few guys have them for about 30 bucks. Or you can buy one from ross-tech.com for 200. I have the ross tech

hi im new here my problem starting my 2005 audi A6. Im putting a key to the ignition but nothing is happening no engine check no usual activity. Otherwise everything works fine MMI system lights seats memory

What do you mean by wheels locked The wheels should lock in Park... As far as the car not starting theres no cranking at all Possible issues in your cases could include - Faulty ignition switch (-es go bad on these cars more than others). - Bad ignition Control module - Dead Starter

I have the same problem and the audi dealer has quoted me the following 1. Power assist steering remove replace at 4.5hrs 365.65 2. Wheel Alignment 33.80 3. Steering Column Lock module 966.50 4. ignition switch 372.32 Total 1981.76 after tax. My question is why do they want to change both the module and switch. Do they really know if its the switch of the module. I cant believe both are faulty. Can someone help me make sense of this.

AUDI A6 C5 2000 a6 2.7t Plugs and Coil Packs

Hey everyone Im hoping I can get some help here since Im new to audis. I have a 2000 a6 2.7t and I am experiencing sputtering at low rpms. I have misfire codes for cylinders 1 4 and 5. The code is P0300 designated to those specific cylinders. I purchased spark plugs and coil packs from autopartswarehouse and installed them. The sputtering did not go away. I took it to a local shop that specializes

the problem you are having is the ignition control module on top of the airbox. there is two of them and it will be the one closest to the front of the car.

Well the car does not hesitate to start at all and it has never not started for me. It is the sputtering at low rpms that is the issue. Ive gotten suggestions that it is the spark plugs ignition coils but not the ignition module at all. Just curious why you think it may be that. Thanks.

J Walters thanks so much. That was exactly the problem and it was fixed right away. I went through so much BS and the auto shop gave me an estimate of 1600.00 without even mentioning the ignition modules so I am pretty happy right now Magiben thanks also for your input. You guys are the best on here. I am not sure if we are allowed to say where we got parts from so PM for cheap and working audi parts. The modules wouldve cost me roughly 200.00 each and I got them for 80.00 each

AUDI A6 C4 Stumped on rough 2.7t engine - not coils or ICM I think

Hi all Im a long time reader first time poster. These forums have helped me so many times with my 2000 A6 2.7T 6MT and I first wanted to say that I appreciate all your help Im stumped on a rough engine. Important to note this car has only 46000 miles. One issue is that the Bentley manual and many comments in the forum mention the ignition control modules (ICM) on top of the airbox but I do not have these at all. Could there be later and earlier

AUDI A6 C7 How much time do i have left A6 4-5 slipping...

How much time do i have left A6 4-5 slipping... Under medium acceleration 4-5 slips so bad that the engine rpm will continue to climb yet there is no tranny gear engagement. (Im a street guy only) I took off TM 100% on my stock A6 (20000 miles on it when i did it 10000 since the Centri was installed) The shifts are so tight & hard you wont believe it. So much more fun. You can also set TM at a %. Since I re-calibrated the tranny it started to decline though. So keep that in mind-) I also have 34518 MTs. With TM on & the shift pressure up the shifts still sucked. but by

AUDI A6 C5 04 Audi a6 Random Misfire

I recently changed my alternator battery spark plugs & coils. All brand new and oem. I even got a vacuum leak and compression test. And both test has passed. I or my friends and euro performance in Clifton NJ cant seem to figure it out. Can anyone help us out or give us any other ideas to approach this task. It is an 04 audi a6 2.7t s-line. P.S. it doesnt have an icm because it is a BEL engine to get that out the way.

Did you pull any codes Sometimes radom missfire code p0300 shows up with P0301 - P0306 indicating which cylinder is misfiring. If 301-303 show up then bank 1 cylinders are the problem 304-306 bank 2. Since you did plugs & coils its possible that ignition control module for either bank 1 or bank 2 is bad. Pull codes.

There is no ignition control module on bel engines which is engines from 2003 and up. Push down coils have them integrated into each one of them. The firing order is ran by the ecu and the icm is integrated into the coils. I think i have a short to the grounds of the coil wires. Becuase the only wire that all meets up into to one wire from the coils is the ground. Any comments

AUDI A6 C5 2003 Audi A6 2.7T Rough Idle

Hey fellow audi enthusiasts I have an 2003 audi A6 2.7T that just recently started to have a rough idle. Of course the check engine light came on and is now intermittently blinking when the idle gets rough. I have pulled the check engine codes and check out this monster list P0171 System is too lean - bank 1 P0130 generic O2 circuit - bank 1 sensor 1 P0492 generic secondary air injection system - bank

Misfires on 1-2-3 (Bank 1) are likely caused by a bad ignition Control module (ICM) for that bank. There are 2 ICM mounted on top of the airbox (bank1 & bank2). The misfires are likely triggering the O2 codes on bank 1 but they might be unrelated. Id suggest you check the plugs on bank 1 just to be sure they all arent drowning in oil due to a valve cover leak. If the cavities look clean then swap the

im lost any help would be app.. p1338 code only running on 3 cyclinders has 10v and 5 volt ref...fuel pressure is gd. installed new sensor and no change still running on 3 will barley run but if i pull inlets off from turbo will rev up alittle better still dont think tey have any thing to do with running on 3 cycylndersremoved Timming covers and engine is in time...where should i look or do

With entire bank 1 (cyl 1-2-3) not firing I would suspect ignition Control module (ICM) mounted on top of air filter box. There are 2 one for bank 1 & other for bank 2. They are the same part so you can switch them. If misfires are then on bank 2 (4-5-6) you need new ICM. Other possiblity is bad Cam position sensor on Bank 1 as that can also drive misfires on all bank 1 cylinders. Both parts are relatively easy to get to & are not too expensive.

AUDI A6 C5 04 audi a6 2.7t rough idle

I have recently cleaned my throttle becuase the idle was running a little off. i reset the idle using vag-com and it works after a few miles but then goes back to a really bad idle. it feels like the car is about to shut-off. I also tried raising the idle to 1000rpm instead of the stock 850rpm but i keep getting an error. i cant even raise it a little. i also keep getting random missfire codes after

AUDI A6 2002 A6 3.0 Quattro only 40 days old misfiring

AUDI A6 P0300 Random misfire

After replacing all O2 sensors and plugs my fault code has now changed to a p0300. Car is a 2000 A6 Avant Quattro 2.8L. Car idles super rough and has no at all upon acceleration until over 2500 RPM. Engine light is on and will flash at idle but usually turns solid when driving. Is this a possible head gasket issue Or maybe Coil Pack Im not savy on troubleshooting problems but i can usually replace the part that needs to be done. Any ideas where to start on fixing this

I think what 02A6Beau is getting at is to try testing or replacing your ignition control modules. Your car has two of them but it has a single ignition coil on each of the six cylinders.

AUDI A6 Audi A4 3.0 Misfire

Hi guys new to the forum so apologies if this has been asked before. I have an 02 A4 B6 Avant 3.0 ASN which is throwing misfire code (cyl 5) the first time it goes through 2000rpm on a low load if i drive hard through the rev range no issues. The car misses but only for a second and eml blinks up. No other loss of power juddering or any other signs of the misfire and only the first time it goes through

Consider swapping your ignition control module with the ICM from the other bank and see if the misfire issue follows the ICM or if it stays there. The ICMs are known to cause weird misfire issues as our cars age.

Did you regap the plugs to .028 When you say multiple cylinder misfire which ones are misfiring The missing air box clips wont cause your trouble - any air seeping in through the box lid still goes through the MAF and is measured. You can get some MAF cleaner and do that as peace of mind but it probably wont be a fix. The cat warmup is also unlikely to be related - in all likelihood thats a failing
