AUDI A5 8T 8F Suspension Squeaks

I have a 2009 A5 S-Line. I had the lower control arms replaced and the upgraded bushings replaced back in 2010 by audi Dlr. Now I have an annoying squeaking sound from suspension or steering (bushings I think) that make the car sound like a jalopy when Im going slow or turning into my driveway. I took it to the dealer and they are telling me that it probably needs to be lubricated. Has anyone heard

they replace both of the lower rear control arm bushings ( one for each side of your front suspension) and i misunderstood why your lower control arms were replaced... i thought you were saying that they replaced them for the lower bushings.. ( those last about 80k-100k miles. but yes those lower ball joints do go bad between 30k-35k ( normally due to harsh driving condition aka you driving your audi

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 BMW 335ix Coupe vs. Audi A5

Since BMW North America has decided that I cant buy the Sport seats and a heated steering wheel together (the Sport Package is going away the only way to get Sport seats is to buy the M Sport Package and that precludes the heated steering wheel) Ive decided to look at other options. One that caught my eye is the audi A5. Has anyone here looked at it given it a test drive How does it compare--both pluses and minuses--to the BMW 335ix Coupe

When I was shopping for a car last year I tested out A4 S4 and S5. I didnt test out A5 but Ill share my impression New audi cars have needlessly complicated electronics. And I love tech toys in cars... The nav system is not as intuitive as BMWs. Too many buttons are required to navigate through the screen. And fan speed and seat heaters have to be adjusted using nav screen. For example when you turn

BMW SERIES 3 F30 4 Series Spied with Less Camo Taking a Break Next to an Audi A5

BMW is letting some of the camo go from the upcoming 4 Series and we were able to get a peek at what is underneath while this 435i sat next to a audi A5. We have seen the Concept Coupe and have all been wondering what will make it through to the production models this July -- based on these photos it looks to be missing a lot of the more extreme treatments that the concept had. While a good number

I like this. Normal front and rear fascia not Bondesque frills from a concept that need to hide a machine gun. This is pretty obviously X-drive and it still sits where standard F30 sits so 20 mm lower for standard coupe suspension is going to look really really good. Yes during my ED in a brand new E92 the only cars around that were catching my attention were A5s. That car looks awesome. Give credit where credit is deserved.

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 2009 A4A5 vs. e90e92 328335i -- looks good.

Looks like audi has gone the right way and finally placed the engine and trans. further behind the front axle one of the reasons many bmw owners did not consider audi. Its now official the A4S4 will be on the same platform as the A5S5 and it looks good and will be good competition for BMW. Also the quattro is now 6040 split similar to BMWs which will make the drive more rear wheel based much more enjoyable

This makes the steering feel quicker but leads to more bodyroll as the suspension travel must be greater to get

When you drive it in the dynamic mode the steering rivals the BMW IMO. In the standard drive mode the steering does feel a bit loose until you get it up to like 35-40 MPH. I think

Well I picked up yesterday and its a lot better than I imagined i will write more later on but here are some pics for you all

Andy - I got BlackAlcantara combination and its very comfortable I am just surprised at the differences from standard spec Q7 to Q5. the ride is a bit harder than I expected but seats are better than the Q7 what I like MMI 3D view - excellent and sat nav with everything on the maps... 10GB Jukebox - easy to transfer the music to the hard drive even the wife can do it The Key (just like A5) you plug

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 To current 335i coupe drivers... need opinion

This is a question to only those who currently drive a 335i coupe Do you have any regrets getting a BMW instead of G37 If so what are they Im looking for an honest opinions... of course I udnerstand that some people will defend their purchase decision - even though they might feel different inside. And this is a BMW forum. Here is my background. Im about to turn 29 years old... single (no wife or kids).

over the years including Nissans (Zs and Maximas) VWs Mazda Rx-7s Volvos Mercedes Porsches and even an MG. I have driven G35s both coupe and sedan form. I even did the BMW sponsored driving event not long ago where they compared the 335 coupe to the G35 coupe. I have not driven the G37 and dont car for its looks. I have also not driven the A5 but I do like its looks. Although Ive never owned an audi

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 October ED bummer....

Looks like my planned October 26th ED is gone the way of the dodo... My CA has advised me he cant get a date until Late November even though Ive set this up for an October deliever back on the 19th of March. Youd think being that early would warrent being able to get an October delievery. Late November doesnt work for me for several reason 1. Thanksgiving 2. December weekend obligations 3. Have to

is a 3 or 4 or 5 point turn) volvo blew through its warranty budget on the S60 series and began pushing back on warranty repairs until cars were out of warranty. After reading this Im not surprised Volvo decided a couple months ago that theyll stop building R models as the demand has been less than desirable.... Too bad the S60-R looked good in a parking spot. To the OP I currently still own an audi

MERCEDES BENZ CL First Benz - CL55 AMG

Just purchased a beautiful 03 CL55 AMG. Silver on black interior. I would like to upgrade the wheels to the staggard 19 CL65 AMG wheels. Ive tried to look on ebay for a few options but obviously will only buy OEM. Im sure there a many that have done this and just need a little input as to what to expect suspension height problems any rubbing etc. Other than that Im happy to enter the Benz world. Any suggestions with the car is appreciated.

36mm rear. Can 10mm spacers be used in order to get the wheels in the factory spec range or would doing this in turn lose some integrity from the wheel to hub Also lug bolts may need to be longer. As far as the tires go since the aftermarket wheels seem to be all 8.5 and 9.5 I probably will do a larger set 255 (F) and 275 (R). As for being a MB purist i do carry that mindset somewhat. I own an audi

BMW SERIES 5 E60 E61 Checking the Competition

The lease on my 550 is up in April and Ive started thinking about its replacement. The E60 has been the single best car I have EVER had - outside of some sensor failures it has been dead nuts reliable and is as solid and as much fun to drive today as the day I took delivery. Still Im having a hard time getting psyched about another E60 with the F10 around the corner. (Yes I like the LCI facelift -

showroom I found myself thinking this is it - I am in LOVE with this thing. Then the test drive. My God what a disappointment The ride and handling were like a Camry. I have had GM rental cars that were 100 times more fun to drive. Shortest test drive Ive ever taken - within 10 minutes I had the car back at the dealership. The dealer said Yeah we dont have many BMW owners switch to Jaguar. YMMV. audi

Hi all I do not own a BMW but am in the market for one. I have long been debating between BMW 3 series or audi A5 and I think I have made up my mind. Now Im looking for a BMW to buy in the next 3 months tops. The deal I found is from this guy who is going through some financial hardships and is looking to cut down on expeneses. The car is garaged kept mint conditions and has 43k miles on it. Never

TESLA ROADSTER Another Options Question

I am trying to zero in on a Tesla for the Boston area. We do around town driving mostly in the suburbs a 16 mile commute and occasional trips to NYC VermontNHMaine and a bunch of trips to Marthas Vineyard in the springfallsummer. Probably 11K miles per year. Our other cars have been audi (A5) and BMW (X3 3 series). So we are more looking for a luxury car than a sports car but typically havent gone

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Turning circle of 3 series cars

I was doing some research and I noticed that 3 series cars dont really have tight turning circles despite its compact size. Arent sporty cars supposed to have tight turning radius Or is it the opposite Im sure BMW engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the car. Im no car expert so I was just wondering how this benefits driving dynamics and sporty ride (or maybe how sporty suspension

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 2008 335i Coupe Questions

I am planning on ordering a 2008 335i Coupe for ED next year. I enjoy spirited driving but like a supple comfortable ride. Does ordering the Sport option make the ride too harsh (subjective - I know) for daily driving Im currently driving a 2004 Acura TSX that I think has a terrific blend of handling and comfort. Does ordering the Sport option make the ride too harsh (subjective - I know) for daily driving Im currently driving a 2004 Acura TSX that I think has a terrific blend of handling and comfort. Also I believe that ordering the Sport option requires the performance tires with a lower profile (accompanied by BMWs warning of possible suspension tire damage from bad roads). Again this would seem to enhance the handling but at what cost to comfort Im never taking the car to a track and I dont like speeding tickets so I really think a more comfortable ride would appeal more to me than a slightly higher skid pad score. I was looking at the 650i Coupe and the Sport option deleted the brightwork around the windows. On the 335i does the chrome stay with the Sport option Is the Jet Black color the blackest color offered. Im assuming the Black Sapphire Metallic decreases the color vibrancy. Ill get to the dealer and try to do some comparison myself but I would welcome any comments. Ive got my eyes on the following car 2208 335i Coupe Jet Black Black Dakota Leather w Aluminum Trim STEPTRONIC Auto Trans Premium Pkg Comfort Access Active Cruise Control Nav Heated Front Seats rear Sunshade iPodUSB Adapter Park Distance Not adding to the car Active Steering Sport Option (would love the paddle shifters as a separate option but not available) Please let me know what you think. Thanks. You cant order the coupe without the sport suspension its standard. Sounds to me like you would be happier with the vert(e93) which is less perfornance oriented and comes without the stiffer suspension. IF thats too much money an audi A5 or lexus IS350 would be softer suspended.

BMW SERIES 3 E90 E91 E92 E93 Hey Snowbelters Some XI Feed-back please

Howdy Am up in MN and looking at a 335 for my next car (maybe S5).Ive had my share of RWDs with snow tires and was ok with them. All 3 of my previous bimmers had them (328 E39 540 and E46 M3 Cab. If I go 335 am still un-sure of xi or rwd...For those of you in the snow-belt and own either the RWD or XI versions whats been your experiences Do the new xis have much more of a wheel-gap vs the rwd I know

I may have went with the RWD version if they offered a limited slip rear end but they dont. With 2 wheels driving you DO get more traction. Got the XI as they do the worst job of plowing the neighborhoods in Minneapolis and I dont like to be stuck at home. I dont notice that the car is clunky or bad to drive it does however hook up much better from a standing start. I would still get snow tires regardless. The main reason is that stopping is an unbelieveable difference from winters to all seasonssummers. Dont let people kid you about soft suspension. The car still rides fairly rough and goes around the fast corners just fine. There is a bit more gap in the wheelwell if that is the most important thing to you.....I would get the 18 wheels and sport pkg if you order the car otherwise you wont get the oilcooler. Here is a pic so you can see the wheel gap. Plus for the less than the cost of the S5 or A5 you can get a fully loaded 335 with Dinan and walk all over the audi. I wouldnt even be scared of and RS4 with my tuned BMW......
