Answers and questions: audi a3 spark plug
Hi I was wondering which spark plug
s are needed for my car as I want to change them to potentially solve the problem Ive been having of erratic idling. My local store gave me a couple of Bosch 510 FR78X Super4 but I am skeptical as to whether these are the correct ones as the audi
model for which it is used in is not specified on the packaging. Also which other spark plug
s do people use and which are recommended audi

A3 2004 1.6 petrolanyone tell me at what milage should i change spark plug
s and what plug
s are suitable. It doesnt look an easy job-any tips.
Hi there Wondering does anyone have any instructions for changing a 1.6 petrol 19981999 spark plug
s. (detailed). i took the engine covers off and the ontop of the engine is what appears to be a air flow pipesair intake to the engine with 4 tubes. All connected. I have a hayens manual but it nothing like the what I have and yes the haynes is for the right modal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Hey guys Ive only seen the newer year engines but the tube on the newer engines is the separate coil for each cylinder and the spark plug is at the bottom. Yours may be completely different so dont mind me if that is the case. If it is the coil you have to be careful removing it in order to not break the attachment point. There is a special tool (cheap) at ECS Tuning to safely remove things.
as kgw stated probably just the coils. Ive got a 2000 A3 1.8T very easy to change plugs. Just pop the cover remove coils (wires first) and youre in. Found something for the 2.0T its about the same just each coil induvidual for me. httpoooo-a3.blogspot.com200701...placement.html
Thats not much good to be honnest and doesnt address the problem. On a normal a3 you would just pop the engine cover off then under it you have a black cover with one bolt. Under this are the leads under 4 2 screw attachments. This is not the case. However I did mine yesterday. This is basically how to do it. Take off both engine covers (big one and small) Remove 2 screws connecting the two halfs of
first offon the 1.6 engineyou only need to take off the engine covers and thats itthe sparks at cylinders 1 and 4 are handy to get to as they are sticking out at eirher end. -remove heat shield by pulling up with a pliers(dont squeeze too hard incase you damage them) you can use a flathead screwdriver to lever them out from bottom if needs be.sparks at 2 and 3 are a bit awkwardbut if you can do one
Hi all Ive recently bought an A3 and replaced the oil filter air filter and brake padsdiscsno problemhowever trying to get to the spark plug

Does the manual mention anything about spark plug
spacing on a stock 2007 A3 Anyone have any recommendations on a favorite brand I believe I have purchased DENSO in the past for one of my old projects. I have read some threads of chipped vs non chipped spacing but didnt catch what the stock spacing is.
Hi all Hoping someone can give me some advice. Does anyone know how to remove the red electrical connectors from the top of the spark plug
s It looks like there might be a special tool required to do so and I dont want to force them off and accidentally break one I bought some replacement Pulstar spark plug
s which I am assuming are all pregapped too. Any advice at all is much appreciated Thank you
Im following this DIY to change plug
s on 2006 A3 2.0T but I cant get the electrical connectors unclipped from the coils - httpoooo-a3.blogspot.com200701...placement.html The DYI says to unclip them but I cant figure how & where to unclip them. I got the leftmost connector loose but I have no idea how I actually did so. Im trying to pry gently with a small flathead screwdriver while pulling back but

Ive searched the forums and looked through the audi
maintenance book to determine maintenance intervals and there are some items that are not mentioned or maybe theyre typically done with something else. Im sure Bentley has this info but dont have one yet for my recently purchased CPO A3 with 26K. So heres the list as I understand it and Id appreciate help filling in the blanks or correcting any errors.

I recently found a 2006 A3 with 81263 miles on it. I have been doing my research and am fairly certain that I want to buy it after the car passes a vehicle inspection at my local audi
dealer. I was looking on here to see if there were any reports about A3s with that many miles but cant find anything. So is there anything I should be concerned about moving forward besides the timing belt and water pump.
i need to fix an a3 99 its done about 98000 & has not yet done its annual service but has had a clutch change days after i had noticed that a wire was coming out of the sensor that leads to the coil (no 1 of 4) that has now been amended. Hey guys I have an 08 audi
A3 and for almost a year now I have been noticing that my idle is rough. Its hard to explain when you cant be in the car so awhile back I attempted to catch it on video. Note this video is like watching paint dry but you can see the RPM needle jump if you watch it closely. When youre sitting still you feel the car sorta choke or shake. History...67000 miles...Ive only put
Finally figured out my issues with the rough idle. Supposedly with audi Care my spark plugs were to be replaced at the 45000 mile maintenance. I have 60000 on the car now. Looks like I was told the maintenance was done but by the looks of my plugs it wasnt.
I just read the latest Consumer Reports Best & Worst for 2009. It says the A3 has declining reliability and rates it as below average. Among the bad spots are minor transmission and brakes among other things. Ive had my A3 for about 11 months with 10K miles no problems yet (cross fingers). Am I in for rough times ahead Any thoughts
2.0T 6spd man 40K - Tires 20k (due to road noise). Lumbar in drivers seat replaced under waranty due to noise when depressing clutch. one of the is faulty ul see that when your car is idling ur engin is shaking more that it should. c) Take ur car to a dealership to see what the pressure is going to your engin it could be that your engin is loosing pressure. d) Check the connections of the pressure switch maybe there is loose wiring or the plugs are coroded. replace if faulty. e) It could even be your temperature sensor... ask audi
Hi Guys I am looking at buying a 1.6 A3 as a run about and wondered if anyone has any experience or knowledge on them that would be useful Anything to look out for I have been to see one so far that i really liked the look of but few probs with it that I would like to know if they are serious or just my paranoia lol. hi there ive got an a3 on v plate (2000) and it started to misfire so i changed the ht leads and spark plug
s but this made no difference. i then thought i may of blown my head gasket so had my head skimmed and put a new head gasket on which hasnt made a difference either. After doing a compression test i found that no 2 clyinder only had a measly 20psi compression with the others at 180psi. im not
I have my 35000 mile service scheduled for next week on my 2008 A3 2.0 (manual trans.) at the dealer in Danbury CT. I was just wondering what others have paid for this.
My A3 3.2 06 got replaced the fluids and gasket on the Haldex clutch new spark plugs on the engine only the DSG oil was not changed I should get that one done on my next service in about 3 months or so just before the warranty expires. No cost at all. Wondering whether the free maintenance was no longer available for 08s.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am experiencing severe power loss (low end) stalling and a high pitched whine that sounds like turbo whistle in my 2006 A3 2.0T. Its moaning likes its starved for air. It started after getting a tune-up from a reputable shop specializing in Germans. I started getting minor backfiring when AC on. I thought it was a belt
06 a3 105000miles check enging light came on said cylinder 2misfire replaced spark plug

I hope this question has not been asked so if it has please redirect. I have a 2007 A3. I LOVE this car. I have had it for a little over 4 years and am a few hundred miles from 90000. As I was driving from Philadelphia to Washington DC today I experienced something that I hadnt ever experienced. I was sitting in traffic on the beltway and with the accelerator down the engine seemed to lose power. I
have you had an ECU upgrade eg Revo or APR Stage 1 The problem you have described are usually attributed to these things only. 1. Coil packs are about to pack up. These are quick and easy to change over. 2. Your injectors are stuffed and probably needs replacing. 3. Your spark plugs are on the way out. 4. Your fuel pumps on the way out 5. Your exhaust valve springs are playing up. Coil packs spark
2006 2.0T has cold start misfire that lasts 20 - 30 seconds then runs great. Had CEL come on about 2 months ago. Coils replaced under recall. CEL came on again 2 weeks later. Local mechanic said misfire cylinder 1. Replaced all spark plug
s and running great again. CEL on again and obvious misfire at start only when cold. Local mechanic said likely fuel system problem and suggested take it to audi
Here goes Engine wash one day driving and then car starts to shudder and MIL came on but goes of again after a pit stop to eat car drives OK and then after a day car starts to shudder again Discovered water around the spark plug
s dried it up but car keeps shudering so take off battery pole to reset again car dries good for a day and a half then EPC and MIL came on. So I scanned P0332 Knock sensor
2 air filters 1 fuel filter 1 set of spark plug
So Im still on the battle to fix all the problems that the audi
a3 2003 that used to be from my grandfather (and now is mine) have. I thought that the motor was taking too long to start because the battery was old so Ive put a brand new battery. But the problem persists... Sometimes when Im driving the RPM gets crazy and oscilates very fast 1 mm above and down and then it gets normal again. I dont know if this is related to the motor taking too long to start... Any thoughts Thanks
Kind of hard to diagnose but have the fuel filter spark plugs air filter all been replaced recently
try to use carb. cleaner and removal and the car will be fine and check the air filter and change spark plugs but after you use the carb. cleaner
Ok so I used some BG44k in the fuel system and today the check engine light came on. Stopped into Auto Zone and got a P0303 error. Car doesnt seem to hesitate and actually seems to be running good. Says it could be Ignition Error Fuel Injector Engine Mechanical I was planning on putting in new plug
s (Shes got 62k on her now). Think I should go new coils too
P0303 code indicates that there is an engine misfire. But since you mentioned that car is running smooth and is not hesitating I think you should reset the code first to see if it comes back. If the same code error flashes again then first thing to look for are the spark plugs. It would be an appropriate decision to change the coil packs too so that you can ensure a long time performance.
HELP Just installed K&N cold air and car wont start The car will turn over but wont start HELP Ive checked all the sensors and followed the directions pretty damn close. Any help is apprecitated thanks
what system and did you connect all the sensors like the maf your problem sounds like a crank cam sensor- is there a spark at the plugs and does the fuel pump cycle
Hi there thanks in advance for any replies. Ive a 00 1.6 a3 120000 miles. Recently (like 4 days ago) i noticed that sometimes when i started the car (not every time)revs were jumping up and down round 500. Also when driving i noticed a pretty substantial loss of power when accelerating and that the car was sort of juddering not bad like with low fuel but still very noticable. To me it kinda felt like
You need to check your Vaccuum hoses and your ignition coils may be misfiring on cylinders 2-4 randomly ... if thats the case and you should check your spark plugs too.....
Purchased a 2007 A3 3.2ltr with 55980 miles. The service light came on a day or two later. Got the oil changed courtesy of the dealer however they arent going to cover the rest of the service as the car is not a certified vehicle. I had the men in service have a look around when it was in for the oil change so see if anything else was in need of immediate fix. They said it was in great shape and as
The 55k would include oil oil filter air filter and pollen filter. Not the spark plugs though. The pollen filter would be the first change for the smell in your car. The engine air filter wouldnt solve that problem for you.
Hello everyone Im new to the forums and am also a new owner of a beautiful black 2006 S4. I absolutely love the car. Ive been reading around and just have a pretty simple question. What would it take to get my car to do 0-60 in under 5 seconds I know that the RS4 and the S4 use the same engine so what exactly sets it apart Thanks
S4 and RS4 dont use the same engine they actually have alot of differences they just share the same displacement. The s4 has 40 valves the rs4 and s5 have 32 valves compression ratio is vastly different These come from the audi 4.2-liter V8 FSI Engine Self-study Program its S5 motor vs RS4 but theres even more differences between RS4 and s4 The main technical differences between the base Q7S5 engine
exactly what the title says...
